But it was the best half-marathon I'd had to that date, because it's easier if it's cold--and it was the only time I ever got a medal at the finish line--all the other times they ran out ( like 2009, this year! ) Thanks again, and sorry you guys were so cold. I was happy to have enough food at the finish line --even enough to take extras home, which i needed. (BTW, in 2009, why didn't they have bagels, bananas and apples, or did they run out this year! There was PLENTY in 2008! I feasted!
Thanks for posting this, and for having recorded it! I'm glad someone chronicled what we went through. Thanks to you volunteers, too, for all your efforts every year, too. HA! When I was walking through, one guy asked me, "You want some water?" With cold and rain water all around me, I wasn't thirsty nor hot. I was rolling my eyes, and he understood. "I know. You never want to see water again!"
This was my first marathon, and I had signed up for this back in October hoping for a beautiful day---it was "beautiful" compared to what I had to train in here in Chicago. Thank you for all you hard work and weathering the storm.
LOL! That was so funny. I did the 1/2 marathon and I can't tell you how thankful we all were for all of your hard work. Everyone was saying how great the volunteers were. And if we were cold walking & running, I can only imagine you were all FREEZING! Thank you! You were MUCH appreciated!!!
haha i just saw you video before your ran haha. thats cool you did that before your wedding. my group was one of the earlier water stations so im not sure who that was but that was really nice.
