If anyone knows, what happened to their Narrator/Announcer???

  • @Thenuttyboy24 he retired...just kidding, i really don't know, cool voice though.

  • I want my childhood back ;(

  • Adventure time is funny and all, but it's acid-induced mayhem, kids need some Toonami so they don't all grow up to be idiots.

  • sigh, back when CN was awesome.

  • what happened to cartoons, what do kids have now a days nothing.

  • One of the best motivational bump from Tom on Toonami I can remember.

  • I dont know what it is about this promo, but when I was a kid it felt like this was a whole different world in a far off universe. One that I wanted to go to so badly but was only allowed mere glimces of afterschool when I turned my T.V. on. A world that for some reason feels like it was here far before me and even after it being taken off the air it still exists in that far away dimension.

  • To be honest, I don't think Toonami should be brought back to CN. They would just screw it up, the bastards. -__- Rather, it should have it's own dedicated channel or the very least, be featured on Boomerang.

  • Dang I remember this! How long ago was this aired anyway? Was I in the third grade? I've been looking for this promo all day. I feel so accomplished for finding this :D

  • What anime is this???

  • @mceldowneycole

Main clips of Outlaw Star, A clip of Tenchi Muyo!, a few clips of DBZ, a shot of Gundam Wing, And Toonami host TOM II viewing the clips on the starship Absolution.

  • I also grew up around Toonami, even if i didn't understand what it was until a few years into the program. it has also been a good part of my childhood and i've been with it up until it ended in 2008. I am 20 now and even so, this has always been my favorite promo; i have an mp3 version of it and honestly, if i'm in the mood for it, i could play it for an hour and never get tired of it; it's like a song you grow up around; you just never get tired of listening to it when you're in the mood to

  • Don't fear failure!

  • I. Miss. My. Childhood.

  • This is the most beautiful promo ever made. I don't think anyone can argue against that. Beautiful ambient music, inspiring quotes and footage from truly great animated TV shows. The themes on the shows that Toonami used to show were very heavy... we learned a lot emotionally from watching them. I miss the days that stuff like this used to be on TV, but I hold fondly the memories of it.

  • so many times in my life i have had moments like this. randomly talking to myself inside with these types of questions that where said in this video.

  • toonami was the greatest most well thought out block of programming. outlaw star, dbz, gundam wing? damn if they brought this back i wouldnt miss a day of it. these promos struck me even as a kid

  • This is what we were raised on... why are we depriving the younger generations of such a beautiful thing?

  • words can not describe how this small clip can send us back to a time when we had still had hope.

  • i miss my toonami

  • You guys realize what was Toonami's and all of Cartoon Network's animes fall right? Fucking Naruto...

  • this is my favorite video

  • Wow, mjmegaplay, you took the words right from me, i couldn't have said it better myself.

This is so nostalgic, i'm actually crying,...sigh, so many good memories.

  • Toonami gave my, OUR, Generation philosophy; a different point of view; a birth of knowledge which consisted of honor, pride, love, and heartbreak. The series that Toonami relaid gave us all a reason to think more about the actions we take, and the endless potential possibilities that lay within us and our every action. Our minds were broaden, our dreams grew diverse in culture and emotion, and most of all, we could relate with Characters as well as each other. WE GREW AWARE OF US.

  • google Toonami Aftermath

    You're Welcome

    Bang!

  • Dammit...my eyes are watering! DX

  • Wow, seeing this again really makes me happy I grew up in the time I did.

  • damn, I need these back in my life. All of them.

  • Good times and I miss them, because now if I watch cartoon network today I'll be struck with soul shattering depression..... huh

  • thank you for the wonderful nostalgia

  • who in the hell would dislike this?!!!!!!!!!!!! toonami was the shit!!! whoever dislikes this needs to be shot

  • Brings back memories. This was when cartoon network was good.

  • 1:44-1:50 words to live by

  • The emptiness inside of me from Toonami not being in my life temporarily fills right back up when I watch this promo...

One word sums up Toonami = Powerful

  • When I was 8, the year was 1998. That was when I entered into the world that was toonami. I am 21 now, and as a man, I am brought to near tears learning toonami shut down in the year 2008. I had so many good memories as I grew with toonami and their host TOM. This is, unfair to say at the least. I have seen the recent airings on cartoon network, I fear that the new generations will never get to feel what we felt for toonami. Why has this happened...

