  • ENLIGHTENMENT DOESNT BUY YOU FOOD CLOTHING OR SHELTER everybody always has to fin something to hate on about its so annoying!!! hes a great man doing more for the world than any of you youtubers so stfu

  • if TM works for somebody great but I dont personally think its all its often billed to be. I feel its a lot of hype and a whole organizational interest seeking to be fulfilled. Meditation comes in many forms. We as conscious Being's have tremendous capacities of awareness and meditation is one way to better access them. Good advice: If a practice is yielding you satisfactory results stick with it; if not, then move on.

  • This person look like need a lot of meditation. Look stress up!

  • @DrAnonymousable Exactly. It propaganda and money. You're right on.

  • The people who give money to the David Lynch foundation do so in the knowledge that there is no other programme as powerfull as Trancendental meditation to remove suffering from the world . I can understand people having issues about paying for TM . Its not like people give money without knowing what they doing .

No one was ever forced to learn TM or give money becuase they learned to

    meditate.. .

  • It seems everyone wants to pick someone apart. These comments are silly. The man is promoting peace and medtiation ... not smoking crack and war fare. OK. You have seen him fly off the handle, what would we all see if we followed you for a day? He is asking for money ... if you don't want to pay then dont. no harm on you, so no foul. You all seem to forget that money has always been exchanged for the time and efforts of those who enlighten others. Lies are free. There is some truth for ya!

  • @TheEricaamor I have directed indy films and on my sets you're welcome to follow me around. I treat crew and actors with complete respect. You don't get good work out of people by yelling and putting them down. It just creates dischord on the set which prolongs efforts to get the work done.

If you continue to follow me around, you might see me use some drugs, talk to someone, maybe smoke a cig. And yes I do promote drugs. Its a issue of personal freedom. Escapism. Everyone does it in some form.

  • @TheEricaamor You pay for more lies than truth. Truth never comes easy. Thats why there are so many people out ther looking for it. Enlightenment is free. And enlightened minds never sell their truth. But they usually become corrupt and sell propaganda.

  • You can find your mantra for free. they arent specific or unique to you. This isn't selling false hope. For those who have done it know what I'm talking about. i can reach the vast ocean of consciousness without a mantra now. But looking back now, if I had to pay x amount of dollars to learn this I would have. It's paid for itself 100 fold already

  • @brutus301

How did you learn this without paying??

  • Comment removed

  • That's truly a literal interpretation, I have time and time again found some of the nicest people (many artists) containing the deepest, repressed dark feelings. That's the unavoidable 'human condition' unfortunately. To fear those films, well, you aren't 100% wrong, its just not an exercise for you personally it seems. Other people however don't feel they are "assholes" for exercising the demons through dark material.

  • @recentlyIhave I agree with you on that, you make a good point. But don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of his work, I just don't believe David Lynch is as nice and peaceful as everyone thinks. I have seen him "fly off the handle" at crew members for the littlest mistake. And I saw him on a behind the scene video actually admitting he was depressed.

I just personally don't believe that TM is as great as people think. And to me, David Lynch seems to talk it up a lot. He's like the TM spokesman.

  • You can see how "well" it works for David Lynch. Just watch any of his behind the scenes videos or videos when hes working with his crew and actors. He flies off the handle if someone makes the smallest mistake. He also makes people feel small. He walks around with a cocky attitude most of the time.

Wow these TM classes really work great for Mr Lynch.

  • @zombiekill551 However, each and all need to use their personal discernment. And if it is a large inpersonal conference for $2000... than yeah, I would say your money would be much better off spent on 100 yoga classes or 10 cermonial type shamanic cleansings/Light Journies/Spirit Quests.

  • @zombiekill551 With due respect, the key thing about Lynch's behind-the-scenes videos is that they are HIS (authorized) videos. He is showing what he's like on the set. And his "yelling" at people is clearly not throwing a tantrum, but rather cajolling people to do their job. Yell at me in Lynch's way and I wouldn't be offended.

If you want to hear a real tantrum, by contrast, try searching for "David O. Russell Lily Tomlin".

  • @ChollieD Right on.

