Wrong, the police can't draft and pass legislation and aren't the ones drafting and passing legislation making video taping "law" enforcement illegal. It goes much higher than that. The police are merely instruments of those with the real power. People's failure to recognize this is exactly why they can and will get away with it. The future is a jack-boot stamping on the human face forever and at this point, there is nothing anyone can do about it. We failed, our children. RIP
Cops are Constitution-trashing felons who have extreme contempt for both the taxpayers who pay their salaries and the laws which they are paid to uphold. The problem is that nobody polices the police. These dumb macho shit-heads are rarely held accountable for their felonies, hence their propensity to perpetrate them. When you hand an insecure, bullied, low-IQ loser a minuscule amount of unregulated power and authority he will abuse it to the hilt to compensate for his inadequacies.
For each police crime caught on video, there are thousands of others which are not so memorialized. Millions of innocent taxpayers have been victimized by pompous, corrupt, inept, political-hack cops. Police officers believe that they are the most significant people on Earth, even though most could not get hired to clean toilets in the private sector, which has legitimate hiring and retention requirements.
Police officers are sanctimonious frauds who hide behind a facade of law and order. They are lying cowards who never admit to their own crimes, yet frequently try to frame innocent people for crimes which they did not commit. Cops are not interested in upholding laws, only in illegally enriching themselves and stroking their unwarranted god complexes, faux blue-collar hero vanities, and unjustifiably inflated egos. Police officers ruin lives just to feed their petty tyrannies.

You hit the nail on the head, mate. Did you hear about that time a cop beat this mentally ill defenceless homeless guy to death simply because he was wondering around in the street confused (since he is mentally ill) this perverse, sadistic power is getting out of hand.
im not powerless, i have guns XD. On a serious note these laws sound on the verge of a constitution breach and just reek of wrong... In my country we can record police whenever the hell we want and for them to seize our recordings in 100% ILLEGAL
This just proves that the Justice system and the Congress are the bad guys. The Justice system is bullshit because they punish more good people and let the villans get away with it. During the BP oil spill, BP oil company asked the Congress if they can still drill oil and the Congress gave them permission. The president however is trying his best to bring peace and justice to the world which the Congress and justice system the rich bastards aren't doing.
@GottaLoveTheHorrors It's not ilegal, you just get arrested anyway???? We have laws against corrupt pigs *(cops) but more and more they seem to get ignored? I sincerely hope that these pigs get nailed. As far as videotaping goes, just wait...
Wow, that's really messed up. Laws that facilitate such police brutality have the potential to send us back to the 60s, where police brutality was often perpetrated (usually for racist reasons).
AGAIN? I was watching the news about 2 weeks ago in Rochester NY and this happened with a woman on her own lawn filming an arrest on her iPhone. She was investigating racial profiling. They arrested her.
good & bad cops both have badges uniforms and guns. 50% of cops are bad we have too many laws protecting the policeman and none protecting the citizen from the police so we may need carry guns to protect ourselves from policeman because you cannot tell a bad cop from a good cop I'm not going let a policeman killed me When I was young most everyone like the police I am 68 YO now most everyone hates the police. Now days how can you tell a good policeman from a bad policeman
This is the Very reason I carry around my camera, I never know what will happen and I reserve the right to protect myself, even by means of recording audio and visual. If you walk in front of my camera Oh well I record my life so don't be stupid in front of me. It's not right that they are trying to pass that law.
CONT: The reason they want to outlaw the practice of filming police is because an arrest that requires the use of force (deadly or otherwise) in the hands of a mob of people not understanding how arrests work can turn an ugly even even uglier.
Rodney Kings beating, THAT was police brutality. Cops having to tazer and to use billy clubs on someone who just got finished killing a family so they can arrest him without having to kill him is NOT police brutality, but both scenarios show "brutality".
My landlord, who is a police officer for Providence, RI, agrees with this video. He knows that there are a few bad cops out there that need to have their badges removed. And we need vigilant citizens to keep these corrupted cops in the spotlight.
HOWEVER, please do not mistake "police brutality" with an arrest that may require the use of batons and tazers. Sometimes a cop MUST hurt someone to save they suspects life. Better a baton to the side of the head than a bullet.
Finished the video, and i will not answer this call, the Law office and officers, and Big wigs believe then self to be above the law, Any one that speaks out against them will have major consequences not limited by the law, they could do anything they want to you. so a smart person will just stay hidden, invisable, because we have no freedom, so dont tip the boat or even claim that you do have rights, dont get on their Radar.

