Here in Greece, it is already Saturday 0.30'. Half an hour ago I made my uploaded videos private and my favorites invisible. Of course, I also have a protest video playing in my channel for all the weekend. No Youtube for me then.
Here's a much better idea: Use Firefox with the Add-Block and NoScript add-ons; surprisingly, YouTube works fine without turning off NoScript, and the combination has the side effect of removing all ads, even the in-video ones.
I think this new idea is perfect for YouTube!!! I love the idea....example,,why pay cable or satellite providers when u can get it free on YouTube. When it got sued by people for infringement on music or copyrighted material it lost profit. So this new idea is a way to bypassing that and lets admitte that currently the channels do suck!! Most are teenagers.ut wants a more wide audience.why pay for cable when u can get it free from it.thumbs up yt
You tube has had to date 10% of channels close voluntarily &have moved on to Zippcast, which has been opened by OLD YOU YUBE lovers, It is identical to the old you tube channel with even better aps such as real time chat with your friends just like facebook has. It shows you whose online & you can interact with them if they wish to interact with you,The old YT home homepage layout is there It's NEW so it's a little slow that's due to the enormous number of new accounts opening over there. So glad you posted this video. Bravo! I cannot stand the new format and taking the personality out of ones channel. They changed mine (without asking) but I was able to change back. Alas however, gone are all of out friends that used to be visable. What would YT be without us anyway? Not much, that's for sure. Perhaps thousands or millions now have this new look and didn't ask for it, and yet are either too lazy to change back or just don't care.

I was told that my friends are now added to my subscribers but that is not true. I had 12,760 subscribers and 7,000 friends. Now I have no friends and still have 12,760 subscribers. I had friends that were not subscribers, where have they all gone? If my friends turned into contacts, where are my 7,000 contacts? I want them back. I don't like YT anymore.

This new design and changes totally bite! I read yesterday that YT and Disney are going into a partnership ... which is fine as I like Disney, but somehow I get the feeling this is all about making money, not the customer base ... which is all of US ... Netflix tried price gouging and lost thousands of subscribers, and their share price has plummeted form $300 to $70 ... all in 6 months ... YouTube will pay attention if it starts costing them MONEY.

Hi there you're absolutely right.New ytube is worst than ever.I Don't care for my channel because is very new but i had before another channel and i know.
I tested out the new channel design for nearly 2 days and found my video views dropped considerably, the new layout is so impersonal, I got between 1 and 10 subscribers every day with the old design....with the new design I got 1 in 2 days :( everybody please set your videos to private!...the silence will be DEAFENING!
All I can say is "Wow, what a shame." All of these changes are because of Goo Goo? Nice business strategy they thought up, huh? I see two dates for the boycott -- the 16th and the 19th. Has either date become the "official" date? I thought the new design was just a simple template spread across the board to make it less of an onus on the YouTube servers. I didn't realize there was some insidious motive behind it. Wow, what a shame. I support the boycott.
The more we protest, the more YT will laugh when they change it. In all the years before, YT just changed the design and didn't care about all the rage. It's just an "fuck you and get used to it" devise. Have fun having a hard time with YT guys. We will forget this anyway in the future. It's just no use, because YT won't delete all their work that actually costs them tons of dollars.

I was told that my friends are now added to my subscribers but that is not true. I had 12,760 subscribers and 7,000 friends. Now I have no friends and still have 12,760 subscribers. I had friends that were not subscribers, where have they all gone? If my friends turned into contacts, where are my 7,000 contacts? I want them back. I don't like YT anymore.

)----> YouTube seems to have combined Friend invites with Subscribe, so technically you can only have 2000 invites for both at the same time, i do not like this scheme what so ever. New musicians with new channels would suffer many lost potential views from this set up, considering that a portion of those potential friend invites would not accept the invitation sent to them, seems to me the new struggling musician would suffer many lost potential views and attention to their music..how sad !

The new layout is truly awful! and looks so cold.
The social aspect has totally gone, and everybody's channel looks the same, and you have to drill in or out, just to read the comments, and other info.

This new design and changes totally bite! I read yesterday that YT and Disney are going into a partnership ... which is fine as I like Disney, but somehow I get the feeling this is all about making money, not the customer base ... which is all of US ... Netflix tried price gouging and lost thousands of subscribers, and their share price has plummeted form $300 to $70 ... all in 6 months ... YouTube will pay attention if it starts costing them MONEY.

I tested out the new channel design for nearly 2 days and found my video views dropped considerably, the new layout is so impersonal, I got between 1 and 10 subscribers every day with the old design....with the new design I got 1 in 2 days :( everybody please set your videos to private!...the silence will be DEAFENING!

All I can say is "Wow, what a shame." All of these changes are because of Goo Goo? Nice business strategy they thought up, huh? I see two dates for the boycott -- the 16th and the 19th. Has either date become the "official" date? I thought the new design was just a simple template spread across the board to make it less of an onus on the YouTube servers. I didn't realize there was some insidious motive behind it. Wow, what a shame. I support the boycott.

The more we protest, the more YT will laugh when they change it. In all the years before, YT just changed the design and didn't care about all the rage. It's just an "fuck you and get used to it" devise. Have fun having a hard time with YT guys. We will forget this anyway in the future. It's just no use, because YT won't delete all their work that actually costs them tons of dollars.
