  • buy a HONDA

  • @Dipper509

and why would I do something stupid like that?

  • dude nice work on that!!...and how much hp did u get out of that turbo over stock?and what kinda mpg do you get? thanks!

  • Dude nice job. I love the idea of a geo turbo. :)

  • I have a question i am considering turboing my geo 1.0l the 1.3l and 1.0l have the same size TBI would a 1.6L vitara TBI flow more then the other TBI?

  • @zorrlander

Hey! To answer your question yes the G16 injector will flow more BUT the G10 ecu will not be able to control it, it will be pig rich at idle. The entire TBI assembly will not bolt up to the 3 cylinder manifold. I am almost finished with the turbo Swift GTi project and I will convert this metro to a 1.6 tbi on the 3 manifold, all will be controlled by megasquirt. I will document this project cause I get so many emails on how to turbo a geo!

  • @southwest82 thank you for your reply i have one more question for you.... What is the speed gov. set at for the geos? is their anyone that offers reflashing of geo ecu to remove the speed gov.? Thanks again! i really appreciate it, and good luck on your builds!

  • BALLIN MANIFOLD. HATERS KEEP HATIN

  • no engine building done?

  • you got some chicken shit on your manifold there lol

  • I want to see it run

  • Good job sir and if anybody hates they need a knife in their throat...

  • I was getting ready to hate, then you shocked me with your ingenuity! pulling different parts from different cars, fabricating things yourself, props bro!

  • that 89 saab intercooler is from the 900 T I believe. Your car weight as much as paper, get ready to fly!

  • nice work man.

  • lol... the car looks so good with the turbo and intercooler up front... but when you see the manifold...... ....... ...... lol Nah... Respects NEway to you man.

  • this looks fun for what it is ......but if these dudes were to get layed, they would ask themselves "why are we building a turbo geo"

  • 1 good weld is stronger than 10 shitty ones. atleast grind the welds down... you should have practiced welding on flat scrap steel first to set up the welder...

  • @88boyce

The hat was a 4 inch pvc cap, 2 inch hole bored into the side, 5 inch piece of 2 inch pipe, bondoglass and a whole lot of sanding

  • Dude that thing's gunna blow after a few runs. No way that wussy auto tranny, stock axels, and stock block can handle boost. Well.. I spose if you're going from 55hp to 100hp it probably could. But those 3 cylinders run real rough. And if the stock injectors are too small, you'll run lean and blow 'er up as well. But you probably have heard this by now. But did you build or even re-build the block or top end? I'd at least put the Swift 1.3 5-speed in there!

  • @quinnmyster

Sorry to tell you that it has been running strong for over 2 years now, not one hicup. did you see my new video of the 16v 1.3 Swift gti auto tranny I am building?? Oh, and the stock cn handle boost, same block used in the G10t chevy sprint turbo and pontiac firefly turbo, only they hd MPFI, I just have a larger injector in my TBI

  • @southwest82 Well dude that's awesome. Makes me wanna get a few hundred bucks and start makin one myself!! hahahaha... Such a sleeper.. hahaha.. If you had, like.. just 180hp you'd be tearin it up on most everything. Shoot.. my 2200lb Civic 1.5L VTEC 6psi Turbo beats nearly everything and I think I'm only doin about 155-165whp. Although I think if I DID get a Geo I'd probably try for a 4G63 or BPT swap. Have you looked into other motor swaps?

  • @southwest82 haha.. I still dig this car :D I can't believe it's gone 2 years!! I heard those 3-cylinders SUCK and always have issues!!

  • it's always fun to play with a car like this.. mostly because nobody does..

    Haters will always hate..

  • i respect u building ur car but just cant help but laugh at the welding on that manifold lol not that i could do a better job

  • @beejayprinting

Yeah, the welds sucked, I have got much better now

  • I love it...Anyone who has this much love for there car is ok with me..Dont really matter what kinda car they drive..jus as long as you got that love to hook them up..

  • @DaPersianPrince

Thanks for the props! Nice to hear someone appreciate the work and dedication, not necessarily the car

  • @DaPersianPrince Well said...

  • Stupid f-tards like Rusty. they will hate on everything and anything. The world would be a better place without people like him. Too bad there are lots of them. Anyways, like the project. Looks great. I know the manifold can be a major pita doing them your first couple times welding. just grind down the welds and pretty it up. you can run more passes over it and grind and gain to get the welds you want. Keep up the good work and dont let any idiots get you down

  • What you guys did is cool. The home fabed header looks dreadful but I rmember lerning to weld and doing things worse than that. One bit of advice to begining welders; Don't learn to weld on things you actually intend to use. Take a course or get an instructional video, or if possible befriend an experienced welder, and learn and practice first. Cool car guys, I'll bet its a blast to drive.

