  • I went to a local store they said im a large when I measured my size was 22 inches even so it didnt make sense

  • Just got my exo 700 in the anthracite today

Went riding and on the freeway when I am

Switching lanes and do a head check the shield comes up a little bit and when I turn my head back looking straight ahead it closes.

    Is this normal?

  • thats a great price you paid delivered, it is a really good helmet, I am enjoying mine until I get new inserts for my Arai which cost more than I paid for the EXO700, the chin aero guard is a nice ad on for the helmet as well reduces noise further especially if you ever use a bike to bike communicator on trips

  • which one do you recommend? 500, 700 or 1000?

do they all fit the same?

  • @cedrickgagnon Best bang for the buck will be the 700 as some graphics are on closeout in our store and cna be purchased for as little as $99. If you are looking for the best helmet of the three and the price is not the main issue I would give the nod to the 500 myself. The fit from the three is fairly consistent, not identical, still good for most riders out there. Most riders can get a good fit from any of the three helmets noted.

  • Between the 1000,500 and 700. which one is the best bang for the bucks

do they all fit the same?

  • After researching many different helmets, I'm confident now that my choice in this helmet is well advised. I'm going for that super bright solid neon color.

I live in Sacramento, where our summers can reach 100+ easy. Our wet season, though it's not nearly as bad as other regions, makes the perfect conditions for fogging up. So, I need those vents, and the antifog. I've also read a lot of reviews saying "This feels like a $400 helmet."

    Thanks!

  • help needed...i measure 60 cms...should i go in for large or extra large on the exo 700??

am really confused...help will be a life saver...thanx a lot...

  • @japaneseblade If you are looking for a tight fit then go the large. If your preference is a more comfortable, roomy fit go for the X-Large

  • @japaneseblade I just got my Scorpion EXO700 via bikebandit on closeout Memorial Day special, paid $96 plus 7.95 for the aero skirt. Extremely good deal. I measure 58cm and I chose to go with medium which is 57-58cm. I own an Arai RX7 Wraithe which is medium as well but the padding has packed down and needs to be replaced. I found the Scorpion to fit tight but I expect it will pack down a tad making it comfortable. If I were you I would go large not X large. Overall solid helmet

  • @kiddcisco thank you for your help...i finally got the Exo 700...got the burst design from ebay from a seller called ironpony, for $75 delivered...i think it's a great deal...it's my first helmet and am really happy with it....thank you for all the advice u guys

  • iam confused abt which helmet to buy. my choices are the shark s650, bell vortex and scorpion exo 700. which one would u recommend? thanx a ton!

  • @japaneseblade Go the EXO-700 or the Vortex, not the Shark s650. Shark makes some good helmets, I just do not feel the s650 is on par with the EXO-700 or the Vortex. Between those two toss a coin, they are both good helmets. I have ridden in both and like each of them for sure.

  • @Sportbiketrackgear thanx...one last thing, is it wise to also consider the hjc cl series helmets, particularly the cl 16? thanx

  • @japaneseblade I am not an HJC fan personally. I feel you are better with the Scorpion and the Bell

  • The RACE CASE hard-shell helmet case is back as of Spring 2011

  • @ScorpionNation We are glad to see one of our best selling accessories finally come back!

  • I've own the exo-400 before, and it surprised me when it came to protection. It took 3 crashes with this helmet(2 of which my head it the ground first) and all it has on it are small scratches and still holding strong. I'm using the same helmet today. But I'm now looking for another helmet to use on Miller Motorsports Park( which is a pretty fast track). Because of how well the exo-400 protected me on the streets, would you recommend the Exo-700 as a track helmet over the more expensive brands?

  • @SexyKnight01 Absolutely. I have crashed big in the 700 and it performed just as it should have. By comparison I have tested several other brands in the same manner.