  • @zombiekill551 it doesnt make you perfect. hes still human. humans have emotions. why are you people so nasty and mean? HES TRYING AND HAS HELPED MANY MANY PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD HE DOES MORE THAN HIS PART WTF DO U DO???? BITCH ON YOUTUBE VIDEOS TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF. MR LYNCH IS A FUCKIN GENIUS QUITE HATIN LOSERS

  • @ariellexblack Haha, it will be ok. You don't have to have a tantrum. As I said before, I like Mr Lynch's work. But I still do not believe he treats some people very pleasant. But I guess being a "FUCKIN GENIUS" makes that ok.

  • That's been my big question since I heard about TM. Why do you have to pay money to gain such "wonderful enlightenment". They say TM has the possibility to change the world if enough people got involved.

Maybe if it didn't cost two thousand dollars then people would. But I think its misleading. Just like ralax3 said... "anyone who asks money for spiritual enlightening is clearly lying and is a false prophet"

  • @zombiekill551 Not Really, It was well worth it for me to pay $1300 for a plane ticket to India and thousands of dollars more traveling around studying with Gurus of Meditation, Yoga and Ayurveda. It was still even more worth it to Buy another plane ticket to the other side of the world and study with Mayan Daykeepers and Amazonian Shamans. And, as for all the years and money I put into expanding my consciousness I would not find it that unappropriate to recieve something in return for service

  • @TheiGODProject

    lol true

  • @TheiGODProject

    lol true

  • @TheiGODProject Well that's just spectacular. You learned from the "Gurus". Instead of a second rate teacher. I'm proud of you. Learning straight from the source. You're special.

  • @zombiekill551 Ha ha you're right. These people will never get it. They will never realize that TM is a money making scam, and David Lynch is a spokesman for TM. Its pretty sad when they use celebrities to help sell false hope.

And I agree with your other comment. David Lynch never looks happy or at peace. And I also have seen him going off on people. I remember seeing him yelling at a crew member and commenting how small his mind was and he (David) was superior.

  • helping others think freely and peacefully should be available for free.

  • You did know the TM movment is a money making cult, Get informed and do some research !

All it is is saying the same word in your mind again and again, brain washing at its best .

  • TM is a scam. Enlightenment comes with a price tag of a few thousand dollars up front....doesn't sound like enlightenment and love...sounds like a business. Light a candle, sit in a quiet room and let your mind and your spirit guides guide you through life.

  • I can't believe how easily people can be fooled, just because they tend to believe anything that's untruth, hoping for happines

  • Anyone who ask money in exchange for spiritual lightness is clearly liyng and is a fake enlightened and a fake profet. I wish all the yoga happines stuff were truth, but it's not, so wake up and smell the beautiful truth. The truth will liberate you.

  • @ralax3 The only reason hes asking for money is to fund the time of people going round and teaching this meditation. The whole point of his foundation is to give out meditation lessons for free to schoolchildren who wouldnt normally be able to pay for them and in many schools it has worked wonders, and if it works, reduces murders of children in schools im for it. after all its not exactly scientology

  • @ralax3 I completely agree. It sounds like a salespitch to me.

  • @fangedpelvis I'm not saying that yoga doesn't have a good effect on the mind and body, just that I hate fake prophets; and fake prophets are in christianism, judaism, hinduism, etc.

  • @ralax3 the truth is you need money to survive. even monks need fundraisers you think finding peace pays??? give me a break. all you people hating on david lynch when hes helping more people than any of you ever will. why dont you people watch the documentary and see how much he has helped people. children in inner sity schools, teachers, all kinds of people all over the world. fuckin haters dont even know what the fuck you are talking about!!!

  • @ariellexblack I'm not saying that yoga doesn't work, or this kind of meditation or stuff, but what I don't agree with is this constant ask for money in exchange for enlightenment. I meditate myself, but I don't need any money asking guru or priest !

  • I paid 25 quid over 30 years ago to go learn TM at my local TM Centre in the UK. I kept a very open mind, even slightly sceptical as to it's benefits, but was blown away by how I felt sitting one on one with my teacher the first time. It WAS like falling/diving into a dark warm well of bliss, but I didn't experience the same feeling when I tried it alone and other students told me the same thing. That the first time is the best. Maybe I should've practiced more ...

  • If you dont think Dave Lynch is the greatest FUCK YOU! ┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐

by the way i just did my first film! :) can you guys give it a look :) thanks!

  • The music is way too much in the foreground.... can't even watch

  • Can't watch because of background music.........

