I don't hate any stand up comedian because we all have different tastes in comedy,( if we all liked the same stand ups, there wouldn't be so many ) but i do think Jim Davidson is being very nasty about Jo Brand for no reason. I would have liked to see Lee Evans further up the list as he's one of my favourite, but thats just what i think :) Xx

And just to add to that, INVENTING new comedy is still inventing lmao. This idea of total originality is a farce anyway, we're the sum of our parts. And even 'new' inventions take hundreds of years of knowledge and ideas to get to X place.

So there's no reason to say a comedian hasn't invented anything anymore than any other field, it's ridiculous. In fact it's much more inventive than almost any other art form as it's your unique voice and perspective. And it's a craft.

John Moloney, that's ridiculous. Ben Elton is an amazingly talented writer, he moved into the area he's best at, be it comedy writing or musical writing. As for Queen playing Sun City, yes they did, in a mixed venue, to a mixed audience, where they spoke out against Apartheid on stage. It was an arrogant and stupid thing to do, but as Nelson Mandela seems to have forgiven the remaining two active members, "arch-political comedian" Ben Elton probably can too.
