This is by no means a rip off of Granger Danger. Both songs just use a series common chords played up the fretboard in an open position. The open positioning of the chords is less common so the sound stands out and is easily identifiable. If she would play the same chords in closed position, like most people do, they would sound so common that it wouldn't sound unique. Having said that, those same open chords with similar rhythms have been used in countless songs since.... the 50s.

I think the thing that makes "G'day" sound bad coming from foreign musicians for example is that it's not said by everyone in Australia ... It's GENERALLY more of a country town thing (I know I am probably going to be noosed for that, but oh well! :] )... So when someone does it just cause they think it'd be cool, it can have the opposite effect :)
