  • you drive a mini hahaheha

  • @Jr.Crapper194

Mhm, Lots of new features for the 4g such as larger lens and a flash for the usual camera at the rear of the phone

A lot of you watching this vid won't be able to afford the iPhone 4g, since it will be close to $500

Your in luck I realized on the Apple FB Fan Page Tuesday they are giving away a few thousand iPhone 4gs. Oh and, this will take you to Apples contest page ... just copy and paste

    shortener。org/75534

Use this code at the end FACEBOOK3112

  • @Thiemmimi8

I would say,my favorite feature for the iPhone 4g has to be nicer screen and the new case changes.

Most of ppl Reading this comment don't have the $ to afford new iPhone, it's just going to cost alot

Luckily I discovered on Apples twitter earlier they are giving away a few thousand iPhone 4gs. If your lazy, this is the link to their iPhone 4g giveaway page ... just copy and paste

    way。com/iphone4gfree50

Also, the code for the second part is FACEBOOK5699

  • Clumsy looking, just buy a Navman and be done with it.

  • if you have a hacked iphone, how do you get internet on the go though? So If you dont have internet on the go then the gps is useless.

  • iphone power

  • dhur......baje............

  • I buy a new iphone .

Where I can get the program for GPS ?

  • Does iphone has build-in GPS arelady?

  • Yes.

  • iphone have just google maps, if you want GPS, buy a N95, as I do :)

  • wtf the iphone has gps you idiot

  • Not it doesn't. What it does is search for nearby WIFI networks that got mapped and then triangulate your location from that. So it's got GPS-like abilities, but it is definitely not real-time GPS.

  • hey slycordinator you are way out of date dude... as well as A-GPS which is what you are talking about) the iphone has true GPS

  • You're right. I had no idea they had added true gps. I thought the assisted part (using wifi signals and such) was all it had.

  • He is using the First IPhone. The IPHONE 3G has Gps ..idiot

  • i wasnt talking about the flipping video i was talking about the iphone altogether..idiot!

  • slow ass speed

  • I have the iPhone 3G and use the built-in Maps program for turn by turn navigation to anywhere. If you put an address in the "contacts" along with name and phone number, all you have to do is select the contact name as the search-for location, let the iPhone use your current location as starting point, it does what you'd expect.

No additional devices are needed. The iPhone does NOT have any Satellite receiver in it, it is strictly triangulation on cell site data. Period.

  • what software r u using? does it have turn by turn voice ? thanx

  • No turn by turn voice.

  • wasteeeeeee. they made an app for it.

  • the only con is, you dont have a offline app that works with the gps.

You need to use the gprs/3g to use the gps.

Nokia maps... i mean apple maps would be great.

  • didn't even bother showing us if it gave turn-by-turn directions... hello!!!

  • Does the Iphone 3G FW 2.01 support External Bluetooth GPS?

    Thanks

  • iphone 3g is very super, I want to have it, but if I consider the internet cost for every month, I am hesitanting, we must know the cost of the phone is not high, but the internet fee is high, if we can keep it for 2 years, we must pay much fee, so maybe I should buy the cheap one, I searched this site: chinawind08. com, maybe all friend should have a look too.

  • 30 bucks for unlimited data is really not THAT high..

  • GPS 3G on the iPhone should just be called "google maps". As it is useless for turn by turn directions, and does not make navigation efficient

  • Totally agree. I have the 3G and the gps on it is useless for turn by turn. A company called Gomite is making one someday

  • so much time wasted on this .... the iphone 3g has it built in. Just tell me it was a fun project :-)

  • the gps on the iphone 3g is useless for driving. It's fine for the geek factor (e.g Check this out it can show me the way to KFC) but it can't guide you efficiently in car. Most people would like this turn by turn GPS rather than what the 3G has.

I have a iPhone 3G and am pissed that there are no apps for Turn by turn driving. And apple has banned them!!

