  • Great video.....really useful! !! Thanks

  • @lexusfan100

not sure, i'll guess it will be similar.

Lexus fan? I'm soon to own a Lexus myself--can't wait.

  • @timetotravel ooh ok,,.,ya its a Es300..what lexus are going to have..

  • im glad to stick to 850 volvo s that looks like a pain to change ( WHAT A MESS) more advanced volvo with that type oil filter wow makes me sad!

yeah if you onw a volvo you better do your own work !!! dealer man will clean you right out of your cash QUICK...

  • i changed my oil and it wont start but the light symbol of the oil is on and idk how to fix it

  • should I keep the car on the jacks when the oil is draining or should the car be on all four wheels?

  • @icklearly I always keep the car on the jacks when draining.

  • senin ben amin koyim gotveren

siktir git yoksa sokarim sana o oliepijlstoku tog veren

  • Awesome! take good care of your volvo.. and it wil last for ever ;)

  • @intricateintac Sorry dude. I've not got a diesel. The vids here are me working on my own car.

  • You're a good talker.

  • i have a o1 volvo s80 t6 twin turbo, what kind of oil shouild i use? thanks

  • @avolikk Good question. Many purists will recommend synthetic. I used to use only that, but now that my car is worth just a few thousand--i use cheaper stuff. I generally only use Castrol GTX. I'll make the bold statement that i'm not sure there's really a difference. I suggest doing some more research.

  • Can I use the same tool for a volvoxc90?

  • @MoniWooOOooooOOOOOOW Good questoin. I recommend calling IPD USA (where i buy most of my stuff) and ask them.

  • I hearr ya jjulier1 and tahanana21,

When this car was worth 40K it got synthetic, not that it's worth a few thousand, it gets what it get's

  • you need a new drain plug seal too

  • What is the torque setting for the crush washer? On a $40,000 car I cannot see using anything but synthetic. Otherwise, well done.

  • Volvos require synthetic oil , its very foolish of you to use cheapest version of castrol.

  • @Tahababa21 All Volvo dealerships use Castrol GTX, which isn't a synthetic oil.

  • where do u work at ....where are u located

  • Good job mate. However, you did neglect to mention the inclusion of the aluminium crush washer on the sump plug. This is required to prevent leakage from the sump plug. If you buy your oil filter from a Volvo parts department, they will include a washer for an extra $1. I previously bought my oil filters from Canadian Tire and they didn't include the washer, and I'd wonder why my oil would leak. And as a bonus the price is right too:

  • @emk5:

Fram oil filter from Canadian Tire - approx $24 CAD

Genuine Volvo part with washer - $16 CAD

  • Nice informational video, about how heavy is the pan on the bottom?

  • @418casey

The stone guard is 3-5 pounds, it's not real heavy, but a bit bulky. i comes off easy, but getting it back on is a bit of a pain--you have to crawl underneath the car, position the guard to align the bolts, and---bolt it back on.