  • So between the exo400 and 700 which would you say is better, and what are the main differences? thank you :)

  • @Sbafokkio The 700 flows more air than the 400 does and offers the fiberglass shell as compared to the molded shell of the 400. The 700 is a little better for sure, close competition.

  • So would you recommend the EXO-700 or Shoei TZ-R ? I found both for $99 on close out at my local shop and I cant make up my mind. For the money I am tempted to buy both but dont really need both......What is your recommendation?

  • @BIGPHILBROWN I would go the EXO-700 for sure. The EXO-700 is a better helmet hands down

  • @Sportbiketrackgear Thanks for the quick response! I was leaning toward the EXO. I appreciate your advise. You guys have great reviews.

  • Just a quick question. I'm looking ringer this Scorpion EXO-700 but have yet to try one on! Can you tell me if the shell is "rounder" in shape or more on the "oval" side! I have yet to find a truly comfortable helmet! I have a more oval shaped head especially through my forehead! Measure almost 24" exactly so I would need a extra large right? Love the reviews and really appreciate the help in advance!

  • I can't find the race case on your website for sale. Is it a special order item that I should call about?

  • @utp216 Sorry, the race case has been discontinued for about 2 seasons now. When we first shot this video the race case was a current item in the Scorpion catalog.

  • im looking to order a helmet, i was thinking the exo-400 or 700. I know you guys ride in them so i have a few questions. what helmet vents better, which one's quieter, and which works better in the summer temps in the 80s and mid 90s

  • I'm looking for a secondary passenger helmet, in terms of safety which EXO-400 or EXO-700? Thank you.

  • @YukiLT I feel they are equally safe. Both tested well

  • @Sportbiketrackgear

Thanks for the answer, also.. The head's size is 59, the size chart for large is 59-60, maybe I should get a medium?

  • What's the weight on this helmet?

  • @JYangS14 From memory 3.5 - 3.6lbs in a medium. On par with say the new Shoei X-12.

  • I had it, crashed with it on, and only a scratch remains, 0 pain.

  • I've owned this helmet for 3 years. I vouch that it's good. It's only partially fogged up on me one time (I think it was at night, with rain in 45-50 degree weather stuck at a red light). It's much better than any HJC helmet I've ever owned. But it does get loud after 110mph. Earplugs fix that. I've even been in a hard crash with it (shoes flew off). It protected my head really well (got cat scan after the blackout with no brain damage). Only worrying part: the face screen flew off on impact.

  • i like the helmet case.. to me it would come nice and handy..

  • i just got one, really nice helmet, i got it for 140 at the bike show in toronto, black and silver, called the RIVET,

  • We are runnig a closeout on the Rivet now. $108.95 while supply lasts

  • nice, too bad u dont ship to canada

  • @audiocable we ship to Canada everyday

  • us the black daleiha a chicks helmet or both guys and girls?

  • Great helmet, recently got into a crash and the helmet withstood a face impact and dragging across the highway. The damage on the helmet is a full 360 degrees around. I just bought a new helmet the other day --- EXO-700 Engine Black, really love this helmet.

  • just bought an exo700 crackhead and man is it a nice one. It truly is a wondeful helmet and i dont see a difference between paying 180 and 400 for a shoei truly beautiful

  • Comparing it with the EXO-1000, which would you say has better ventilation? Thanks!

  • The EXO-700 vents better IMO

  • Are all the visors for the exo-700 the thin kind?

I just dont like the flimsy feel

  • Hey, can this helmet be used for Go Karting aswell?

  • If it's made for motorcycles than crash anywhere up to 200mph i'm sure it would withstand a go kart incident.

  • @andreandre. Haha very true, But cus i could only find good priced EXO 700 in the U.S. And my mum doesnt like ordering from the U.S. So I'm getting a Duchinni 701. ACU Gold Standard and ECE 22-05 approved. Bassically. Road legal and able to use in higher compititions.

  • How would you rate the quietness of this helmet on a scale of 1-10?

