Yeah,.... see, back in the day, they called them 'music videos'. They usually (although not always) had a story that went with the subject of the song. Nowadays, it seems like it's all booty and crunky. Wow do I sound old. Sigh.
Amo esse vídeo e essa música é maravilhosa...fez parte de minha juventude e de minha maturidade...sempre me trouxe coisas muito boas e acabo me conhecendo cada vez mais. Obrigada!
@MCRThreeDaysGraceFan - Decade is compilation, a "greatest hits" album of their songs up to that point in time. So yes, they did make music videos for all of them. And as a teenager and young adult, I saw them all.
This video proves why Duran Duran is one of the greatest bands that ever lived, but the videos for Notorious and Girls on Film (uncensored) are slighly better for having hot girls.
Ahhh epicness T_T i still remembered my self as a teenager playing this on our old cassette player custom recorded mixed along side spandau ballet on a 120m cassette tape, lol has it been 30 years already geez time goes by soooo fast O.O now i really feel old xD
heard a bunch of hooligans singing at the train station this on my way to London a couple of years, best cover i've heard of any song ever, probably one of the best stadium tunes in the world
October 1984 - 26 years ago this video was out. I would have to say it was spectactular. The video production values had never been reached before and the characters looked out of a movie. The song itself, taken from the novel The WIld Boys by Edgar Rice Burrows, is what the song is based on. The song was for the movie translation of the novel but the film fell through. 11/10 for the mighty duran duran.
Duran Duran is not one of the best band in the 80's, they are the BEST band of the 80's, they initiated the 2nd British invassion. THey did it with style never to be imitated agian. Their style is way ahead of time. They are immortals to a lot of fanatics. They change music and video forever.
Duran rocked it in the 80's and early 90's and they don't get the credit they truely deserve. I think their talent was under estimated because everyone thought they were pretty boys, but I beg to differ they were and still are the shit!!!!!!
@doormagic the director's name is Russell Mulcahay. He did the majority of the Duran videos and videos for bands like Ultravox and The Buggles as well. He also made films like "Highlander."
I love this song....I remember the first time i heard and saw this video.........where did MTV go? answer the toliet. This was when MTV was awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE best 80's band! A real feast for the senses. Makes me sad too as it highlights the fact that today's music is weak & characterless. Bring back the 80's again!
Gosh, I miss the 80s, when a vid like this was new and breathtaking, now everything's cgi and there's no more mystery... we don't get surprised any more... or maybe that's just me feeling the weight of years gone by.
didn't Simon LeBon almost die during the shoot for this video when that windmill broke down while his head was underwater? Having a behind the music flashback.

Hmm,...thought it was cool when I was a kid but now looking back at it those dancers all had to be GAY. Who can even act that way unless you actually were. See my man almost BITCH SLAP one of them here 3:39
Duran Duran is the S---! Eighties music rules and now my fifteen year old daughter thinks so aswell. The Cure, Depeche Mode, Wham, Howard Jones, Billy Idol, The pet shop boys reighn supreme in my 80's world! :)
Im glad they reunited in 2002, but i still wonder what that album would have been like back in 85? the last 2 songs were this and a view to a kill, i loved the direction they were going.
i agree with you,the 80's was the best time music in those days make sense, billy idol, level 42,naked eyes, wham, the police, tears for fear, every time i listen to these groups ,it takes me back in time i fell like i'am 15,thanks god i really enjoy the decade, best of the best
I was fortunate enough to be part of the 80's music mash and the birth of the MTV generation , back when that meant so much more. Each song had substance and every video had its' own unique style. Now we can raise our banners high , all the while thinking to ourselves " what the hell is this one all about ?". Top notch vids like " Take on me by AH HA " , " Video killed the radio star by The Buggles " and " White Wedding by Billy Idol " are still classics to me . Good tunes and great vids , tnx.
Exactly aramanth. I thought I was in a Mad Max flick the first time I saw this, too ;)
This is still a fun vid and I love this tune!
The 80's were insane, and we thought we would be in that video after the mutant Punk nuclear post-Apocalypse of the the Cold War that never came... we didn't know what the future held, but hey... we could dance!
You know when I saw this for the first time in the 80s... I thought it was brilliant, the song is still great. But the video makes me laugh now! It's so overdone! So many extras, the robot head, and so many props and costumes left over from the Mad Max films! DD still rule, but this video is just overblown... (I think Russell's work as a whole is incredible... however, for another example of Russell Mulcahy's overdone work see "War Song" by Culture Club).
This song's a rare gem indeed from Duran Squared & MTV--How come this remastered version only has 12 comments is beyond my comprehension...Mikey5*&faved!