  • yoo..regardless of what car it is...obvisously they dont give a shit about it or they wouldnt be ripping it apart ..plus they not actually sinking money into it..maybe $100 dollars the most between the turbo&intercooler from a salvage yard..the car is a peice of shyt but their inproving they skills..something to fuck around with..this looks like it'd be fun to whip around and not care..not to mention raise a few eyebrows with flutterdump..

  • for those wondering why I have not removed 111rusty222 from the post, I just want to show everyone what an idiot some people can be, someone who cannot understand that this is just a project to learn the theory of turbocharging a car and the lessons learned from this can be applied to any engine large or small. People like 111rusty222 have the sad state of only being able to buy something that is built, not do it themselves. I pity him.

  • @southwest82 someones gotta build a turbo metro, props for getting it done. please dont hate on hondas though, they build great little cars. The riced out ones are gay

  • @southwest82 : Fisrt a geo metro is a simple , robust car, I add myself e turbo to a 95 metro, also add msd coil and other few thing , is faster yes it is, save gas , yes it does, it help me to understand how turbo works, of course, did i saw and improvement on perfomance of course, i will won nascar , i don;t think so, but it was fun, i'm still working on this little car because is my toy, I also have and impreza sti , but the geo can put, remove, add, cut and o problem

    so thank you

  • Hey, this shit is down....i was thinking of duin this my self to......hahaha emagine rolling next to a Gay Little Honda and Taking it! hahaha

  • Mat is sooooooo baked !!

  • He'd save more gas with an NA geo

  • @111rusty222 Have you actually taken anything and done a modification to it like these guys did. I saw your comment about putting a suzuki swift motor in, have you done it, or do you just talk? It looks to me like these guys had fun, spent very little, and wound up with something unique and cool. They havent bragged about how fast or that it will beat anything of yours , so whats your problem?

  • I don't like it. It's still slow and I don't care how much money you saved by not putting a 1000cc bike engine in it. Nothing special. You should of just sealed a suki swift 1.3 in it. Would of been faster. Guess what they have a turbo version as well so just direct bolt in. Duff reverse and ur gay turbo and 998cc geo give up how

  • @111rusty222

Ok, we know you don't like it, move along and drive your little honda. I am building a turbo 1.3 16v right not that is in my swift gti. I know they have a turbo 1.0, where do you think I got the idea to turbo this one? People like you make me shake my head, you think that the only good stuff is bolt on, you cannot appreciate when someone makes something out of random parts that works. I

    I pity you.

  • I drive a Audi a4 and a Kawi 636 when its nice out but then again whats wrong with a little honda... I would put money on a single cam civic being way faster then ur ghetto fab wast of time!!

  • @111rusty222

why do you still comment on my videos? you don't like what I have done, so what. Bought to ban you..

  • @southwest82 Good job banning him, and really great job on the turbo work! I've never seen a turbo Metro. Hmm, my buddy who's kind of a techie with these Geo/Suzuki/Mazda cars told me a good swap for these also is a Mazda BP-T engine.

  • @111rusty222 No video, no truth. Show it to prove it. At this point, my stock 40 year old Datsun pickup is faster than anything you own. If you don't think so, prove what you got. I have a video of mine.

  • @111rusty222 no one said anything about it being fast so PUNCH YOUR AUDI UP YOUR ARSE!!!!!!!

  • @111rusty222 you are the definition of a douche lol

  • @111rusty222 Lol, what do you drive, a Honda Accord wagon DX? ROFL.

  • I think it would be more of an accomplishment turboing an Accord Wagon with a MODERN fuel injected engine and bigger displacement. Id rather be seen in a 40 year old Datsun then a slow overbooster single cam Metro.. My whole argument was that there are so many ways to have a quick metro and this isnt one of them. The turbo 1.3 might be decent I guess but nothing special.. You could probably put 170HP down with a little work.

  • @111rusty222 It's not all about doing 5 second quarter miles and boiling the tires through 10th gear, okay? If this guy wanted a car that is EXTRAORDINARY on gas still and has a nice 7.5 pounds of boost RIGHT from the bottom of the tach, then that's his choice. And besides, the old Datsuns are ALL single cams.

  • i love when people see a car for what it can be, not only for what it is, or what people see it as....respect man

  • @1WAY2HIM well, remember that if he got the parts from a junkyard, this project probably cost him under $200. definitely worth it.

  • 0-60 in 27.6 seconds

  • geto fab lol

  • lol remove the BOV so people wont know its turbo'd.

then when you own anyone they'll feel like sheit, no offence. :D

  • good job man,i hope i can torbo charge my 95 civic cupe vtech, one day but it seems imposible every thing is to damn expensive now days,i only have corona dc sports heathers American Pro mufler and cold air intake i get 136 HP

  • I am supprised no one try to put 500 hp V8 engine in this little cars in US yet. They did v8 in a yugo in UK and V8 in a Suzuki Swift in Germany. That's what I call super fast little car. Almost like a F-1 race car. I could not even imagine how fast that shit would be. LOLO.

