I dont get it, are all of the islands called Mindanao? How bout Luzon and Visayas ? they're already called like that ever since before the Catholic European arrived in our lands right coz Visayas was already been a part of the Sri Vijayan empire in the ancient times ? Therefore, I conclude that our land has there own respective names and not only Mindanao.

Alhmadulillah kapatid,the set of the gov't before the Spaniards came was in Mindanao.There was no Philippine yet.Luzon and Visayas including Borneo were territories owned by the Sultanate from Mindanao,the fact is that Luzon and Visayas are under the leadership of Datu Sulaiman and Datu Kali Pulaku(LapuLapu)a Tausug man,These datus were representatives of the Sultan from Mindanao.When Spaniards occupied the Island in the North,they make their new set of Gov't in Luzon

I will not let Mindanao turn into a theocratic fascist state that imposes Islamic law on all of its people. Its a fundamental human right to be free from religion!

my friend it is very clear and simple to understand that Philippines is general name of entire archepelago colonize by spaniards after 1570 therefore before spaniards came thier was no Philippines