  • That background music is very distracting - sorry :os

  • lynch should renounce his films because of their negativity. in the wrong hands the moods he evokes aren't bliss but rather fear and loathing. how can he talk about bringing peace when he is a purveyor of nightmare films. his hypocracy couldn't be greater. how can he divorce his actions (nightmare films) that obviously influence young people from his advocating a practice to bring inner peace? truly surreal.

  • @elephantinpajamas The point of his films is to bring his main characters OUT of those nightmares. They are essentially very hopeful films. There IS catharsis if you're viewing them correctly.

  • @zazeify sorry, i should have been more specific. i'd just finished watching twin peaks which doesn't match your description. while i value lynch's ability to portray the voraciousness of evil i wouldn't say that he balances it with hope. this may be the difference between a moral religion and an amoral practice like tm.

"viewed correctly?" i find this notion to be absurd. anything can be twisted to mean whatever you want it to mean. when murderous rapaciousness triumphs that speaks for itself

  • @elephantinpajamas I guess you'll have to be more specific. In which piece of Lynch's does "murderous rapaciousness triumph" ? I can't think of any, but I don't know if I've seen all of his work.

Calling TM "amoral" is incorrect, BTW.

  • @zazeify i said in my comment that i'd recently watched Twin Peaks where the force of evil that dwells in the forest possesses characters causing them to murder and at the end even overtakes Cooper, the copper who seemingly represents the force of good. The dominance of this unchecked evil force does not seem hopeful. while i applaud lynch for his strong images in a sane world his works would be for adult viewing only. lynch himself presents tm as simply a practice without moral content.

  • @zazeify That's one of the funniest statements I've ever heard. So now there is a "correct" way of viewing a television show or a movie. People never cease to amaze me with their ignorance.

  • @KOMC4444 come on , thats just ignorent man

  • @KOMC4444 He was an illiterate, this is his miracle which means Quran is God's revelation. All ur infe are false. He married Aisha when she was 9 yrs (she was engaged to nonmmuslim when she was only 7yrs ).Muhammed Never Killed except once.He wasnt pedophile : watch?v=wM4MF8S7Ro0 .U r just another fanatic hater to islam , well if Quran is not enough 4 u to believe , nothing will be.My last words to u , plz read more about Islam & the prophet muhammed PBUH.

  • @KOMC4444 plz answer this mr.Smart .. what do u think about the miraculous verses of Quran since more than 1400 yrs (like i mentioned b4 in embryology , cosmology , ect ) U cant just ignore them ! How could Muhammed PBUH know such scientific facts ? what do need more to believe in it ? (dont say its mentioned also in bible or any other religion bcuz its not ) Only the simple fact this book is unchangeable _unlike bible or any other book on earth _ is a great miracle ! What do u need more ?!!

  • @KOMC4444 At least u do believe in God now the problem u r calling Him Zeus :)

i mentioned Christ or the bible bcuz i believe in them & i knew about similarities inbetween but i dont believe in " religious groups " i know groups are only a facebook . such groups sucks bcuz they invented their religion :X

  • @KOMC4444 lol mythology ,the name only proves its false. There is no god of gods .. He is The One , The Eternally Everlasting ... ALLAH Almighty .greek philosophers were not prophetes nor messengers. Allah Sent e.g. John , Hud , Yunus , moses , Jesus & Muhammed and non of them told about that Zeus ! Basically they were sent to take them from that myth & darkness

  • @KOMC4444 didnt say its misTRANSLATION , its distortion e.g. "i will terrorize the unbelievers " Allah wanted to encourage muslims in Ballte Of Badr (specific event ) as the unbelievers (Spicific ppl existed at that time) were large number . So its an old story why God mentioned it ?! The lesson here is Allah supports the believers, but cutting that quote ""i will terrorize the unbelievers" is totally misleading as its not a complete verse. Allah is the most merciful .

  • @KOMC4444 These Similarities in Quran & Bible or Torah are becuz the are from Same Source i.e. Allah , But why u must be a muslim is thats Muhammed is the last messenger & Allah is to be worshiped according to Islam .Human can figure out the existence of Allah but can figure out how to worship Him,so he sent messengers to teach ppl & warn them, So Allah is to be worshiped as He wants no as U want

  • @KOMC4444 Man have a brian ! God cant be like any thing bcuz he created everything,Look at the universe who Created suck a magnificent planets , Stars , aminmals & plants !! Who Created the miraculous Human Body!! Only one Hepatic cell can perform as much operations as a big factory ! Who is moving the clouds to give us water ! Who Created Water that wonderful fluid (google : message from water)..The other way to know about God is to read Quran.

