@ih8faggots1000 Clearly you have some difficulty reading, so I'll spell it out. Intelligence showed that there was a distinct possibility of Iraq harbouring WMD. Post invasion no WMD was discovered. Intelligence seems to have got it wrong. Certainly Powell admitted that the intelligence showing uranium purchases from Niger was flawed. If you have evidence that WMD was found or that a nuclear weapons programme had been maintained post the first Gulf War, kindly provide properly sourced evidence.
@ih8faggots1000 Clearly, you are a seriously disturbed individual. I do not intend to engage in further conversation unless and until my original question is responded to.
@ih8faggots1000 Pathetic!! Please, please do not make assumptions about my views on Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Al Queda or other terrorists. You have already made a wrong assumption about the country in which I reside. If you are unable to answer the original question, please simply say so and then we can both stop wasting each other's time.
@ih8faggots1000 I am more than willing to discuss your proposition once you have answered my question. It's becoming obvious that you are one of those people who hope to antagonise others into digressions by ad hominem attacks. I'm afraid it will not work.
@homeboy7697 So now, we go searching for Saddam's phantom weapons in Iran and Syria? Who do we bomb first? And once again when we fail to find Saddam's WMD's in that country, that just means that country (once again) managed to sneak them out without our knowing. But bombing all those Middle Eastern countries makes the world a *safer* place because once all the brown people are dead, no one will be left to attack us.
I've never seen such a terrified bunch of clueless racist weenies in my life.
@homeboy7697 So far, you've told me that George Bush has "made the world a safer place for you and your children", despite allowing Saddam's stockpiles of WMD's to be spirited out of the country to God only knows where, possibly into the hands of Iran or Syria Have I got that right?
@homeboy7697 With all the spy satellites watching Iraq 24/7, Saddam was able to move "stockpiles" of chemical weapons, any trace of a nuclear program, and "mobile weapons labs" all without us seeing? And of course, NO ONE in the Bush Administration has ever claimed what you're claiming (that Saddam was able to sneak everything out of the country, and only Cheney has ever tried to claim Saddam was connected to 9/11, which he later tried to deny.)
@homeboy7697 It is easy to remain uninformed when you refuse to watch the video. THERE WERE NO MOBILE LABS.
As I said, the only chemical weapons found were worthless leftovers from 1991. Saddam did NOT "fund 9/11", nor did the hijackers "train in Iraq".
I find it remarkable that anyone still believes to this day that Saddam was behind 9/11. The ONLY reason we invaded Iraq was so Junior could "finish the job" to impress his Daddy. Bush was on the Iraq warpath LONG before 9/11.
@homeboy7697 OMG this is sad. You need to believe Saddam was involved with 9/11 because if he wasn't, that mean Bush lied to you and mired us in an unnecessary war based upon lies.
So where are the WMD's? Where's the nuclear program? If Saddam was behind 9/11, what was bin Laden's role? How come none of the hijackers were Iraqi's? Why has EVERY member of the Bush Administration DENIED ever suggesting Saddam was behind 9/11?
@homeboy7697 You have kids? Based on your comments, I'm certain you were in diapers when 9/11 took place.
Saddam was not involved in 9/11. Bush, Cheney and the rest did their best to let people come to that false conclusion because it gave them public support to invade Iraq. But after the invasion, when people started asking questions, they vehemently DENIED they ever made the claim. Sadly, it seems you never got the memo.
@homeboy7697 My god. Bush said no link. Cheney said no link. The 9/11 Commission said no link. But maybe you'll believe your buddy:
"When asked about a poll that indicated nearly 70% of respondents believed the Iraqi leader probably was personally involved [in 9/11], Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld responded, "I've not seen any indication that would lead me to believe that I could say that," - Donald Rumsfeld in USAToday, Sept 16, 2003.
@homeboy7697 Please explain to me just HOW Iraq was "a threat to our security"?
The fact you continue to call Rumsfeld "Dr" despite the fact he doesn't have a PhD, already shows a total disconnect from reality, so my hopes for a sane response aren't exactly high.
@homeboy7697 Bwahahaha. First, search my archive for "mobile weapons labs". And the only "chemical weapons" found in Iraq were *disposed* of munitions from the 1991 Gulf War buried in the sand, which lead investigator David Kay described as "about as dangerous as any chemical you'd find under your bathroom sink. Not deadly, but you wouldn't want to drink it." Pathetic.
@homeboy7697 Mmm... no. Iraq did not have an active WMD program. Not only did they not have the "stockpiles" the Bush Administration claimed, they didn't even have the facilities nor materials to produce them.
I've noticed that the biggest defenders of the Bush Administration never have their facts straight (no coincidence.)
@homeboy7697 First, Rumsfeld does not have a PhD and therefore is not a "Doctor" of anything.
Second, Rummy helped lead this nation into an unnecessary war based on questionable "intelligence" from an informant called "Curveball", and Iraqi exile Ahmed Chalibi, who the Bush Administration latter accused of being "an Iranian spy" when the "stockpiles of WMD's" he promised were there, weren't.
Over 4,000 American troops died in a war Rummy was clueless on how to extricate ourselves from. Safe?
Rumsfeld is right. Stuff just does happen sometimes and it is beyond our control. Better not to go into Iraq and afghanistan though as they have no intention of embracing democracy. Better to just bomb them from the air.
@DLPBurke you fucking insensitive and uncaring creature. "Just bomb them from the air"? Do you give a shit about human life? And have you not yet realized that there was no real reason to invade Iraq?
And even if you do believe that there were terrorists in Iraq who posed an actual threat America, don't you see that by "just bomb[ing]" them and those they know and love you will only create more, understandably anti-American extremists? Yaaaaa, but they hate us for our freedoms.
@ty13rv No I don't care for human life that would seek to destroy us. I am sorry if that is too logical for you. If they try to acquire nukes or break international law, that is when you fight. people like you caused WWII cause you sat on your arse waiting for Hitler to re-arm.
@DLPBurke Do you realize how racist and digusting you sound saying "No I don't care for human life that would seek to destroy us"?Really? Those tens of (or hundreds of) dead Iraqi civilians were seeking to destroy us? Honestly people like you throughout history have lead to such mass (pointless) killing as we have seen in this war. You are no different than the 19th century American killing natives, or the 40's gov. official interning japanese, because, you know, they" seek[ed] to destroy us."
@ty13rv Do you realise how naive you have to be to allow international law to be broken and risk a war? Do you realise that people like you caused WWII?
@DLPBurke Can you please explain to me how my being disgusted with your desire to "just bomb them" makes me, or those like me, responsible for WWII? Oh and could you clarify your point on international law being broken? And also, could you explain how "just bomb[ing]" civilians (which, btw, WE DID) doesn't break any international (human rights) laws? Oh and in my last post I meant "tens or hundreds of THOUSANDS of dead Iraqi civilians").
And thanks for not addressing any of my previous points.
@ty13rv Judging by your posts, it would be futile for me to even try to make you understand why your position is both naive and dangerous. You have your views I have mine, and my views save more lives than yours.
@DLPBurke No they don't, your views have led to 109,000 Iraqi deaths.
And that's pretty weak, 'I have my views and you have yours.' You are avoiding any honest discussion of the facts, and that doesn't make you seem very informed at all. I'm just going off what you've said.
@Sconi71 if we left freedom and patriotism to you left wing fools, we would now be conquered by Hitler. All you did before WW2 was whinge about diplomacy and being nice and appeasing poor old Adolf.
Shit does happen when you invade a nation, Id hate to see how we wouldve done in past wars if the media was 24 hrs gotcha politics like it is now. Easy to be a monday morning qb . There can be no second guessing without men that roll the dice.
