That whatever you call it is the signal processor, if you connect "Direct" to the ps3 using the bluetooth of the ps3 you are not getting 7.1 sound :)

Fuckin' best earphones ive had in my life. Not only do i use these for my Xbox and Ps3

But ive Actually taken these bad boys on the train and with my phone and ipod touch connected to them.

and there fuckin rugged i've been in the rain and in the snow with them. Never failed me. just make sure you have about 4 good extra batteries , they last about 2-3 day with cheap batteries and about 4-5 days with good batteries

So yeah best ear phones ever. I can say they do last long too

@l3aIIin23 Yes you can listen to your ipod w/o the adaptor(leave it at home) yes you can remove the mic but i suggest leaving it wrapped it around the headseat if you have a phone you can answer the phone with them. while your ipod is connected

@casteelll Not sure i understand what you are asking? I have yet to try newer Bose headphones. My Brother had Wired Bose noise cancelling headphones that lasted him for years. Im sure he dropped them a few times over, they never broke.

@casteelll Sound quality is great in both the px5's and MOST if NOT ALL bose headphones that i've tried (which isn't many - 2 pairs). They have been in the industry for a long time. If you are yearning to try them, then hit up the other audio stores. Call first to demo products.

Bose noise cancelling  = the best i have ever used. I am not much of an audiophile so i can't comment technically, but i can offer up my opinion. And from what i have heard/used (my brothers), i have been impressed.

@casteelll I would say it depends on the feature set. I wanted the px5's so that i could game wirelessly without the hassle of a cord. I also didn't want my daughter yanking at anything when i wasn't playing/or playing. If the bose headphones (after a demo) meet the criteria that you have set for youself, then you have your winner.

My choice was the px5, because it is a very diverse product. I currently use them for my xbox,ps3,and watching movies/tv when the houe is sleeping.

@chsnavi My turtle beach headphones only work for the xbox 360 and not my computer or cell phone so i right now i use a 50 dollar skull candy headphones which have great sound quality don't get me wrong but unfortunately my computer is in the living room and right next to a big speaker and my headphone have no cancel the outside sound button so sometimes its hard to listen to videos when my parents are trying to watch tv at the same time so my question is do you know of any adapters.

I currently own some p11's and their good, but i'm returning them for the sony 7.1 surround headset. I want px5's or some trittons or astros but the wireless ones are ridiculously expensive, and I'm not that hardcore of a gamer, although i do ply 3-4 hrs every day. Let me know if there is a website that sells the for cheap! in conclusion, $250 is too expensive.

I think the 2.4Ghz should be unacceptable for this price. Hiss will still occur, it depends on the placement of your Wireless Router. Also seeing as my previous Turtle Beaches broke after a 5ft fall, the plastic usage should be unacceptable as well. I would rather wait for the Tritton Warhead.

@TVsideornaments When the headset connects to the PS3 through Bluetooth, it is only for chat. The PS3 cannot send out its audio through the Bluetooth, hence the receiver.

@TVsideornaments No because the receiver is needed to connect the headset to the PS3. It would probably work if there was a way to connect the headset directly into the PS3 port. But then that would defeat the purpose of them being wireless.

@XxJediBoyxX It matters. Astros are wired all the way and have no setup to what you want to hear. They have good sound and comfort, and wires up to your mp3, PC, etc.

PX5s are wireless and has setups to adjust your volume. Takes batteries, so you might need rechargeable batteries.

I would recommend the PX5s.

@wduncanator actually i just worked it out and i got them because they do. Since my pc is build from the ground up it has a optical cable jack in it and all i need for the mic is the 10 dollar attachment that goesinto the mic slot in my pc. Therefore this works with pc same as the x41 :D

Does anyone else experience really poor microphone quality with the PX5s?

Both my mate and I have PX5s, and when we play online, we can bearly understand eachother, and it's either because the mic is really shit (which is unacceptable for a $200 headset), or we have messed around with the settings (somehow).