  • @KOMC4444 As muslim im not agnostic towards ALL other people's religions!! We believe in Moses & jesus .Allah mentioned the name of more than 20 prophets in Quran,we believe of ALL of them ,but the Torah & Bible were distorted unlike Quran.Christians & Zionists wildly criticize Islam trying mislead ppl about it they quote specific part of a verse to change the meaning e.g. "kill the unbelievers"/ "i will terrorize the unbelievers" buth the truth is Muhammed was but a mercy to mankind.

  • @KOMC4444 CAN U GIVE ME "MATERIAL EVIDENCE" of MIND'S EXISTENCE ? BCUZ I CANT SEE UR MIND

  • @KOMC4444 What about verses mentioned accurately embryonal growth, palsars (pulsating stars),iron sent down,The Lowest Area on Earth & The barrier between the salt sea & the sweet sea . U can ask ur jewish friends about all of that .

  • @KOMC4444 The Quran mentioned scientific fatcts which are only proven in the 20th century which meansits from the creator of universe. How could Dr.Zagloul be non objective?. These scientific facts are proven by non-muslim scientists (eg ; BigBang Theory ,Embryology ) and The Quran is unchangeable (since more than 1400 yrs !!) .

  • @KOMC4444 u r the one said "They are facts" , i will say it agian "They are facts" . Quran is protected by God from human changes (since more than 1400 years) .Dr Zagloul talks olny about scientific facts proved by the modern science .The simple fact that Quran wasnt changed for more than 1400 years is enough to believe in it . Oper ur mind man think clearly i hope i showed u the right way .

  • @KOMC4444

    * Dr. zaghloul el naggar's WebSite : google it

its very usefull website that talks about miracles of Quran & Sunna

*Here is a video of Dr.Zaghloul about Big Bang Theory :

    /watch?v=F8nwjKxjGok

  • @KOMC4444well u read the "key parts" of Quran but did u read the Tafseer ( the meaning of verses ) ?? Quran is the words of God man not a newspaper i cant know the meaning of a verse except if i read tafseer(although my mother lang. is arabic),Did u know the "12 yr old wife" was engaged when she was 7 yr old . u 're just like other haters of islam not trying to know about islam u only try to prove its Evil.im sorry for my bad grammer im busy studying medicine (time consuming) but its my mistake

  • @KOMC4444 i think u r the ethnocentric bcuz u r the one insulting my religion as well as"every other religion" !! well man i must tell other people about Islam its not interjection its a core part of Islam " meditation " people like u never heard about islam except for violence & Blood.

  • @KOMC4444 Easy man !! i didnt say its our invention.i did say it not urs either. if u r interested in meditation , math , science , cosmology or even medicine u will find an entrance to islam in any prospective . y man u r insulting me my religion ?! y that hate ! i wanted to show some of the greatness of islam , hope u fine the right way

  • @KOMC4444 who told u that ?!

  • we muslims already meditateing daily on our pray to Allah the only god .. its not ur invention

  • whats w/ the cheese music? very distracting.

  • @Madkre8tor go watch twin peaks

  • Just to eliminate some of the nonsense surrounding the "how to" about the technique. YOu can learn the technique by doing it. Simple as that. Just do it. Don't conceptualize about it. Just do it.

  • my role model for art and ffor life.

  • David Lynch is a great man, great artist and great spiritual seeker.

    -

Thanks for sharing PEACE with the world. The David Lynch Foundation has already taught more than 100,000 at risk children to meditate worldwide.

  • 76% of long-term meditators experience psychological disorders -- including 26% nervous breakdowns

    63% experience serious physical complaints

70% recorded a worsening ability to concentrate

Researchers found a startling drop in honesty among long-term meditators

  • @sweetguitars Where is your proof of this? I'd be interested to read what you've read.

  • @retread01 oops, I heisted off the Inet , forgot to cite source. Most of what I've found is positive toward TM but there is a darker unmentioned side by TMers, it is definitely worth looking into, I have compiled much information as well as reading the excellent book 'The Marahrishi Effect', also learned that the book 'the relaxation response' teaches an equally effective meditation effect that costs no money to the participant...........

