My brother just came home on a Southwest flight. He said the female flight attendant gave a routine very much like this one. He also said that everyone on the plane was giving her their complete attention the whole time. I can only remember one of the her jokes he told me about. After telling the seat cushion could be used as a flotation device she said, " If you look out the side window and see a large body of water beneath us on our flight from Phoenix to Okla. City...we are reeealy lost.

If you fly at all and are have selected yourself for extinction by not making yourself familiar with the cabin and its safety proceedures as you take a seat, then stay away from the exits and leave room for the rest of us on our way out, please and thanks. Personally, I'd rather have the announcements done in a way that keeps those not bothered to read the safety cards best entertained and paying attention. I see no harm in a bit of levity to that end.

yeah nothing like after a crash landing do you have to try and remember the joke the flight attendant said that relates to the emergency procedure you have to exercise

The thins is, when you flew SW, you notice that everybody is watching and listening to the crew during the demo. On "clear and to the point" airlines, everybody is reading newspapers and listening to their iPods during the demo.

Who care's if they have to remember a joke, it's better to remember the joke than forget the serious way.

When I think back about my days in school, it is the funny teachers and their educating stories that I still remember word to work, not the boring stuff.

In Canada, Westjet is the same. Westjet borrow a lot of ideas from Southwest, but I like how SW takes the humour one step further.

YES, good one, wifferste. That plane looks like an Orca. Have you guys/gals ever flown with Southwest? I think they're the greatest! Affordable and awesome. I flew with them many times. Except, none of the airline experience is great during a Ground Stop. I got caught in that last year. A 2 hour flight took 22 hours... You can fly to Europe almost 3 times during that time.
