i have to correct you. the bridge saddles are not stainless steel. put a magnet on them and see what happens. usa deluxe strats have the polished stainless steel saddles not standard usa models.
@jimihendrixfan2008 I own a epiphone les paul and i agree with you, mainly cause i hate gibson cause they are way too expensive and i wouldn't mind if they were perfect but they aren't
You know that getting the bridge off of the floating position is actually very easy, right.?. I mean, there's no need to take it to a shop and spend money for something that basically just requires a screwdriver and five minutes of one's time:\
Great review! I totally agree with how you said it is harder to get a clean tone out of Gibsons. I love Strats and they will always be my guitar of choice!
If you are a beginner on a budget, I would not reccomend going for a proper Fender, I would go for a Fender Squier or a strat copy, such as a Tanglewood, they are much cheaper. for best value, I'd go for a starter pack, I purchased a Squier Affinity Strat starter pack, which includes a very nice Strat, a Fender Frontman amp, picks, headphones, DVD, tuner, gig bag, cables, all in a nice package for about £150 (£180 after Saturday delivery charge). Shop around on the net.
I'm just saying, if you're a beginner, they're great value. Mexican Fenders are about £200-£300 on their own, that's before getting an amp and other bits. I'm sure they sound amazing, but honestly I've had no trouble with mine, it sounds great (To my untrained ear anyway, but that's my point, I'm a beginner).
Novice question. I have a stratocaster and I do not know if it my amp or what but when I play I can not get it to do a hard rock sound? My amp I admit sucks. I got the tuning and everything. Any amps you advice that are good for hard rock or metal.
The Stratocaster is an amazing guitar. Jesus would've played one of these instruments if he could've. I prefer the Telecaster, mainly because I hit the switch on the Strat when im playing, but it has a great tone, and is extremely versatile.
Thanks for the amazing review.I wasn't sure that i wanted a strat until i saw this review. Now i see how beatiful this guitar is. THANKS AGAIN FENDER!!!!!!!!!
I think he means clean sounds instead of acoustic sounds. fenders do indeed have better clean & slightly overdriven sounds, while gibson guitars are a lot better with heavy distortions & high gain amps. but even for distorted sounds, I'd prefer PRS more than gibson.
FYI: if we're talking American strat's, were already talking about 1000-1200 dollars, so if your willing to make that investment... save a few more dollars for the real Les Paul by gibson... not the entry level Epiphone.
Alot of the 2005 strats have had the pickups messed on with, so you have to screw the single coils down or up depending on the sound, and the older strats had a better tone IMO. Btw, no point buying a squire, it doesnt give you a taste of Fender whatsoever, there pants.
for me id say 5/5 the fender strat is one of the best guitars clapton uses it and hendrix and they are 2 of the best guitarists in the world (atleast i think so) this guitar rocks!!!!
The Fender Strat is obviously the best guitar ever made. This guitar is versatile in all fields of acoustic to heavy rock as he states in the video. I have played a bit on one of these guitars and fell in love with it after the first note. I damn myself for getting another guitar. I really wish I had gotten this guitar. I am not exactly sure if you get the same sound out of a Squier but I am aiming for a Fender Strat. LONG LIVE THE STRAT!!!
If you don't use that tremolo, tighten the springs up so it sits against tight against the bosy. It will stop it going out of tune but also you'll gett fuller tone since you got more body contact.
i dont get why you guys rip on the strat... they have completely different sounds, strat is a calmer tone if you play it right. tele is more punk/ fast pace songs. if you know to play it right, both are good guitars, and thats why they cost the same at retail. It really comes down to your flavour and taste with sound.
Great review man, everything you said was true, you gave some good advice. I'm looking into one currently so thanks for that! I just would've liked to have seen you play though.
I reckon i could if i looked very closely, plus actually playing the two guitar a good one and bad one you would soon realise which one sounds better.
i am hoping to start playing guitar and i am lucky cuz my cuzin plays ever musical instrament i am aware of and of coarse has some realy nice guitars whitch i get to start with. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cuziiiiiiiiinnnns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ugh, fender is crap, only electric guitar to use F flat spacing, same goes for the Squier, of course, I play heavier stuff, and Fender Isnt made for that kind of music, its great for blues, and lightly distorted things
you just had me convinced! that was the kind of review i was looking for (and the videos u have put up, besides the band playing, showed how good a strat sounds). thanks.

i got one exactly like that except for the fretboard which is darker. (rosewood i think?) it keeps itself in tune really well, and sounds great.

Well, Mesa Boogie. Or Soldano. Or Komet.
But i think Strat sound CAN do hard rock but isn't supposed to do hard rock.
Maybe it's better an Ibanez Jam or A les Paul, or a Paul red smith, a Jackson... Charvel...
Strat is for Heavy with clean sounds too...