  • @sweetguitars I'll look into it. Thought I should add that I'm in no way a TM defender, and from what I've read all over the place I would be inclined to agree that there is a lot of darker and shady stuff connected to it (TMfree blogspot being a good place to look at). But I'm still interested in reading about it.

  • @retread01 It's kind of weird, a guy from a cave ends up with a multi billion dollar empire and it's growing into its next phase with help from Hollywood heavy weights and Paul McCartney and Ringo etc. Maharishi was a genius, what kind I'm not saying (: Kind of like someone starting the Salvation Army or Goodwill and driving up to work in a Canary Yellow Rolls Royce.............

  • @retread01 suggestibility-dot-org

  • @sweetguitars Thanks for that link, reading through it now. Fascinating site, not just the TM stuff but all the links to other related topics too, like disassociation. Getting through one page is tough as every one leads to another and another!

  • @retread01 dissociation is the TM badboy, you develop a seperate consciousness so to speak through TM, TM is extremely psychologically dangerous and many develop psychological problems throughTM, kind of like, lots of people drink beer no problem, lots of people destroy their life through drink also.............

  • @sweetguitars there is some good info @ behind the tm facade website

  • Is the light jazz really necessary?

  • Here's a little tip: When your audio quality is poor and the volume is low to start with, DO NOT, repeat DO NOT add music, no matter how "cool" it is.

  • It's always great when a moron adds music which totally ruins a video. Way to go idiot.

  • what is so powerful about TM, is the strengthening of the intuition.

  • The David Lynch Foundation is doing some amazing things. I hope more schools get involved. The kids have such good experiences with TM -- it's awesome!

  • @awakearound Its not TM they're experiencing its themselves as pure consciousness they're experiencing. An important distinction but when dealing with such subtle self-enquiry an important one.

  • I love David Lynch. He's so funny.

  • TM is so cool. It doesn't involve a personal deity of any sorts. It's just so simple. David is speaking the truth in this vid. He's the man!

  • The Lynch Foundation is doing some great stuff. I keep hearing kids give their experiences of TM, and every time it's positive. It's really helping them with their lives.

  • I always love his physical expressions. A true artist. He just can't express himself by verbal communication.

  • David Lynch is one eccentric individual. But, thank god for that. This world needs people like him. He describes TM well in this clip.

  • nice talk. lynch is funny

  • Does TM teach a personal deity ?

  • No, the mantra is a meaningless sound.

  • no, it is just a physiological exercise. no religion needed :)

  • A physiological excercise would be the same as religious form. My question was regarding the matter of religious content. It is very easy for people within a group of like minded individuals to elect one to be the recipient of the sort of personal idenitification I was thinking about when I asked my initial question.

  • I'd have to say that Christianity is a MUCH bigger cult. TM has no deity to pray to, no rules to follow. You aren't told to go out and preach the news of TM. It's a personal thing, whereas Christianity has a built-in factor where its adherents are supposed to blanket the world with its teachings. It's also far more dangerous. I have yet to hear of a TM inspired fight, murder or war. I've never heard someone commit violence and then claim "TM told me to do it."

  • Well said.

In my experience TM is the greatest gift I ever received and is absolutely priceless - I wouldn't miss it for anything!

  • There are certainly aspects of usefulness in learning elementary practices that allow one to achieve a state of inner contentment and a feeling of well being. I used to practice a form of TM as a young person, but learned to take it deeper into that which is similar to contemplative prayer. It is closer to Zen, but I found instead of the absense of a personal deity, the presense of a tender and forgiving Spirit.

  • Those who pitch TM, albeit well meaning, present the subjective claims they make as objective. There is however no conclusive evidence (independently verified) of its efficacy nor is there evidence that what is experienced is real. So, the claims made on behalf of TM deserve no more credibility than the truth claims made by religions.

  • @fctchk

This is very important , in reality people ahs bought into their right to have a personal expirience more real than reality . We destroy what is real with opinions check out "Bernard poolman opinions" and "krishanmurti on meditation"

If something is a personal expirience ITS NOT MEDITATION. ITS NOT REAL. Your participation in this world is a meditation WAKE UP.

  • You didn't look for any evidence, did you?

