please remember this simple thing: when Californication came out, or By The Way, people said ''John isn't as good anymore'' or ''john was so unpredictible as a guitarist before and now he's POPish and so simple'' - Obviously people said that because their expectations are simple, if they know John they want the John they know, not a different one - so I guess Josh is not supprised by this reactions. Maybe it seems stronger in this case but its the same mechanism...

Love the new Chilis...Josh is the man, and considering how cool their first effort was with him, I'm pumped to hear the next album. I don't think we'll ever get anything that sounds like 'Snow' or 'The Zephyr Song' without John, but I also believe that Josh is a driving force for tracks like 'Maggie' (his subtle vocal is beautiful) and 'Meet Me at the Corner,' which are two of my personal favorite Chili songs. There's an energy to 'I'm With You' that's reminiscent of the 'Californication' days.

Navarro was kicked out because of "creative differences"- more specifically, he wasn't as interested as playing music for the pure sake of playing music as the rest of them were. He's a great musician (I think One Hot Minute is a pretty good album) but John was definitely a better fit.
