The ''maturity'' for the avatar girls aren't off at all, the main cast just appears to be early bloomers, and that's not unusual by any stretch of the word.

@Lexia01 1: Puberty strikes individualy regardless of where one lives. My family and I are swedish, no where near america, thus my experience is completely independent from american influence. Some people are simply early bloomers, and Ty Lee (for example) just happens to be one.

I bet you're average sized just with a different build than most, for example I have a wider build (wide shoulders, wide stomach) but i'm an average height and weight even though i look fat. In times like ATAB is put in many people actually didn't get to see their royalty or if they saw them said royal people were too far away to see their faces clearly. While they may have heard about what Azula looks like her features are not uncommon in the fire nation (black hair gold eyes) So unless you were a person close to her in the palace her age (like ty lee and mai) you wouldn't know exactly what she looked like.
