They have a more powerful engine, and were put together by Yenko Chevrolet by Ron Yenko. There were only about 50 Produced, and as you can imagine, it is extremely rare to come across a real one today.

There's a company that has the full support of Yenko and GM that is rebuilding the Yenkos and COPOs using Dynacorn bodies, all the Yenkos and COPOs were numbered and this company is starting right back up where the numbers ended and continuing them, the cars are 100% brand new from the ground up built to exact Yenko or COPO specifications, they are fully certified 1969 Yenko/COPO Camaros plated and tagged as such...only problem is they run $140k each =/

And the yenko was not a stock camaro the engine was changed the rear end was changed with a posi rear end with different gears and the exhaust was also changed they also didnt test the yenko with slicks which I'm sure would definatly tip the scales. The 440 6 was an ok engine just not better than the yenko 427 and the 727 trany in the mopar couldnt compete with the m22 in the yenko.

Well, I do take my figures from the books I own (HEMI Muscle Cars, CHRYSLER, DODGE & PLYMOUTH MUSCLE). And I'm sure of what I talk about. For example, Motor Trend clocked 13.7 with a TorqueFlite 'Cuda.

But no need to say everything you know about CHEVY, and trying to prove they're best. Any muscle car fan will tell you that the HEMI cars are no things to laugh about. And I repeat that YENKO cars are not beyond their reach, I'm telling you.

For one a race hemi is a modified engine it is not a stock engine damn its in the title race meaning modified suped up with either bigger pistons,cam blower ect.. and I don't know where you got your figures at my guess pry some book with pop out pictures or something but in the early days those big beasts were tested stock and they did put out 14's but I do agree with you on the driver deciding the outcome it depends on the shift between 1 and 2 gear its just theres more to it .

The Yenko Camaro's truly a beats. But you seem to forget the '70 Hemicuda, or the 440-6 Road Runner, that runs 12'91 on stock condition, and on the low-11 with drag tyres. Not to mention the 1967 "Silver Bullet" Belvedere GTX. The Yenko can still try to keep up...

Just to say that a HEMI is no good with stock tyres, as the output just light the rubbers on. But when it gets sticky, then make a big smile, and kick the throttle !!!

I 've looked it up the stock cuda was putting out 14's they both had a lot of weight the only difference is roadrunner only had the 440 six pack which was putting out only 390 hp the hemi cuda was putting out 425 hp like the yenko but was slower because the weight was higher and I'm sorry but slicks wont give you that much jump unless you modified things like header's and cam.

Improving performance doesn't necessarily need modifying.

I'll just tell you that the essential part of a 1/4 mile run is on 1st and 2nd gear. A 70 Hemi'Cuda does 13.41, I don't know where you saw 14's ??... The Street HEMI is a Race HEMI, with a lower compression ratio. No less, no more.

The stock '70 RR 440+6 is even faster, despite its weight, thanks to the lower output and better traction (12.91).

Power is nothing without traction.

Do NOT underestimate slick tyres...

The new ZR-1 leaves the GT500 at the starting line. hate to tell you but it does. It runs a 1/4 mile in 11.5 seconds and can take on a Ferrari in a street course.