  • Your general view of Christianity is not representative of all who follow the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. Perhaps that was your experience and you are projecting. True Christianity which is as rare as can be, does not teach violence or religion, but it primarily concerned with a deep appreciation of ones neighbour. May Christ give you light.

  • Hell aerycksmusic,

I realize my view of Christianity is not going to fit anyone's view who disagrees with me. Why do you need a religion to give you deep appreciation for your neighbor? I can love, relate and empathize with those around me, all without the aid of a religion or a celestial instructor telling me to do so (and isn't it less genuine when you're being told to, rather than of your own free will?) Why doesn't Christ, if he really exits, shine his light for all to see?

  • It is not religious form that gives you appreciation of your neighbour. The instructor as you call him, is able to join with your spirit and in becoming one, one is touched by one whose compassion resulted in the greatest love. That no one can deny. He has shone his light already. TM does not open the eye up enough to enjoy that. In good time you will know him if it is to be so. Peace, A.

  • @worldsworstjukebox. That transcendental field of bliss that David Lynch is talking about is the same Christ consciousness that pervades the entire fabric of the universe. Through regular practice of TM "you" as a microcosm of the universe can tap into this infinite reservoir of energy and bliss to become one with it. "My father and I are one..."

  • Well said!

  • @Sonz32: I don't think the idea is that everyone who meditates twice a day will automatically think everyone is a beautiful flower... the idea is that you meditate, and then you feel happer/healthier/more clear headed than you did before - even if you've got a tough life.

  • You've pinpointed exactly the idea that immediately struck me when I began listening to Lynch in this video. Granted, peace of mind can be achieved cumulatively to an extent, but the fact that he is such self-assuring facts as his perpetual success and acclaim nourishing his subconscious must have an incontrovertibly greater effect on his contentment than any meditation techniques.

  • Very warped but damn funny!

  • I am afraid you misunderstand what meditation is all about. It benefits everyone.

  • Says who? You have personally talked to every single person who has tried meditation? Fuuuuck off.

  • How can you be so sure about what you said, did you ever try ? I totaly go with what he is saying, not becaus its lynch, but because it is true and i experienced exactly the same! Try it yourself - It will not hurt you at all !!

  • Mechelle68 said: "The peer-review studies have been on meditation, in general." This is just not true. Different meditations are... well... different! Different in terms of:

    a) the technique

    b) the experience

    c) the results

It would simply not be scientific to lump them all in the one category and say that eg. a result from zen buddhist meditation could be expected from any meditation. All the major meditations have been researched, and the results show they produce very different effects.

  • From Wikipaedia: "A 1989 meta-analysis published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology compared 146 independent studies on the effect of different meditation and relaxation techniques in reducing trait anxiety. Transcendental Meditation was found to produce a larger effect than other forms of meditation and relaxation in the reduction of trait anxiety." Also, the effect size was too large to be due to the placebo/expectation effect.

  • You can reap the same benefits from basic meditation, whether it be a free tutorial or a low priced group session.

No "mystic" words or frills necessary.

TM is akin to tv evangelism that offers you salvation....

as long as you send them a check.

  • As someone who worked in psych for years, as well as a meditator, I can tell you TM offers no more benefit than basic meditation. It's just been dressed up with a few rituals to make it look appealing so one can be charged a fortune to be taught.

The evidence to the benefit of meditation is incontrovertible, however, the TM leaders are misleading when they say that science has proven the benefits of TM. The peer-review studies have been on meditation, in general.

  • It seems always in life that "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR..."

Transcendental Meditation is certainly the best meditation technique out there and it's price reflects this fact.

  • listen to Michael Tsarion on the youtube. He is a conspiracy author/lecturer of best quality. I can also recommend to thee five more speakers of high quality--Leo Zagami, Dr. Bill Deagle, Alan Watt, Jordan Maxwell and Alexandre Dumas pere.

  • TM is silly, they charge an arm and a leg and keep all their practices secret, Meditation is for the world, not for money!

  • This dude directed "Eraserhead." I know that's not related to this video, but for those that didn't know that, check that movie out. It's INSANE. Watched it on TV and had to order it online.

Now, to the point. I agree with whatshisface down there. If it was so great, they wouldn't charge an arm and a leg for it.

  • Interesting Video I will have to find out a little more about David.

I meditate and feel that there is definatly something there. I recomend that you look into a basic form of meditation at the least.

