Active duty military, spouses and their kids get in absolutely free on top of sellout crowds who are buying tickets in the hundreds of dollars. In other words, if it sells out each day military still walk in free, on top of the ticket buyers, without any reserved ticket. Who knows what the crowd size will be? Prepare for a logjam of people walking the skinny Ocean Course area. Military should indeed get a discount but free is harsh on people spending big money for entry with crowds unknown.
