They are more mature and their music had to go to the next level,with more effects, to attract more and more people. I personally know,like,50 boys and girls who started listening to TH when they started changing.Their songs would become boring if they kept their old style.Face it,they went to Japan,sold millions and millions of CD's and they're happy.We can still see that childish happiness in all of them.
@mitzilliaaa it wouldn't be boring at all if they kept their old style, i mean it was the old style that made ppl fall in love with them. they went from rock to pop, how many bands do that? cuz that's a huge change! they were speciall before.. they're still good now but they're not speciall anymore, cuz now they sound like everybody else. some of their new songs are a little to 'american production' to me. i think humanoid has like 4 - 5 great song, the other ones are just good to me.
I'm a fan (HUUUUUUUUGE FAN!!) for 7+ years.They are STILL special.I mean,Phantomrider,Zoom,Attention,Shadow,FOREVER NOW *_* these songs are AMAZING and UNIQUE!And they still have rock songs,like Alien or Humanoid.They've changed some part of them,but come on,we ALL change,we can't expect that they're gonna be like at the beginning of their career.And many GREAT artists (solo artists or bands) have changed their sound.It's normal.And their appearance is PERFECT.It's my opinion.
@mitzilliaaa (part 2). and you're right, für immer jetzt is a great song, it's just one thing i hate about it.. ofcourse the pop sound! that's why i do prefere the humanoid songs live cuz they lose some of their pop sound. and every song in their humanoid album has speciall effects, even humanoid and alien so they're not 100% rock! and you also mentioned something about TH gaining fans after they changed, but do you know how many fans they lost? it breaks my heart every time i think about it.
And I know how many fans they've lost.But they've gained even more.

this is one of my fav songs from Schrei.. the performance is almost perfect, it's just a shame that bill dosen't hit the high note at "nacht erschein".. if he had sung that high note, this video would have been in my favorites right now.

I think that they're amazing. No matter how they choose to look or play music. The thought of TH makes me happy. And it will always make me feel that way. No matter what. If one or the entire band decide to stop making music, i would be unhappy. If TH werent here, i would'nt be here. I love TH and i accept every thing they do.

I miss the old Tokio Hotel. When their songs were in an own genre, the Tokio Hotel genre. When no one had songs like them. Their songs were so emotional and real. I'm not saying I don't like the new songs, it's just that they have so many special effects and they are more typical, I just miss the old TH. When they were famous but still so near me...

@TheBubulechka Yeah, after the concerts were cancelled in 2008 and Bill had his surgery, y'know, that period was so hard for me and I was really depressed. After all that was done i sort of had a break from them 'til the new album came out. So it was just weird how much they changed, I love the new songs but I miss the old one's as well without special effects. I wonder what the new album will be like, and the tour. Guess we just have to wait and see what they'll do this time :)

since this concert bill has undergone vocal surgery, Tom has been sued, Bill and Tom have been harassed, and the paparazzi drove them from Germany!
Why would someone change just for that? I really couldn't blame Bill and Tom for retiring. If it would make them happy I would be glad!

this is one of my fav songs from Schrei.. the performance is almost perfect, it's just a shame that bill dosen't hit the high note at "nacht erschein".. if he had sung that high note, this video would have been in my favorites right now.

Like so many other people i miss the 'old' TH.
I think that they're amazing. No matter how they choose to look or play music. The thought of TH makes me happy. And it will always make me feel that way. No matter what. If one or the entire band decide to stop making music, i would be unhappy. If TH werent here, i would'nt be here. I love TH and i accept every thing they do.

I miss the old Tokio Hotel. When their songs were in an own genre, the Tokio Hotel genre. When no one had songs like them. Their songs were so emotional and real. I'm not saying I don't like the new songs, it's just that they have so many special effects and they are more typical, I just miss the old TH. When they were famous but still so near me...

@TheBubulechka Yeah, after the concerts were cancelled in 2008 and Bill had his surgery, y'know, that period was so hard for me and I was really depressed. After all that was done i sort of had a break from them 'til the new album came out. So it was just weird how much they changed, I love the new songs but I miss the old one's as well without special effects. I wonder what the new album will be like, and the tour. Guess we just have to wait and see what they'll do this time :)

I seriously miss the old Bill. I know that people grow up, but at this time he really looks like a cute, nice, young singer. He was sweet and their songs were fantastic. So... emotional.

He's more polished now, which isn't a bad thing, it's just different from what we were used to all these years. :)