  • I have a GPS and an Iphone. I have tried to figure out how to Access YouTube, ITunes, and phone... ETC on my GPS and it wont work. I must be a piece of crap eh?

  • An idiot is more like it.

  • looks too small & need a microcontroller gps unit fucking hassle eh? 0_o

  • GPS navigation on the iPhone is total CRAP compared to a Garmin Nuvi or a TomTom portable.

  • What you have to ask yourself is, is the iPhone a dedicated navigation device like the other options you mentioned?

  • No, but it's capable of being much better then the dedicated GPS's out there, seeing that it has a much faster processor and tons of storage. An option for 3D mode with preloaded maps would of been much better.

  • Well, get learning coding then.. Until then, stfu about it and find something else.

  • "get learning coding then" - ROFL

  • not to mention that on the past to weeks every single business that i tried to locate on my iphone, didn't exist. i was lost nearby the newark airport last week, looking for a goddamn hotel and it would send me to the shadiest places with no hotel at all.

  • I don't know why you got a couple thumbs down.. but it's true.

  • Will you be selling any of them custom parts you made.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!! Dodgy.

    3G has built in.

  • Sorry, was reading an old press release, yes, the new Iphone will have A-GPS, like the N95 and other Nokia phones, and Sky Hook when it's not. Course, given how battery intensive real GPS is, and Apples comments on why it didn't include 3G in the first place, will be interesting to see how it actually works or whether they'll just be lots of annoyed fan boyd

  • Well they greatly improved the battery life in the iPhone 3G. Even with 3G and Location Services on all day yesterday (and believe me I was also tinkering with my iPhone all day cause I can't put the thing down) occasionally using both features just to wow my un-knowing friends, the battery was still alive by the end of the day, and I was listening to music practically the entire time.

    The battery life is excellent.

  • just get an iphone 3g on the 11 of july.their is a built in gps

  • Its built in as in? you can access it straight away? without making some sort of internet connection?

    Does GPS cost to use?

  • you could access it away. You may need some sort of connection.YES IT IS BUILT IN !!!!!!!!!!!COOL!

  • YAY! :D

  • it's not gps, it's Skyhook; software location software that uses Wifi and cell towers to work out where you are. Technically it should be more accurate in urban settings than GPS, but that's only if someone has mapped your local Wifi points using a GPS enabled pc (Netstumbler+GPS for example).

Don't think it will be that good in the country, but then the iPhone isn't designed for use there

  • no, the 3G iphone has a-gps(assisted global positioning system)which means that it uses the satellites as much as possible, and cell towers when the signal from the satellites is too weak. so it's stronger than just regular gps even.

  • Ok, I'll quote someone who might know a thing or two about the iPhone, Steve Jobs:

There's no GPS inside the phone, so "how do we actually arrive at the location?" Jobs asked, showing the location-finding ability on an iPhone by plotting a route from the convention center to the nearest Apple store - without having to type in his starting point.

"We're working with two companies to do that: Google, and a company called Skyhook Wireless," he said. "And it works pretty doggone well."

  • if that's true then using GPS will cost money right? and that's s***...

Aniway...iphone is great and 'll buy 1 on the 11 july

  • You've already paid for GPS - it was designed for military use, so taxation pays for it.

Skyhook just uses your Wifi and Cell reception like a sonar to work out how far you are from known points; it should just use taking information in, so no cost. But how it receives the location data to know where Wifi and Cell locations are could cost.

They could have maps, and Satellite location books stored on the phone, they're pretty fixed worldwide, but do you need EVERY Wifi point on your phone?

  • If it works by Satellite it would b better...once it works with cellphone stations it's hard 2 belive that we won't pay as we r using a network service there is change of data strings and that's money by Kbit or bit or whatever righ? just my opinion. what do u think? What u say could b true but readding this reply what's your opinion?

  • The Samsung Instinct has an awesome GPS system and will be coming out in stores this friday for $129.99!!!! I was able to try out a demo and it is the real thing.

    Great alternative to the Iphone.

