Mothers Day 2010

It took a visit to your channel for me to find this which is why I am responding so late! I have a problem with mothers day. It should not take a day to show or tell someone you love and appreciate them and what they do for you. This reading has allowed me to re-vamp what Mother's Day is and from now on, this is how I will celebrate it. As a tribute to what a mother stands for; care, support, love, guidance and never-ending strength. Big bear hugs to you, sista!

Well said. Most people have no clue where Mothers day came from.

I stopped participating in corporate holidays years ago. I do plenty for my family. I just don't do so on a schedule that's dictated by corporate america.

That idea would beat the hell out of the commercialism that is Mothers day. I'll go for that in a heartbeat. Thx for sharing.

Personally i've spend a part of mothers day thinking about my mother who died last year. Amongst a lot of memories i've also thought about the irony of our relationship. She was the one who gave me life, on the other hand i got the disease that killed her from her, and it's probably gonna kill me before time as well. Ain't life a bitch.

Thanks for the history on Mother's Day, I honestly never knew any of this. It's sad to say how commercialized this holiday has become, like almost every other holiday we've got floating around now (any chance to make a buck or two).

I consider things like Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. as "hellmark holidays". All they've become are days for parents to demand material goods from their children, and if they don't get anything, they save it as ammunition to deny you something later.