@SubconsciousMonkey anyone who thinks we can live life and have freedom without war is a bigger fool. Sometimes we don't get a choice. If a mad man like Hitler comes along, we have no choice but to go to war, though I bet you would stay at home and let others do the work for you, coward.
Donald Rumsfeld was a patriot who made the most of very limited resources. If you'd all listen to what he's saying it makes sense. Robert M. Perito from the State Department is another Carter-era diplomat - he's been wussified by the Castrati that have run State since the Kennedy era - the East Coast Establishment types. I take his criticisms with a grain of salt. Just as I take more Leftist criticism of the Bush team w/ a grain of salt SINCE WE'RE WINNING IN IRAQ!
What a wonderful example of Conservative near-sightedness.
Prior to the invasion, Rumsfeld was told (by Shinseki) that he would need between 350-500 thousand troops to prevent this very sort of thing from happening. Rumsfeld thanked him by announcing Shinseki's early retirement. Then when chaos breaks out, he shrugs and you defend him.
We've been in Iraq for over six years. Saddam is gone and the country is still at war. What exactly are we "winning"?
That wasn't Rumsfeld's fault, that was President Bush's fault for not beefing up the military in the wake of 9/11, it's also Clinton's fault for unceremoniously cutting the military to create his short-sighted "Peace Dividend." Rumsfeld was doing his job: doing everything he could to implement the demands of his president.
We've been in Iraq for six years now and the country is more stable then it's ever been, we've achieved all of strategic goals, and we now have a foothold in that region.
The military wouldn't of needed "beefing up" had we not of engaged in two wars (9/11 was preventable. Iraq was a war of choice that, at the very least, could have waited until Afghanistan was resolved). Iraq "more stable" than it was six years ago??? Iran has a new ally and nuclear armed Pakistan is in chaos. What color is the sky in your world?
I'm not a Bush Apologist, but I'm not going to stand by and have incorrect information bandied about as if it were truth.
The military DID need beefing up - Clinton had the largest standing military forces in American history under his command when he took over (thanks to Reagan-Bush Cold War buildup) and he systematically whittled it down. Iraq was NOT a war of choice, for Christ sake's they were shooting at our planes enforcing the No-Fly Zone for two years!
@Redcarpet01 What are you talking about? The No-Fly Zones were perfectly legal as they were extensions of the surrender at the end of the First Gulf War and were backed by the UN.
Iraq was a geopolitically brilliant move. Before OIF was initiated, the Arab world viewed the US with hatred and contempt. They believed we lacked the will to defend ourselves in the long run and that made us pushovers which empowered the Islamists. That also put fear into our regional allies (mainly Saudi Arabia) which is why they refused to crackdown on Jihadist supporters in their country. Going into Iraq, staying, & persevering made them hate and FEAR us...which is why al Qaeda is on the run
If by Iran having a new ally you mean Iraq, I'd say that's dubious at best. Sure, Iraq has a predominantly Shiite leadership and sure they've opened dialog with Iran, but they most certainly have NOT created a new ally. They value our friendship more than Iran's and they know engaging Iran in any real alliance would undermine our relationship with them...that's something they won't risk. At least not yet. As for Pakistan being in chaos: IT'S ALWAYS IN CHAOS, IT'S FRAKKING PAKISTAN, DUDE!
Yet you have nothing substantive to say.Typical Liberal post. It was rather brilliant rhetoric as well, since,Pakistan's short history is replete with continual examples of instability and chaos, particularly in the Pashtun regions that recently suffered a bit of instability.BTW, shockingly, the Pakistani military quelled the insurrection that was consuming them and have returned Pakistan to relative stability. Ultimately, my analysis is perfectly spot-on. Keep up the bullshit Liberalism though!
@BI30 Yeah, after reading your post, where you grossly mischaracterize how many troops Shinseki estimated we would need, and stargates post below I don't think anybody can take a liberal seriously. Rumsfeld gets the bad guy tag from the Bush administration, but he was the best cabinet member Bush had and the best Sec of Def this country has probably ever had, irrespective of party line drama bs.
@estermoffat Since you didn't use "Reply", I have no clue what post you are referring to. But video of Shinseki estimating "several thousand troops would be needed" is available here on YouTube: watch?v=a_xchyIeCQw
Rumsfeld was both arrogant and inept. He was a terrible team player both in Bush's cabinet, and with the Pentagon top brass. Bush got fucked royally as a result of Rumsfeld's management style. and
If there was one person in Bush's national security team that wasn't a team player it was not Rumsfeld, rather it was Colin Powell and Richard Armitage who did everything in their power to disrupt the Bush Administration from within.
Iraq may have been sloppily done due to the "Rolling Start" that Rumsfeld was forced to implement (and we would have been better had we just gone all in rather than piecemeal), however, we've still persevered. Counterinsurgencies are NEVER easy, Iraq wasn't diff.
Dude stuff happens. You rape a teenage girl, torture her, shoot her in the head, you steal oil, you steal artefacts. If people try to stop you they're `terrorists' and a threat to `national security' and `democracy.' Dude, stuff happens you work for the carlyle group you pay commission to your friends in the Whitehouse and profit from invasions..oops sorry `democracy.' Stuff happens esp if you're a lying shit like Rumsfeld. He's only doing his job right?
@stargate669 I'm somewhat confused as to why your comment would get so much approval, when it has no substance or evidence. When did Rumsfeld rape and shoot a teenage girl in the head? Are you saying that we don't need the oil from Iraq? Are you saying that the C.I.A. didn't in fact put Saddam's regime in power in 1968? Are you saying that the invasion was unjust? I don't think you have a single point to make, other than the fact that you want your point to be heard.
@Vomitonthecross i believe he was trying to express his attitude towards Rumsfeld, the comment does not allege rumsfeld has raped or tortured anyone literally or figuratively. What i believe the comment aimed to highlight was the illegitimacy of the us administration, insightfully highlighting Rumsfeld's connections with defense contractors. The ' Stuff happens' reference is alluded to in an attempt to emphasise the callous, insensitivity of Rumsfeld.
idiot yes and totally supported by 300 million american people who did........Nothing, Nada, nowt. So, if Rumsfeld is an idiot what are the American people?
indeed it does...'stuff' like stealing an election (2000), 'stuff' like putting an incompetent political cronies in charge while people drown (katrina), 'stuff' like spending 12billion (12BILLION!) a month on an insane idea born out of your desire to prove yourself as good as your dad (never ending war in Iraq)
Yes, Rummy, for 8 long years, your administration has been full of 'stuff'.
Your founding fathers were masons and worked for the British Empire and Rothschild bankers. America was built on the blood, rape and torture of native american peoples. Since, it's inception America has raped and pillaged the world. What's new?
Rumsfield, Cheny & Bush Sr & Jr. have been running this country since LBJ was in office, and they think their bigger than themselves and bigger than the law in this country. They MUST BE TAKEN OUT OF OFFICE, and this country must get on track to being the country it once was.
stuff happens, like the war on Iraq, it just ummm happened, 655 000 excess Iraqi deaths well, stuff happens. People are free to make mistakes and invade other countries.
Ok. I understand. Rumsfeld is a liar and miscreant. He makes no sense. Who is he talking about, being free to make mistakes? Himself or the Iraqi people? Must be him; the Iraqi people certainly aren't free.
I moderate all comments to avoid Flame Wars and prevent overloading the comments section with off-topic discussions that have nothing to do with the video.
Irresponsible? Bush, Rumsfield, Rice, and Chenney are at the very best just irresponsible. A more likely scenario is that they are war criminals that should be removed from office and then put on trial for their crimes against humanity!
In response to blackturtleus: The International Court of Justice in the Hague (the Netherlands) is not recognised by the US, in fact under this administration a law has been passed that says that the US may invade Holland if an American accused of warcrimes should ever stand trial there. I wonder why?
@ih8faggots1000 Agreed, but wtf has that got to do with my question?