  • is that a carb or throttle body setup. i was thinking of doing this to my 93 geo hatch but im not sure about the carb setup.

  • How much horsepower gain did this get you?

  • bro you r too havy for that car

  • @ribak1983

lol, that is why we turbocharged it!

  • badass man

  • epic

  • i have the same turbo in my civic.

  • @killafox882

nice, bet that thing is like a rocket!

  • then stock clutches for the geo. Nice car though

  • I respect you for the hard work and a turbo geo is cool. Just saying with the GSX-R engine it would be a monster. I have a 94 geo 5 speed. What did you use for throttle body/injecter set up. You know they sell better

  • lol it's still slow, that's what I'm trying to get at. I think it would be hell of a lot cooler with a GSXR engine. Cheeper though. To do the turbo set up right you need to set up some kind of a stand alone fuel injection system includind a high pressure EFI fuel pump, I dought the geo TBI can handle it. Plus the tuning would cost a lot more. Why did you wast ur time on the turbo. You can get wet shot for 500. 100 times less work, and no lean spots in ur tune like with ur set up.

  • @111rusty222

"it's still slow, that's what I'm trying to get at." ITS A GEO, DUH!!! The turbo is done right, this is an EFI setup, not carb'd. For the last time, it is not cheaper to use a GSXR engine. MegaSquirt standalone is easy to use and does not leave lean spots. Sorry you do not have the capacity to appreciate someone's hard work to do something unique.

  • Sounds cooler is faster blah blah blah....yeah until you have to get out to Flintstone you ass in reverse. Motorcycle don't have reverse remember?

  • i almost wanna find a old 5 spd geo metro and try this now...

now you need a thicker metal headgasket, upgraded fuel management and run more boost lol

i think it would be funny as hell if i was cruising down the road and got smoked by a geo metro..

  • @dwnrety1

Those I smoke usually do one of a few things:

    1-flip me off

    2- do the loser flyby

3-flip me off as they do the loser flyby

4-hang back and don't try to pass

5- get up along side and say that is the #$^^&$ sweet!

  • hahahha i cant stop laughing! :D

  • dude iv always wanted to turbo a geo!!! dont listen to the retard, this could be on badass sleeper!!

  • this kicks ass! fuk all the haters! what turbo did you use??? i got a TB2543 turbo for my build. any pointers i could use, my car is a 1993 Honda Del Sol Si auto. thinking of running 4 or 5 psi

  • @DelSolRacer93

Your TB25 is the turbo I currently use, see my other video.

  • @DelSolRacer93 si's dont come auto

  • @treverleefrechette the DOHC VTEC never came out automatic, i have a SOHC VTEC, so i am one of the unfortunate Honda owners with an auto transmission.

  • @DelSolRacer93 oh foot in mouth ok man thanks for that info. didnt know that....

  • @treverleefrechette its all good

  • A+ for doing something diffent

  • ok maybe not cheeper however you could do a front wheel drive set up for cheaper. Im sure you can just use the front diff and have a custom sprocket to bolt on to it, then just run a short chain from the Gixxi sprocket to the diff one. Think about it though the gixxer 1000 engine weighs like 160 pounds and thats with the trans because its all in one housing!! Compare that to the stock geo engine trans weight. 160hp at the crank at 11000 sounds better then 65hp at 5000.

  • hey man this is a wast of your time, there is plenty of other CHEAPER ways to get that geo to be faster and cooler. For example a GSX-R 1000 engine in a mid engine rear wheel drive set up using a diff and independent suspention from say an older BMW M3. Turbo that shit and you'll see 1/4 mile in at least 13's for the same money you spend on a turbo set up.

  • @111rusty222

not a waste of time... and as for your idea of a gsxr engine setup with rear wheel conversion, do you have any idea how much that would cost to fabricate? this project cost me less than 500 and cut my 0-60 time in half. you are wrong to think a rear wheel conversion is cheaper.....sorry....

  • @111rusty222 lol the way ur talkin would be 10x as expensive and way more man hours, the turbo is probably the cheapest best gain for horsepower

  • @111rusty222 PWNED!!!!!!

  • i bet that thing hauls ass....i mean it weighs like 10 pounds lol!

    awesome build

  • Love the gorilla welds....ugly as hell but stronger than shit!

Nice job. Forget the buttheads who say it is a waste of time. You built it and made it work. They spend the day playing guitar hero or trying to look cool in their gramma's hand me down Civic. Keep up the good work. PS: I am the guy who built the Diesel Geo Metro.

  • @kimmer6

Thanks! I was going to try to do a diesel swap, but I just abandoned the idea for turbo gas engines. LOL @ the hand me down civic, I have dusted many of them!