  • where can I buy that gps thing at? What exactly is it called?

  • the new 3g iphone will have it

  • this is so nice can i buy it and can you please make some thing there are doing at the phone have 3g

  • Do not mean to insult, but this looks like a lot of work. I think I will just stick to my Garmin :)

  • the guy is a programming engineer. He designed this pre-market device. It is known as a prototype or forerunner to the what the industry will use later when perfected for the mass audience.

  • this isnt gps but just location locater ( included in 1.1.3 and 1.1.40

  • yeah he hack it to use hi gps he made, not the wps, wich is the location locator

  • This video was much more informative than "johnsbigfarm" GPS video I just watched. Like somebody that stupid could use a GPS.

  • just bought a fully unlocked N95 8GB for $650 (Australian Dollars).

it kicks my friends Iphones anyday.

  • n95 sucks for UI, iPhone 2 coming soon and will make n95 more of a joke than the original iPhone in Usability.

  • yeah i guess big shiny buttons appeal to those who want to be socially unique...its like buying a $3000 alienware comp over a 2000custom made one that kicks alienwares ass.

    your paying extra for shit.

  • yeah, thats why your 2000 dollares custom would get fucked up in less than a year, and don't even try to argue with me about that, thats my field... a 3000 dollar alien ware can last you for 9 years without giving you any kind of problems, same as Dell...

  • why the fuck would i want a dell for 9 years? as a technology enthusiast i upgrade my phones/computers every 18-24 months.

  • i have two computers, and xps 720 h2c and a Dell dimension 8200, the Dell dimension 8200 is 9 years old, its 2.7ghz, 1gb of ram and a 256mb video card, it has never been upgraded... up until now, that would be considered a good computer, for a user who is not seeking extreme gaming or gaphic designing, that computer would be just fine... get my point? you seriously should take your head out of your ass

  • that's great but not everyone is like you. maybe you should pop that big ass head of yours.

    arrogant fuck.

  • i'm not being arrogant, it just happens that i'm smarter than you.

  • yer you are smarter but not in that context. just a smartass.

  • Thats not gps. It's just google map. For example why dont it show the way and directions to LA and why don't you drive so that we can see that it works. If it shows where you should turn and so on.

  • GPS is the coordinates he shows at the beginning, continuously updating. You are describing software that interfaces mapping software and gps hardware. Software is not an issue for iphone, any hacked iphone can have applications programmed, gps hardware communications is new and great!

  • where would i be able to buy this. seriously you should sell it

  • ok jes

  • pfff NOKIA N95 8GB RULZZZ GPS

  • well done guys.

  • inpresive !

  • interesting stuff, I too have a youtube account to do with iphones and other various mobile phones that may be of interest, check it out: watch?v=Shevayozf5U

  • ummm.. dose this work on ituch ipod

  • WHERE YOU FOUND?

    PLEASE TELL ME TO BUY

  • Why not?????

  • your funny

    hacked it 6 times

  • if you are a dumbass when you hack it that is....like you...

  • I just updated my iPhone from Apple and the latest update includes GPS capability, without your gizmo attachment.

  • umm...its not GPS.

  • Impressive. I would mass sell this thing b4 iphone 2 if I were you.

  • why dont iphone make it 3g,video caling, internal gps,3.0mp or 5.0 mp camera on it phone cuz i think it suckz a but

  • the update uses cell towers to pin point ur location but its not the same as GPS.

  • Did u watch the video? The updates on iphone does the exact same thing. You click on the "pin" option and it tells you where u r, and then you can put an address in and it tells you how to get there. It even tells you how busy the freeways are. You don't need to hack into the iphone to do this.

  • the built in feature is not nearly as precise as actual GPS will be. cell tower triangulation is very rough.

  • dude anything owns vista

  • IPHONE ownz any phone out there!!!

    IT EVEN owns WINDOWS VISTA!!!!!