@ih8faggots1000 Clearly you have some difficulty reading, so I'll spell it out. Intelligence showed that there was a distinct possibility of Iraq harbouring WMD. Post invasion no WMD was discovered.
BI30 2 years ago
That wasn't Rumsfeld's fault, that was President Bush's fault for not beefing up the military in the wake of 9/11, it's also Clinton's fault for unceremoniously cutting the military to create his short-sighted "Peace Dividend." Rumsfeld was doing his job: doing everything he could to implement the demands of his president.
We've been in Iraq for six years now and the country is more stable then it's ever been, we've achieved all of strategic goals, and we now have a foothold in that region.
AllTerroristsMustDie 2 years ago
Bush Admin apologists always make me wantto puke.
BI30 2 years ago
I'm not a Bush Apologist, but I'm not going to stand by and have incorrect information bandied about as if it were truth.
The military DID need beefing up - Clinton had the largest standing military forces in American history under his command when he took over (thanks to Reagan-Bush Cold War buildup) and he systematically whittled it down. Iraq was NOT a war of choice, for Christ sake's they were shooting at our planes enforcing the No-Fly Zone for two years!
AllTerroristsMustDie 2 years ago
And the no-fly zones were illegal, Iraq was perfectly entitled to shoot any planes 'enforcing' them.
Redcarpet01 1 year ago
Not to take sides here, but the "no fly zones" were perfectly legal. Saddam agreed to them as part of his surrender following the '91 Gulf War.
BI30 1 year ago
No he did not. The ceasefire agreement said nothing about the no-fly zones. Nor the subsequent UN resolutions
Redcarpet01 1 year ago
@BI30 but of course saddam hussein was free to do bad things and shoot them down...
jsyn1230 1 year ago