  • @mjmegaplay Amen!!!! They will never experience the joys we have watching Toonami. This brought us a whole lot of maturity than the idiot and kiddy ass shows they put on the air now. smh..... how time fly's

  • @soulfood54 Yes! You completed my thoughts. It brough MATURITY to the viewers. Hell with the violence, those shows gave us so much more than simple action adventures. Toonami gave us different views from a different culture (Japan), the story telling and character development gave us attachment and a feeling for longing. It gave us dreams and hope, and had us think deeply in a positive way. If everyone turned to cartoon network right now, they would be ashamed of what they are airing.

  • @mjmegaplay Toonami Aftermath. It'll change your life.

  • @LeonSujiken Its good for the most part. By the way, I'm The_Mad_Rooster

  • @mjmegaplay I heard rumors that Cartoonnetwork have new team members, could it be?This also happened in the CN message board, the older mods is not seen anywhere and the new ones are barely as creative as the previous ones.

  • @irawadeeresort it seems a new board may have replaced the original. If so, it explains the bad taste in recent animation, and the lack thereof. Parents have also played a severe role in Toonami's shutdown; sending hundreds of complaints that the violence is too realistic, and is poisoning the minds of their children; Steering them away from reality. But, that's the parent's duty to explain to their kids what's animation and what's real, not the network. Parent's have doe the same to Disney.

  • @mjmegaplay There should be a law that soccer moms must shut up or be arrested, seriously, they aren't even as reasonable as kids these days, something goes wrong, they blame anything slightly related.

  • @irawadeeresort You're a wise one. These days, parents tend to blame their surroundings, and not themselves for their own shortcomings. "The Media is ruining our Kids" "Video games are ruining our kids" "My children's friends are bad influences", etc. It's a parents duty to guide their children; Speaking to them daily, building their kid's moral grounds and perception of good and wrong. If they spent more time raising their kids, and less time blaming the media, we'd still have toonami right now

  • @mjmegaplay Agreed.

  • @mjmegaplay because toonami started showing gay shows, which wasn't there fault, then cartoon network tried making it more kid friendly by changing tom and their ratings dropped because of the that and had to cancel it

  • @BrandonTheFoxyCondor Plus, the CEO Snyder played a helping hand in Toonami's downfall.

  • Where is the dubstep remix to this?

  • Thank you soo much for this video. I still remember this video back when i was a kid glued to the TV watching toonami everyday. Especially the "Ya just gonna keep running AWAY?!" part. I will Never forget.

  • I loved Outlaw Star. I didn't know it was on Toonami though. I think Toonami became Adult_swim in the latter years and then Adult_swim sort of became just a comedy block. They hardly play any good anime anymore.

  • @DaisyAzuras

No. Adult Swim(sucks) replaced the Toonami Midnight Run and aired content anime.

  • I feel so bad for kids today.

  • God damnit this still make me cry months after watching it. It so makes me regret my senior quote and wish I could just put this whole video in the yearbook.

  • @BioYuGi

    What quote?

  • Hilda: "Ya just gonna keep running AWAY?!"

    Gene: "Just keep running away?"

    Hilda: *Epic glare"

    Gene:"......I'm not running..........."

    Outlaw Star FTW.

  • omg Toonami was fuking AMAZING!

  • I remember watching toonami on saturday nights and how awesome these shows were. I miss the old times when CN was good and didn't show any of the crap they do today. :( how times have changed.

  • Old school Toonami was so freaking EPIC!

  • @twilightshadowblade DAMN RIGHT ! Everythin' on cartoonnetwork now for the most part you wouldn't watch unless you were high ! Damn.... I miss the late 90's early 2000's

  • I remembered this is a kid...

  • ...This makes me remember how badass this TV block was.

Oh, CN, what happened to you....

  • i remember this

  • We DO want toonami on CN we just need the right people directing it. Don't lose hope. We have toonamiaftermath.(om that plays toonami ALLL day. We want some new shows that stay true to the innovation we knew and loved. We need Toonami disciples. Have you not learned from any show that disciples usually pass their master's work. Will all shows that they produce be as good as these originals? of course not. But is it worth finding the best show you've never watched? Well that's for you to decide.

  • How many years has it been since I saw this...?

  • toonamiaftermath(dot)com. if you don't know, now you do and if you miss the old toonami then you need to check this site out

  • good life lesson

  • see this message is what children need now, other than the bullshit that's on CN now that would cause them to be discouraged and bored like retarded ass Total Drama Island, they need to see Toonami if they need any chances of inspiration of becoming an amazing artist or a badass musician for that matter.

    Thumbs up if you agree

  • Toonami Aftermath~

This promo and everything else that ever came with it.

