We need to adopt the systems they have in europe and get aome real competition in the USA. Comcast dish and Frontier do not compete with one another, they have the same bullshit plans, and the same bullshit prices. Japan and Europe have 100 times more cable, and 50 times faster interest net and phone for 29.99 a month.
the only way to fight bad isps is to stop buying your service from them. currently the only reason some people are only allowed to have certain isps is because government is payed off to only allow com cast to set up shop in certain areas. and as long as government stifles free market and competition. Comcast is the biggest piece of shit internet service i've ever had. They may be fast, but they're completely unreliable, constantly losing connection even after contacting them and having their techs out here replacing modems, etc. Just watching this video and posting this reply i've lost connection twice. I got rid of Comcast after they started dropping my cable TV channels. They tried to scam me into buying digital cable! They tricked a few of my relatives and boy did they get PISSED when their bills went up! It didn't take me long to find a local smaller business providing internet service for cheap that's still fast enough for my Vonage to work. So right now I have phone and internet for $50. That's half what Comcast charges before fees. I don't have TV, but I'm looking at dish or FIOS.

I logged on to savetheinternet website and tried to email my representative on that site. You have to decipher a code (to ensure you are not a machine) but that code never loaded!!! Fishy. I'll call tomorrow instead, apparently calls represent more constituents than emails anyway.

Because if it's gonna be FiOS (and you will be able to tell if it is, they'll have assloads of utility trucks unloading fiber and putting up multi-user nodes to provision new customers off of), then you're really lucky. Verizon isn't as much of a huge bully that Comcast is, so you have that to look forward to, at least.

I got rid of Comcast after they started dropping my cable TV channels. They tried to scam me into buying digital cable! They tricked a few of my relatives and boy did they get PISSED when their bills went up! It didn't take me long to find a local smaller business providing internet service for cheap that's still fast enough for my Vonage to work. So right now I have phone and internet for $50. That's half what Comcast charges before fees. I don't have TV, but I'm looking at dish or FIOS.

I logged on to savetheinternet website and tried to email my representative on that site. You have to decipher a code (to ensure you are not a machine) but that code never loaded!!! Fishy. I'll call tomorrow instead, apparently calls represent more constituents than emails anyway.

FUCK. they just came to my door today to update my service next week.there are currently no other options in my area for broadband..they said the system is going through changes with phone service and whatnot and they need to work on the lines and add a new "blackbox"
are they fucking with me? I heard Verizon is coming here soon, maybe i'll make the switch, but are they any better? at this point big brother controls everyone.

When you say "Verizon is coming here soon", do you know if it's DSL or FiOS? I'd switch either way if I were you, but I'm just wondering how competitive things are going to get.
Because if it's gonna be FiOS (and you will be able to tell if it is, they'll have assloads of utility trucks unloading fiber and putting up multi-user nodes to provision new customers off of), then you're really lucky. Verizon isn't as much of a huge bully that Comcast is, so you have that to look forward to, at least.

the main problem with this is that people are just starting to wake up about the illuminati and dictatorship that we are in. the internet is our only resource for learning about this stuff to defend ourselves. if the internet is taken away then we will see multiple attacks similar to 9/11 because they can get away with it, as there would be no place online left uncensored/unwatched by the government.

This brings up the issue of provider availability: where I live, it's Comcast, period. FIOS is in California, and they didn't even answer my e-mail when I asked them if they have any plans to expand into Washington state. Verizon is in a nearby city, but they haven't expanded their network the five miles into the county that would be necessary for me to have Verizon.
Don't diss people because they take the only option open to them.

Here In NYC They Advertise Around Every 10 Minutes, Including Spanish Channels, With Their Music Jingle On How "Great" Their Services Are. The Ads Have Become So Annoying That I Change The Channel Until The Commercial Is Over, True Story. Now They Cry On How They Have To Manage Their Network In Order To Provide Sufficient Speeds.
Comcast, Maybe Should Invest Those Millions Of Dollars Invested In Ads And Use It For Network Upgrades To Handle Your Growth And Stop Trying To Take Shortcuts.

I have to wonder if a class action suit can be filed against Comcast for blocking a persons right to free speech and free association using such tactics.
In a fair and just republic it is the people that have rights and not corporations. Institutions don't have any inalienable rights only people do and when corporations are allowed to interfere with these right the corporations should loose their license and be forbidden to conduct business, because it is working counter to the common good.

there's no real "free market" or competition in the broadband business, many areas like mine do not have a choice between 2 or more different broadband providers. i either go with comcast or go back to slower dsl/dial-up. that's why its important comcast not get away with crap like this, or decide to block p2p traffic, because we'll just have to sit here and take it

They are blocking certain kinds of internet traffic, and if you go over a predetermined bandwidth limit that they set up which they don't tell their customers about they will temporarily turn off your internet service. Its has happened to my friends before. I am glad I don't have Comcast!

SaveTheInternet, A few years ago Comcast was also caught snooping on private communications over the internet. When you bought a comcast subscription, they gave you a CD that would install snooping software that told them more than they should know. You didn't have to install it, but most people didn't know that, so they installed it. Then later there was a backlash. Just thought I'd mention it.
