run to see "The Reader"...a brilliant, slick, intelligent and provacative film....NOT for kids or PERVS..the best female performance since Sophie's Choice...wish her co-star, David Kross was nominated.....fun post...OCONNOR-OPRAH....OPRAH OCONNOR...have a fab day, you guys....kate & me...xx
to continue about Ralph Fiennes..had a Fiennes fest watching The Reader, The Duchess and Bernard and Doris along with a couple of others. have you seen Bernard and Doris? fabulous. That man can tell you what his character is thinking with his face...no words necessary. He is underrated. I think he is amazing.
I am so GLAAD Sean won the Actor last night. his speeches are so great. so he is back with Robin but still hangs out with Lindsay? hmmm- Meryl's speech too was fab! love it she was surprised.
anyway, noms...Kate was the lead in the reader and Nina, you will love love love it and her. Ralph Fiennes and other characters should have been nominated too. surprised Cate didn't get nominated for Benjamin and such a great year for nominations. even as Sean and Meryl said people got overlooked.
i cannot cannot cannot believe i missed another live blog! damn it...can you give days notice so i don't miss it?? either that or skype with me or something ()*()U&()&") lol (that was grace)
Ryan I can't believe Leonardo is not nominated because he is brilliant in that movie! I'm not saying he should win the Oscar, I'm just saying he should have not been overlooked!
There are caucasians in Slumdog Millionaire (The Gameshow host just to name a few). I kinda don't get the whole Slumdog craze. I mean, it was good, but it's not as good as Hollywood has made it out to be. I have to watch the other four nominated films to give my true opinion as to whether it does deserve best picture or not though. Great show guys! Love the Milk Whistle Nina!
Awards season is the only reason I tolerate winter, I can not wait for the Oscars! Best Actress is gonna be Kate I feel, it is her year. I loove Angie but Kate is just a knock out. Best Actor I wish would go to Sean but I have a feeling Frank will get it. Supporting Actress I think will go to Marissa and Heath will get Supporting Actor. I hope Milk gets all the rest it can, even if Slumdog will get Best Picture. And last I want Wall-e to get Best Animated. I am excited for the live show!
I agree with Nina regarding Bruce not being nominated! I think it is an unwritten rule that basically anything the boss does has to be nominated for something! :)
Im have been the worst movie goer this year--i havent seen any of the movies that I should have seen. i watched a documentary on Harvey Milk on logo years ago and need to see it. And Hey Nina, Im an old subscriber but recent commentator. James Franco is gorgeous. Get him on your show Ryan!
Hey Ryan - I am so excited about the nominations. One correction - Adriane Lenox won the Tony for Doubt, not Viola Davis. But I am SO rooting for Viola too.
Ryan I hate to pull Broadway Tony foul on you, but Viola Davis did NOT win her tony award for Doubt, that was Adrienne Lennox, Viola won for King Hedly II!
YAY! YOU'RE FIRST! HERE, HAVE $1,000,000! A HUGE CAKE! AND A FREE TRIP TO VEGAS! AND ALL YOU DID WAS BE THE VERY FIRST PERSON TO COMMENT! Because, you know, it's SO special to be the first commenter.
By the way, Ryan, I will SO be at your live show tonight. :D
Viola Davis won her Tony for a different play. Adriane Lenox won it for Doubt and she's going to be in The First Wives Club musical!

also Kate was amazning in Revolutionary Road as well. I enjoyed both movies and am surprised Leo didn't get a nod for his work in it.