  • How good was this video? The numbers tell the story: Part I was viewed by 61,000.

    Part 2 was viewed by 16, 000.

Part 3 was viewed by 6,000.

  • surely if the benifits of TM are as profound as Mr Lynch says it would be taught for free rather than being commodified.

  • What do you know? I have noticed that most people think that you are supposed to get stressed about work. I have never shared that point of view. I now know why, because I learned to meditate when I was 20 yrs old. I haven't chanted in a long time, but I guess in some ways it's like riding a bicycle. Once you learn a positive outlook on life you always remember how.

  • My mantra: Fire Walk With Me

  • Thank you David! You are bringing the light to remove the darkness.

  • Traannn-ceendentttalll Medi- tation... tation... tation... slow echo and fade.

  • lol

  • Beach Boys?

  • Except that Transcendental Meditation is the most researched and is shown to actually produce results when compared to other meditation techniques.

The Transcendental Meditation organization is a non profit organization and no one is getting rich. They have agricultural and poverty removal projects all over the world.

I agree the course fees are high but currently they are on discount right now and the David Lynch Foundation is offering scholarships...

  • I have nothing against TM, it's a good cause.

For those who can't afford TM, they can research mantra meditation technique on their own. It's not that much different.

  • you don't have to pay for anything just find out about meditation and mantras on your own... TM is just giving you your "own mantra" it's made to feed our western ideology of "everyone is unique and special"... you can meditatie using "default" mantras or the mantra of mantras, the Mother-of-All-Mantras --- "AUM" ... etc. - TM is not special it's just hindu tradition of meditative technique

  • Yes, everyone can do it. But not everyone is a millionaire. Besides, why would anyone want to pay several thousand bucks for these classes. And if transcendental meditation is so easy, why can't they post a demonstrative video or how to on their websites. And if they truly care for the well-being and enlightenment of the common folk, and have in mind the current state of the economy, should it cost at all. Money is more important to them than you are. Organizations, institutions, religion = money!

  • I'm a David Lynch fan, and because of his lectures I got interested in this kind of meditation. One reason, because it's supposed to be not based on any belief system, social status etc. I need to change my lifestyle. So I got hopeful when I decided to try this. A few clicks later I realised that I simply can't afford it. I don't want to be pessimistic and condemn it, a lot of things cost money. But I was kinda dissapointed.

  • great point

  • Damn I hate it when "background" music is too loud...

  • Religous people are taught by their religious teachers to fear and hate any type of meditation, simply because meditation has the potential to save them from the grips of their religion, and awaken them to the lies of their beliefs. Religous leaders don't want to lose control or authority over their slaves.

  • I think, I could invite Mr. Pat Condell on a speach about TM

  • Actually using it wrongly caused you to fall into hypnosis. It´s not about self convincing you that Krishna is playing a flute by your side, it is about looking inwards in deep relaxation. This means get to know and understand yourself. In the end, I feel very connected with present time; I´m not floating around in a hippie pipe dream. Even, there´s other techniques as visualization, which don´t need from a mantra.

  • I don´t understand how religious people (above all) get so scared and furious about Transcendental Meditation, like if it was a sort of menace.

IT IS NOT RELIGION AT ALL, calm down people.

Transcendental Meditation is not against anything.

  • Of course it is a full blown religion. It is Hinduism, of course you are not informed that you worship Shiva, Lakshmi, Saraswati (dependent on your age). The mantras are not meaningless but they are worshipping formulas of hindu gods. Secondly which scientific technique has a holy tradition?

  • Mantras are based not exactly in worship for gods (you don´t necessary name the hindu gods), but in the sound of the word chosen (let´s say for example "Shanti"-meaning peace), creating a frequence that reverberates in your brain creating a peaceful feeling. So it is not exactly about what you say, but how this word sound. How brain activity is affected during this process it´s been prooved several times by real technical devices.

  • Shanti is not a TM - Mantra, but Shiring for example is and it is nothing else than a worship formula for Lakshmi. If you call it creating a frequence for wealth or just simply worshipping the deity of wealth makes no difference in fact. The nazis for instance did kill millions of jews, but the called it a resettlement. SO the fact counts not the wording for it.

