You know...I think they should either COMPLETLE Change the Megaman Series or stay the way they were before...I hate the halfassed shit capcom always brings out when continuing old series(except Street Fighter, love SF4). Also does Sega with Sonic. I don't get it, maybe they should ask Nintendo for help? They're the best proof, that getting old games into next gen Consoles is possible! I mean, look at Mario, Zelda, Metroid, DK, Kirby, Pokemon

There IS a point to a review for this game, you know. Don't label this a review if it isn't.

For instance: Megaman Anniversary Collection on the Gamecube swaps the A and B buttons, so if that bothers you, you might want to get it on PS2. And that's just a sample of what could be said about the title.

My biggest complaint about the Mega Man Anniversary collection for Gamecube was how they screwed up the button layout. They made the 'B' button jump and the 'A' button shoot. BACKWARDS. I find myself getting killed over and over because of this. Why did Capcom screw up the controls? Or why didn't they at LEAST have a control configurartion? It ruins the whole awesome collection.

If you use B to jump and Y to shoot, eventually you get used to it. Don't ever use A to shoot unless you're charging the shot.

Powered Up was really cheesy. Totally changed the spirit of the original Mega Man. No wonder Capcom didn't do remakes of the other 5 NES Mega Man games.

Its a double fucking standard, on one hand the NES megaman games are looked at with nostalgia tainted googles and are remembered fondly, even though its the same game, six times in a row. Yet when Megaman X8 comes out DOHOHO ITS SHOWING ITS AGE 2.0 RATING BAM. Make up your damn minds, the X series has changed more than the classic series. Just because its old doesnt mean it deserves a higher score.

There's no double standard. 1-3 were the best games as they were all quite different from each other. 4-6 was when all the FORMULA happened, and even then they STILL played better than any of the ones afterward so despite their mediocrity they're still looked upon fairly highly.

7 was OK, but 8 was absolute crap.

The Only 2 i've never played are 7 and Mega Man & Bass. 2 and 9 are the cream of the crop if you ask me. 3 is a tad overrated...Good game, but the slowdown, the horrible robot masters(besides snake man) hurt the experience. the slide was a nice addition as well as Rush and ProtoMan and those wicked Wily Return stages for those 4 Robot masters...but eh, the music was a step down from MM2 as well and overall it had a more serious and darker tone to it. MM5 and 6(especially) are totaly mediocre...

MM4 still retained a bit of that MMvibe, but in ways lost it. it was 'ok', but MM5 and MM6 just didn't feel like Mega Man at all. But i could easliy say the same about 8....the best thing about that game were the boss battles, that aside....jump, jump, slide, slide rinse repeat.lol As for the first, it's still a classic but it's obviously not up to snuff as some of the others. Really wondering how mm7 and MM & Bass are.

Wow. I thought Gamespot sucked ass, but man.

It's sad that they actually had to cheat at most points. Take a look at parts where the enemy starts with less than 1/3 health and they start with full, like Snake Man for example, only to get their health knocked down to less than a third before they actually kill the boss.

@OldGamerStuff Well just recently I got the Gamecube version of Mega Man Anniversary Collection again and I found away around the controller button flaw buy using a SNES Retroport controller adapter I got from RetroUSB (aka Retrozone) that lets me use any SNES controller as a Gamecube controller meaning Y is fire and B is jump (A and B are the same swapped wrong) The Mega Man X Collection however you can config the controls meaning the SNES buttons can be mapped to the SNES MMX versions.

i'm having a problem with this game. im trying to unlock stuff in the Secrets section, but certain stuff just won't unlock! for example, i tried to unlock The Power Battles by beating Megaman 3, and, of course, it didn't unlock! (i have the gamecube version btw)
