what i got out of this was, humans are assholes, so therefore any government composed of humans will necessarily be assholeish in nature. i know this is a comedy skit, but the asshole factor does actually have intellectual relevancy. it reveals the logical incosistency of government's very existence.

Even though there is no absolute solution for the asshole problem, most people aren't assholes. So if the non assholes learned recognise and deal with the assholes then the assholes would not rise to power.

I didnt see Libertarianism in there, maybe because this is a very Libertarian view of the world. The big question is which is better, lots of little a-holes that can be shrugged off or one big a-hole that will have you executed?

That is not even a question for people who acknowledge their own emotions and complex natures. I guess it is a question for people who are warped and twisted from childhood abuse or deprivation. They might opt for the one big a-hole whom they can placate.

That's because all Libertarians are assholes by default. Libertarianism/Objectivism wants all these nifty things--life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness--but do not want to support the government; they leave out "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men..." part.

Problem: Communism and Capitalism are economic systems, not systems of government. They must always be accompanied by one of the others. Same goes for pacifism- which is a philosophy, not a form of government.