  • omg what a waste of precious time to turbo this hahahaha

  • @josieonetoothh

How is this a waste of time? It works great!!! Nothing wrong with the fact that I built something from scratch.

  • @southwest82 some people just can't appreciate genius man. Don't let it get you down. Intriguing idea. :D

  • when you put the new turbo on, you should clean up that manifold. a little time with a grinder, and then hit it with hi temp black paint, or just heat wrap the whole thing.

  • @te37drift

did you see my other video? All the welds were ground with a carbide burr. oh, and ceramic paint will not stick to galvanized pipe!

  • thats sick im saving my money to do this to my 98 chevy metro itll be funny cuse ppl think u got a pusssy ass car and they will look under the hood and be like holyyyy shttt

  • @darklighter456 and then there like man i dun wanna race that! the turbo made it go from 0-60 in 28 sec to 0-60 in like 15 sec now!

  • how much would a cheap turbo build approx cost for this car?

I'm talking, cheap used turbo and bov from ebay, and anything else I could find used.

  • good luck with that :p i think that little motor will take forever to build up 20 pounds of boost tho :/

  • you sound like you hate your life

  • @sneeper65

I love my life, it was just a long day fabricating up piping, that and my lungs were full of weld plume....

  • haha, kool, how do you like your turbo!?

  • @NASTYTHEBOY

I was not impressed with the TD04-13, that is why I went to the Garrett T-25. I am building another turbo metro and am using a GT-15 turbo, 20psi... :)

  • Sweet! I love custom turbo setups on old cars. There's something about having to be creative and working with what you have that makes them more special than the big-budget builds.

  • ...now you need some 5 inch exhaust on his beast! Then you can scare old women and children.

  • You sound really excited about this build lol

    Man that manifold lol!

  • yeah, I was real tired, so I was not enthused with anything at that point. I was really not enthused when this setup popped the head gasket 500 miles later.... that is why I did the second build, see video.

  • love it geo metros are so cool

  • I simple love this car hahaha

  • if you liked this build, check the new build on this car!

  • Just powdercoat the manifold black, it'll hide the welds unless you get up close to it.

  • @snakesonaplane2:

I tried ceramic coating, and it would not bind to the metal. Every other pipe I have ceramic coated was fine, not this one. The only thing I can imagine is that the galvanized metal is causing an issue.

  • can i install a turbo in a polo 6n 1.0L is that is that possible and if yes do i get damage to my motor help me man

  • I am not familiar with that motor, but I have come to the conclusion that you can turbo nearly any motor provided you use proper fuel enrichment to prevent lean conditions.

  • i love custom chaos like this. i remember my first arc welds, thy looked horrible.

  • I was so ashamed of that manifold, to this day I have no idea how it held together. I was using 1/16 rods, not the primo rod. If you look at my new video, you will see the new manifold that was done using 3/32 7018 rods, I ground them down, but the weld had good penetration. Thing I love about the 7018 is when the amperage is just right, the slag almost falls off on its own. Chaos, such a fitting word for this project.

  • try using a different metal. i had to modify the 3" exhaust on my subie with an arc welder. the welds looked pretty good and had complete penetration. the 3/32 rods work well as they have a wider kerf width. i'm sure there are kits to make a manifold out there if you ever feel the need to upgreade.

  • if you look and my other video, you will see the new setup. I did use different metal and had little to no issues, just a little over-run now and then.

  • ok, cool! well i know the factory turbo on the (pontiac firefly turbo/ canada only car) its turbo was a "ihi rb32" and its kinda small. and i understand that. and what cam are you going to run?

  • and oh, SWEET! i have watched some other videos on here (youtube) and some turbo metros sound sweet, and some like crap! lol! but that sounds really cool! i can't wait to see the next vid! lol! and oh one other thing, this is a first time seeing someone turboing an auto metro! so this will be sweet!

  • I was worried about the whole auto/turbo thing, but it has been very solid!

  • hey man, its looking nice so far! but i would change to a diff intercooler, saabs and volvos suck big time! lol! and oh, another thing, i would change that exhuast manifold! the flow of it, is going to compermise your performance. i hope you get some good hp out of it! and oh, another thing, please don't make it sound like a stupid fart can! lol! good luck!!!!!!!

  • i meant different intercooler!

  • lol, I changed it. Also, I HATE the fart can cars, I am using a 2 1/4 inch exhaust with a resonator midline and a 6x10 glasspack at the tip. rumbly, but not ricey.

  • hey, thanks for the props! I am in the process of putting a T-25 on the car instead of the TD04. As for the manifold, I am limited to that due to a lack of a mandrel bender. The log manifold has worked well so far, the torque gain was amazing. I ordered a 27x5x2 intercooler that will sit low in the bumper, hope to have a video of that up by the end of the week.