  • Don´t worry. I won´t kill anyone. Nazis...you made me crap my pants of laughter. Look, I practice this twice a day, and feel great. Had a lot of positive results, feel very awake, and been through things that I didn´t even expect (for example improving social life). And I´m not part of any organization or group because of it. I´ve never been charged by anyone because of learning TM. What I experience is basically, get relaxed, and then think much clearer.

  • The nazis were a drastic example for euphemistic wording. The fact, that you worship hindu gods, but you deny this fact by wording it as a frequency to calm the mind. This is the euphemism. The frequency does not count, the worship of hindu gods does count for the question, if TM is a full blown religion.

I believe that you practice TM for less than a year and I had similar experiences in the beginning. TM is nothing else than autohypnosis - thats all about it.

  • i meditated for the first time 10 months ago, and my life has been a living hell ever since... ive had horrible pains in my head, as well as a constant pressure and a crackling, crunching sensation. i was totally healthy before i meditated... do a google search on "kundalini symptoms" before you decide to try meditation. i learned the hard way.

  • maybe its all the coffee from starbucks.

  • haha

  • It sounds psychosomatic. You probably suffer from retardation. How can sitting for a few minutes and having a few thoughts in your head cause headaches? Idiot.

  • Yeah it does sound ridiculous, but it did happen. Is it so hard to believe that if you're messing with your brain, something negative could happen? Point is, this is not a natural state to be in. It's not "having a few thoughts in your head." It's pretty much shutting your brain down and having no thoughts. Also, I have nothing to gain or lose whether you believe me or not. I'm just putting this out there so that others who are thinking of trying this know that it can be dangerous.

  • You must be absolutely kidding me. You are increasing your ability to concentrate. All forms of meditation involve being relaxed first and foremost. Relaxed. Then focused concentration can come in. Other forms of meditation involve focusing on the breath. You know that thing that your body does all the time that you never think about? Try thinking about it. And getting relaxed and then focusing on it. You will find you are capable of far more interesting things than watching the news.

  • Umm no. Not kidding. And what are you talking about, I'll be "capable of far more intersting things than watching the news"? That makes no sense... and you don't even know me. So where is your great insight from? I stand by what I said. I really wonder what rocks some of you people crawl out of that post on this site. My situation is definitely weird... but I still don't look half as whacked out as the lot of you. My head might hurt, but at least I'm not a fucking internet know-it-all.

  • There is a massive amount of people who, how shall we say, are experiencing profound increases in sensitivity towards others right now? There are energies flooding into this planet that are aiding in this heightened awareness. It is increasing real communication, and decreasing the fake surface level stuff. i.e. eve news. What we're saying is claiming that TM is dangerous is like saying enjoying a beautiful natural hot spring is dangerous.

  • Does your natural hot spring cause someone head pain for 14 months? For someone so enlightened, you seem very closeminded to even the possibility of what I said. Well, guess what? It happened. Maybe it can be difficult to hear something so counterintuitive to your whole belief system. I'm not trying to change your mind. I don't care. But you challenged me, and I'm the one living through the pain caused by doing this practice. But what do I know? living in the "fake world" and all...

  • Do you think natural hot springs cause head pains? Do you think that relaxing causes head pains?

  • Dude you don't give up. I give you credit for persistence, but none for logic. Do I think relaxing causes headpains? No. Did meditating? Yes. Relaxing I would equate to kicking back on the couch, maybe going fishing, whatever... taking a nap. Not sitting with my eyes closed repeating a mantra in my head. When I did THAT, I opened my eyes to extreme headpain which hasn't stopped ever since. THAT is not a natural state. How is repeating a mantra, equivalent to hot springs? LOL.

  • Yo c, another way of relaxing is to focus inward. Calming down. Have you had the realization yet that all 'disease' comes from thought? So it wasn't repeating something that gave you pain, it was thought. Repeat C Edgar Mitchell, it won't give you pain. I wonder what you were thinking while you were repeating your mantra. That, or some other thought energy from elsewhere, is what gave you the pain my fine brother.

  • Maybe the constant repeating of that sound somehow takes the brain out of its natural state. There is no thought going on, because you're bombarding it with the mantra. Even doctors tell you that they still know very little of how the brain works. If it makes you feel good to do that, great. But don't deny the possibility that it can cause averse reactions just because you may not have experienced them. Because I did. And it fucking sucks. Google "kundalini symptoms". I'm not the only 1.