  • Most likely, the 8 people who disliked this video didnt grow up watching toonami

  • Comment removed

  • Fuck CN now. Cowboy bebop, DBZ, gundam wing, batman, and all the other euphoric shows that were being played enveloped a sense of character and motivation. Todays CN lineup is all about bs toons with no message. Same with the music industry.

  • @falconpierce yeah and now you have to wait for saturdays to watch animes

  • god damnit. i miss it so much.

  • Rest In Peace

  • I am aiming this message to anyone and everyone who is reading these comments. There is a way to bring back Toonami, but it takes everyone doing their part.

    1) Go to cartoon network's website.

    2) Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on 'contact us'.

    3) Choose 'programming' as a category, and then 'Toonami' as a topic.

    4) Tell them you want Toonami back!

    Do it for Tom!!!

  • @BigJack916 Sent some heartfelt input to them. Told them how inspirational it was and how it played a father figure roll for me growing up. It literally did help shape me as an individual. Now there is nothing inspirational like that on TV.

  • @varnlestoff Your right man, its like they brought "anime" its self into the main stream new shows that folks hadn't seen before.. like i would rember coming home from school finishing up my homework just so i could spend my time with toonami, they need that block back.. CN changed it into [as] which to me personally sucks monkey balls now cuz they have nothing good on anymore, but toonami always brought the heat.. so i dont know but they need that back

  • Soo ahead of its time!

  • @kristof007

If it were then today would be more inspirational as this. And CN wouldn't have Stuart Snyder.

  • This makes me feel young, good, and empowered. Thanks Toonami, for inspiration beyond measure. You will forever be in my memories. Later.

  • It's just incredible how inspirational this promo STILL is.

  • ATTENTION TO ALL!

If u want i cant PM the site where they have shows like this all the time

  • It's tragic... Eight cowards could not create their own destiny...

  • DUDE

As soon as that rocket took off at 0:12, a big grin appeared on my face. Some serious nostalgia.

Today, I drink for all who grew up with these classic toons.

  • i need to watch this when i feel under pressure

  • this is 1 video that made toonami what it was back then.

  • If there any wrestling fans out there....I'd say the 1998-2005 was like the WWF/E attitude era of Cartoon Network. The 2006-2011 Cartoon Network is like the WWE PG bullshitty, boring, predictable attitude adjustment era....

  • Just watched this before my exam this morning. Guess who destroyed an exam?? This guy.

  • @asqueezy2010 High five man. God Bless yoy.

  • @asqueezy2010 yeah cuz this video says, "f uck this exam, you dont have to prove nothing to nobody, you dont need to achieve to "their" standards, you just need to be yourself, be creative and then look back on your endaevors"

  • @asqueezy2010 Gusse who konck me of the deans list..YoU Blugh uhguhuguhg

  • "Im not running.." EPIC

  • Hilda was the reason the show was worth watching. : D

  • These were the good days too bad Cartoon network isn't what it used to be.

  • oh man I remember whatching this from 97-08 man did this get us hooked on anime or what. Also gave me a drive to be a better person and have a goal in life and I can honestly say whitout toonami my life would be kind of broing.

  • any1 know the song/songs used in this promo? Specifically the 1 where that lady is grabbing Gene Starwind saying "ur gonna keep running away?"

  • AWWW yeah, I remeber this. loved this.

  • very cool video loved toonami when i was a kind holds a special place in all our hearts.

  • I was in preschool when toonami was out and I remember all the great mooments of watching DBZ, YuYu hakusho, Sailor Moon, and (before it went to adult swim) Big O. Even at 3 or 4, anime's been my life.

  • I hope dad didn't throw all my CN/Toonami tapes from 2000-2003 away... or i'll kill him then eat his soul :D

  • cartoonetwork is now dumb i wish toonami stayed 4 ever

thumbs up if u think the same thing

  • This is.....how do I put it....nostalgic. And I agree with some of the people here. I'm glad I grew up in the age when Toonami was at its highest during those glory days. I also have to say that without Toonami, I wouldn't be much of an anime fan that I am now.

  • wow I cant believe other people remeber this, I saw it one day and I didnt even know what to type in on the youtube search, wow guys...I feel like there is actually hope for people TY for posting this.

  • I feel soooo invincible when I watch this. Damn. Cartoon Network fell wayyyy off.

  • PLZ give us back Toonami and we'll give you whats left of Adult Swim... that may not be much but i'll offer some money too!!!

  • What year was this promo from? because i remember it very well.

  • How can people dis like this? Makes no sense

  • Woooow I remember this..... I must be old....

  • Ah yes da old classics thanx 4 posting dis it brings back old memories
