Final score was Dallas 34, Washington 24. Washington (Nixon's team) was 11-1 going into this game but lost (here to Dallas) and then Buffalo the next week to finish the season 11-3.
Revenge: Washington knocked Dallas out of the playoffs 2 weeks later, 26-3.
The Skins made it to the Super Bowl but lost the 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only undefeated NFL team ever.
The 70s Redskins were very good but didn't win a SB til the 80s. I think Nixon was friends with coach George Allen.
Julie sounds like me when I'm trying to talk to my dad while he's watching a game. Sound interested, even if you're not. Your daddy will appreciate it. xD
I love this thing "Dig, dig, dig...son of a bitch...". I can certainly sympatize and must admit I've said similar things to my TV while watching football over the years.
To my knowledge, Nixon only had one room at Camp David bugged, his study (where he sometimes met with advisors, etc.). So apparently Nixon had his people bring a TV set into his study so that he could watch the game. Any talking in the room would be picked up by the bug, even non-political things like this.
Julie sure loved her Father. I have a fondness for Nixon though I am a leftist. At least he was bright and had some leadership skills.

Too bad there isn't tape of Nixon's reaction to the Dolphin's bumbled field goal attempt in that seasons SuperBowl.
