I just read the book cover to cover days ago. Read the book, forget the movie and let your mind put you amongst the characters. It's quite a long and detailed book with fabulous writing and the author's talent for going back and forth in time as the characters meet as adults is a wonderful take as Mr. King parallels events of their youth with their contemporary struggles with the beast. Stephen King understands the minds of children better that any medical specialist trained in that field.
