I've had a really bad relation with this song since I bought Under a Funeral Moon 2 years ago, because I couldn't bear Nocturno's vocals and Fenriz's guitars...Fuck all, now I FUCKING LOVE black metal and I'm proud of having this beautiful album!!! I've also bought the t-shirt and wear it everyday!!!

Fucking gorgoroth ripped off the main riff in "Of ice and movement". but i still like both songs but this one is obviously better. its more original and old school black metal.
Why does this music sound so good to my ear? Lets think this in theory :
It's music that has grim "brutal" vocals, very distorted guitar with good yet sometimes very simple riffs, minimalistic bass lines (if any) and drums-- well drums just being there in the backround, blastbeats usually.
Still this sounds brilliant and happens to be big part of me, even tho most ppl dont like it. I guess it just grows into you or something..

hellhammer/celtic frost is a good band(especially when they first started) and so is darkthrone but my point is that they shouldnt be playing first wave black metal. it just doesnt fit their image(my opinion). This band is well known for their cold and dark atmosphere. Hail OLD Darkthrone!!!!

They play what they want and dont give a fuck about anything else. And that is how its supposed to be. If Darkthrone had stayed "grim" it would propbably suck because they didnt enjoy making that music.

this song has PERFECT lyrics (and music)! I really like the fact that Darkthrone didn't find a love theme cheesy and inappropriate for a metal song, because I think that in metal there's a little preoccupation with erotic lyrics
