October 1984 - 26 years ago this video was out. I would have to say it was spectactular. The video production values had never been reached before and the characters looked out of a movie. The song itself, taken from the novel The WIld Boys by Edgar Rice Burrows, is what the song is based on. The song was for the movie translation of the novel but the film fell through. 11/10 for the mighty duran duran.

I was fortunate enough to be part of the 80's music mash and the birth of the MTV generation , back when that meant so much more. Each song had substance and every video had its' own unique style. Now we can raise our banners high , all the while thinking to ourselves " what the hell is this one all about ?". Top notch vids like " Take on me by AH HA " , " Video killed the radio star by The Buggles " and " White Wedding by Billy Idol " are still classics to me . Good tunes and great vids , tnx.

You know when I saw this for the first time in the 80s... I thought it was brilliant, the song is still great. But the video makes me laugh now! It's so overdone! So many extras, the robot head, and so many props and costumes left over from the Mad Max films! DD still rule, but this video is just overblown... (I think Russell's work as a whole is incredible... however, for another example of Russell Mulcahy's overdone work see "War Song" by Culture Club).