  • wow im gonna be a begginer rider, was goin to get icon, but now i changed my mind hopefully i can get a scorpion next month, helmet price is great! thank you for the review!

  • A very nice helmet, indeed. My only complaint is that removing the inner liners can easily damage the internal components of the helmet, it seems. My brother damaged the "styrofoam" on the inside of his, and it looks like some plastic superglued piece ripped off when I just did mine while watching the video.

Not please with that at all. But overall, great damn review, and great damn helmet.

  • Thanks Brian for yet another most informed review.

  • they really do run a size small, next one will be an XL

  • They get a little larger when worn in, I wouldn't get one fitting me too comfortable in the beginning. Got my 1st gen crackhead for 3 years now and it's still just great, thanks to the washable insides. Add a little shower gel when washing them, great for a fine smell :D

Guess I'll get an Exo 1000 if I ever break my 700 or when worn out, that sunglasses are usefull sometimes. If you don't like the noise of the wind or when you're riding in the cold, there's an after-market chin-cover avaible.

  • i have this helmet and i love it...if i could buy it again id go one size bigger...they run tight...if you usually wear a medium buy a large

  • They run a little snug for some. For myself they are spot on. I measure 58 cm on the money and the medium is perfect. I like my helmet tight. Simply looking at our return and exchange data it would suggest the Scorpion Helmets run true for most.

  • Well. I think I found my new helmet!

  • Excellent choice, tremendous value and performance. I have 3 of these myself and love them!

  • think it looks better than icons.....i had a 7th seall n i loveedd it....now wantn another one like it

  • Brian , Thank you for your excellent reviews, I wanted to buy a budget helmet but not compromise on safety & I wasnt sure what helmet to get and I just purchased a Scorpion EXO-700 in the UK for £100, it was your review that sold it to me! And also for anyone living in the UK this helmet has been SHARP tested and received 4 out of 5 stars which is a higher rating of protection than many of the much more expensive Arai, Shoei, Shuberth etc ranges. So keep up the good work guys and thanks again!

  • I just want to say thank you for actually showing the EXO-700 Burst in a semi 360 degree view. I've had my heart set on that helmet for a while, but if you look online, you'll only see one image of it. That facing to the left image does not show any details on the front, top, or back. Thanks to this, I know the design is something I do want to invest in.

  • Great reviews - much appreciated. I have a Scorpion EXO-700 Octane .. I love it. Thanks for letting me know about the accessories!!

  • This helmet is awesome. I bought it for 120 from you guys and for $120 its the best damn helmet for the money. Its very comfy, the shield can seriously be swapped in 10 seconds, I CANT GET IT TO FOG!!! and the aero skirt makes a big difference in cutting sound as well! And Brian, I think you should start making some "workout" videos lol

  • Love the Scorpion, great stuff. I have 3 myself

  • First of all, I really appriciate your reviews. Though I'm only certainly appriciative of this particular review cus I wasnt sure if the 3 layer foil on the chameleon was a good illusion or just a bad tie dye, but its awesome! I love scorpions attention to detail and quality. thanks again

  • great review. I love that black dahlia one

  • were can i get a sport bike track gear tee shirt?

  • thank you!!! Finally i got it!

  • Glad we could help out. Enjoy the helmet

  • how do I install the aero skirt?

  • The Aeroskirt pushes in between the shell of the helmet and the chin EPS. It is a tight fit so it will stay in place, it will require just a bit of effort to get it installed.

  • looks great. im buying my first bike this summer and Im a poor student so scorpion sounds great to me.

  • This is the BEST HELMET value in our opinion. We use them, our track day instructors use them and all of the feedback we have received simply echos ouf thoughts.

  • thanks for the review! def going to get this as my first helmet.

  • I have a EXO-700, highly recomended, best stuff i've ever worn, I feel this is a helmet that you get for $200 but feels like $800

  • Best video about scorpion products I've seen.