Cops can now arrest people because the person filmed them comitting a crime!??!!?, that's fucked up, definetly The Police Department or Law Enforcement Agency are probably tryying to get people to stop filming acts of police brutality so that fellow cops don't get in trouble and so that their Department doesn't get in trouble.
funny how we have surveillance cameras covering all kinds of things that us free citizens are "banned" from filming in public. i see a future in secret spy cams for average folks.
@undertakerfreak1127 How the police officer raped your wife, stole everything valuable you have, and beat you up to a pulp. You don't have a right to object to *that*.
Wouldn't this law be unconstitutional anyway? Its violating the 1st amendment, and it is preventing the government from providing domestic tranquility and providing for the common defense. People wouldn't feel safe in their own homes, and there would be chaos on the streets as these cops beat up innocent people.
I see what youre saying but I dont care to be honest. Who do I care more about, the police officer who, although brutal, is making the city a better place to live in for respectable, hard working members of society, or some peice of shit who would steal all of my things in a heartbeat or some drunken idiot. I think I'll take the brutal cops.
@sylentknyte That's absurd. You're saying you'll overlook all the stupid shit they do and the laws that they use to hide the stupid shit they do just because they protect and serve? What about when they go beyond that and venture into said stupid shit? Congratulations.
@undertakerfreak1127 If they're exploiting the law on legit criminals, why not. It wasn't long ago that thieves, paedophiles, rapists or murderers would be driven to remote locations and have the shit beaten out of them, at least where I live. And you know what, they're scum. Now if its used for say a hate crime, a form of racism or homophobia or something of the like that is indeed intolerable.
@undertakerfreak1127 There are many, many grey areas in all things. As long as theyre getting "bad" people off the streets I couldnt care less. Youre all about having far out stances on things, well thats mine. Imo once you feel you have the right to take something someone else is entitled to, you lose your rights as a human being. Whether thats a $5000 tv they saved up for, their innocense, their life it doesnt matter to me. There are too many criminals and not enough cops.
@undertakerfreak1127 I just want a world where I can feel my children will be safe. This isnt that world, so I dont plan on bringing life into it. At least cops for the most part make is slightly better, even the corrupt ones (obviously some dont but theyre the exception not the rule).
@sylentknyte Cops are only as good as their responses. Cops can be a fix, but they can't be the prevention. Case in point: Any crime that's ever been committed.
You're right - this world is unsafe. Until people stop being criminals, we'll have a police force and a few crooked cops thrown in. Trade-offs I guess.
plenty of people have taped random traffic stops... you shouldn't make odd assumptions just to drive your point. still love ya though. WHAT YA DRINKIN THIS TIME?
@deedoyday You shouldn't miss the point completely. That's more important. What would you be more apt to catch on camera - a traffic stop while you're driving down the road, or a group of cops kicking the shit out of someone?
@undertakerfreak1127 of course, i would rather catch the latter, but i would say that the latter happens less than the first, so i feel like more people would catch the random traffic stops.
@Negate21 Exactly. I don't want to jump the gun too far, though. It'd be nice if people would stand up if these laws come through their locations. On the surface, the wiretapping laws look fine - until they bust you for recording a cop throwing a guy into a wall repeatedly.
I love that you hang your T-shirts on hangars. :-) Get one of those tiny cameras - "muvi" and learn how to remove the chip quickly and put it under your tongue.
@undertakerfreak1127 - cool! Like'd your vid - keep up the good work - led zepplin, old scorpions and tool gotta be bands ya like surely as well. Filming outdoors in the urban jungle might be more distracting, but might also be a way to expose and discuss the urban open-prison factor... and provide your viewers with some better eye candy than your wardrobe... like for example this police camera rant cutting some footage like that cop kicking the shit out of that guy in houston..
@AmusingYeti I don't recall saying "fuck the police" in the video, so I'm guessing I'm not included in that.
It doesn't mean our police force can't be decent all across the board. Sure, they keep order, but some cops know that we have no alternative and take advantage of that.
@undertakerfreak1127 Not directed at you. There was a responder below saying how he has no respect for any law authority. The problem is any law force will always be made up of good individuals and bad individuals. Certain people join the police for the fact they obtain power over the people around them. They enjoy this and let it get to their heads. I fully agree with this video; censorship of police should never happen. Why it was even proposed is beyond me.
The United States of America, a state slowly growing more and more Fascist, yet still claim democratic freedoms...I Call B.S. I find it purely asinine that the government has the audacity to pull this crap...I understand there can be fabrications on both sides but nowadays...it is impossible to tell on both sides of the coin.
I wish the rest of America was this smart.

Mayors and City Counsel cutting police pay and benefits, gotta make it up to them somehow.

@bathroommonkey76 I can respect that. It makes sense.

99 percent of cops give the rest a bad name.

@Negate21 No, this isn't a national law. Hasn't even really been suggested as a national law... Yet.
12 states are on board, what's stopping more from jumping along for the ride?
undertakerfreak1127 6 months ago
I'm pretty sure in IL it is illegal to record a officer, kinda disgusting.

Well, obviously, such cops don't want to lose their jobs for shoving a floor lamp up a guy's ass and ripping his intestines out.
That would be too embarrassing! They don't want people to know that they just may be too fucked up to be on the police force in the first place.
It's simply so they can have an easier time doing whatever the hell they want.
BlackSabbathRockR19 6 months ago
People say "fuck the police" now; but you will be singing a different tune when a man kills your loved ones and burns your house to the ground.
Yes it is a ridiculous system but it is all you have between order and anarchy.
AmusingYeti 6 months ago
@AmusingYeti Hey get over it.
Whining about it won't do a damn thing.
ErinTurco21 6 months ago
@AmusingYeti I don't recall saying "fuck the police" in the video, so I'm guessing I'm not included in that.
It doesn't mean our police force can't be decent all across the board. Sure, they keep order, but some cops know that we have no alternative and take advantage of that.
undertakerfreak1127 6 months ago
