He is right, but also seems to forget it's not the 60's anymore when a few innovative designers and men could design a competitive car in a month or so. Today you don't just jump into Formula 1 and be competitive at once. It takes years of experience to get to the top. BAR and Toyota learned that all too well.

Sure they can make it. It'll take time though. As it is right now it seems doubtful they'll even have a car in time for the first race of the 2010 season.

@McLarenMercedes EAGLE FLIES HIGH AT SPA ( the headline in AUTOSPORT magazine the week after Dan won the Spa race , he was leading well in the Nurburgring F1 race when mechanical gremlins intervened. Dan was the only man Jim Clark knew could beat him. Dan is a legend and a wonderful American Gentleman

True. Jim Clark admitted to his own dad that he feared Dan Gurney would one day sit in a competitive car. Clark didn't respect Hill, Surtees, Brabham or Hulme as Gurney.

Too bad he didn't win the French GP in 1961, I think a small mistake in the last corner meant Baghetti sneaked past and won his only ever race.

Fantastic man. I hope the US F1 cars will sport the classic AAR livery like Team Rahal's last Indy 500 entry. With the Green & Gold of the new Lotus team, it would look fantastic.