AllTerroristsMustDie 2 years ago
If by Iran having a new ally you mean Iraq, I'd say that's dubious at best. Sure, Iraq has a predominantly Shiite leadership and sure they've opened dialog with Iran, but they most certainly have NOT created a new ally. They value our friendship more than Iran's and they know engaging Iran in any real alliance would undermine our relationship with them...that's something they won't risk. At least not yet. As for Pakistan being in chaos: IT'S ALWAYS IN CHAOS, IT'S FRAKKING PAKISTAN, DUDE!
AllTerroristsMustDie 2 years ago
"ITS FRAKKING PAKISTAN DUDE!"
brilliant rhetoric to sum up the biggest waste of a youtube post yet.
let me keep this simple and say : fail conservative is FAIL.
hempgru4 2 years ago
Yet you have nothing substantive to say.Typical Liberal post. It was rather brilliant rhetoric as well, since,Pakistan's short history is replete with continual examples of instability and chaos, particularly in the Pashtun regions that recently suffered a bit of instability.BTW, shockingly, the Pakistani military quelled the insurrection that was consuming them and have returned Pakistan to relative stability. Ultimately, my analysis is perfectly spot-on. Keep up the bullshit Liberalism though!

@AllTerroristsMustDie lol "beefing up the military" you're a goddamn idiot
harleqwendy 1 year ago
@AllTerroristsMustDie yes, our military is TOO LEAN. MORE MONEY FOR OUR MILITARY. THROW MONEY AT IT.
harleqwendy 1 year ago
@BI30 Yeah, after reading your post, where you grossly mischaracterize how many troops Shinseki estimated we would need, and stargates post below I don't think anybody can take a liberal seriously. Rumsfeld gets the bad guy tag from the Bush administration, but he was the best cabinet member Bush had and the best Sec of Def this country has probably ever had, irrespective of party line drama bs.
estermoffat 1 year ago
@estermoffat Since you didn't use "Reply", I have no clue what post you are referring to. But video of Shinseki estimating "several thousand troops would be needed" is available here on YouTube: watch?v=a_xchyIeCQw

Rumsfeld was both arrogant and inept. He was a terrible team player both in Bush's cabinet, and with the Pentagon top brass. Bush got fucked royally as a result of Rumsfeld's management style. and
ffairlane57 2 years ago

He's only doing his job right?
stargate669 2 years ago 27
@stargate669 I'm somewhat confused as to why your comment would get so much approval, when it has no substance or evidence. When did Rumsfeld rape and shoot a teenage girl in the head? Are you saying that we don't need the oil from Iraq? Are you saying that the C.I.A. didn't in fact put Saddam's regime in power in 1968? Are you saying that the invasion was unjust? I don't think you have a single point to make, other than the fact that you want your point to be heard.
Vomitonthecross 10 months ago
@Vomitonthecross i believe he was trying to express his attitude towards Rumsfeld, the comment does not allege rumsfeld has raped or tortured anyone literally or figuratively. What i believe the comment aimed to highlight was the illegitimacy of the us administration, insightfully highlighting Rumsfeld's connections with defense contractors. The ' Stuff happens' reference is alluded to in an attempt to emphasise the callous, insensitivity of Rumsfeld.

"stuff happens"
indeed it does...'stuff' like stealing an election (2000), 'stuff' like putting an incompetent political cronies in charge while people drown (katrina), 'stuff' like spending 12billion (12BILLION!) a month on an insane idea born out of your desire to prove yourself as good as your dad (never ending war in Iraq)
Yes, Rummy, for 8 long years, your administration has been full of 'stuff'.
history will not be kind.

idiots are running this country into the ground, and they MUST be smarter than us because we're letting them get away with it.
our founding fathers are rolling in their graves...

They MUST BE TAKEN OUT OF OFFICE, and this country must get on track to being the country it once was.

superheronumber1 5 years ago 2
Ok. I understand. Rumsfeld is a liar and miscreant. He makes no sense. Who is he talking about, being free to make mistakes? Himself or the Iraqi people? Must be him; the Iraqi people certainly aren't free.

What things would prevent a comment from being approved?

I moderate all comments to avoid Flame Wars and prevent overloading the comments section with off-topic discussions that have nothing to do with the video.

Irresponsible? Bush, Rumsfield, Rice, and Chenney are at the very best just irresponsible. A more likely scenario is that they are war criminals that should be removed from office and then put on trial for their crimes against humanity!
blackturtleus 5 years ago
In response to blackturtleus: The International Court of Justice in the Hague (the Netherlands) is not recognised by the US, in fact under this administration a law has been passed that says that the US may invade Holland if an American accused of warcrimes should ever stand trial there. I wonder why?