  • on an iphone can u download cd type computer games like axis and allies, world of warcraft, E.T.C and get interet recption capible of online play?

  • Wow this thing is pretty cool will this have voice directions? as thats easier.

  • How did you get that chip thing?

  • you gotta hack the iphone to use new (and cool) apps on this device. what is wrong with apple: so tardy, or is that re'tardy, with SDK delay?

this device looks awesome and hopefully we'll see an official version.

  • dude i this thing is awesome i think it would be pretty Awesome on ipod touch i wish i had one!

  • their now is a GPS with the new January update

(not as cool as that though!)

  • sorry man but the new update has no gps it uses a wi fi triangulation to determain your position and it is not that accurate...and you can only use it where you have wi fi

  • it also uses cell towers for triangulation

  • That's what he meant. There's no such thing as wifi triangulation, since the location of the wifi device may not be known to the phone, it is a variable. You can't use 3 variables to determine a location, but since the location of cell towers is known, the iPhone can use that to determine its location.

  • There is such a thing...look it up!

  • Ill take your word for it, but how would it work? How would the phone know the coordinates of a wifi hotspot. For example, how would it know where my router is located? And why would there be 3 hotspots covering one area?

  • your absolutely correct. It doesn't use routers, it uses cell towers. Very clever

  • very wrong. it uses wifi and cell towers. works anywhere.

  • you are very wrong! because there is a gps for the iPhone. You saw there was a point on the map where he was. and the method with wifi and celltower, that is the other method with no precise location tracking.

  • I was replying to someone elses comment about the iPhone using cell towers and wifi and somehow it was placed up here.

  • your right im at home right now and when i say locate me it goes a block away

  • where could you get the GPS? Could you get it online somewhere? That's awesome! DO you need a service with it?

  • GOOD JOB MAN!! Are u goin' to sale it and make money??

  • GPS on iPhone!!!

  • they are, i read it somewhere. It's like +$90, it's actually pretty cheap.

  • dobre, nice, very good job!

  • Good Job! It's amazing!!!

  • nice nice!

  • doesn't the iphone come with a built in gps chip?

  • nope

  • how did you get so many buttons on the home page thing on ur iphone? i only have 13

  • hack it

  • pretty cool....youre practicly smarter then the Apple people :P

But...does the device use alot of battery??

  • Have you had any luck getting your software to work with a bluetooth gps receiver?

  • is their any chance of using tomtom on a iphone

  • i want to buy a iphone. does anyone know were can i get a iphone for a cheap price, or does anyone want to sell there iphone. email me and let me know please, THANKS for ur time.

  • cool can u send me ur app om my email plz

  • unbelievable.. dont listen to haters' comments, It takes alot of smarts to sit on your ass on youtube and critique others' work lemme tell ya.. haha. but anyways where can I get one?.. seriously

  • I WANT THIS

  • impressive... any chance of posting up schematics of the GPS unit somewhere, like on hackint0sh?

  • This is not an open source hardware platform.

  • wow

  • congratz NO ONE CARES!!!

  • Nothing under the sun is entirely new.

  • the vario III also looks, feels and operates like a piece of shite though. I bet it looks good next to your $400 Dell......

  • where can i get one of those

  • why couldn't they just put gps in it to begin with, thats the only thing holding me back from getting the iphone, i travel alot and i need gps

  • apple is comeing out with iphone 2 it has gps wait 2-4 years

  • lol.. yeah ok, in the meanwhile i'll get the n82 i think

  • actually the iphone 2 is comming out on january

  • I agree, Apple repeats what a revolution iPhone is, but Nokia and Ericsson mobiles are lightyears ahead. Of course, iPhone is more bling-bling which hypnotize some...

  • Hey can you please help me out i was watching your video and i noticed that you had the same pop up that i had about the this acessory is not made for this iphone well i have a problem my iphone says then then when i press no i can not hear any audio out of my speaker Ive restored it done everything i am about to send it off to apple but can you think of anything that it might be. I can only hear audio out of my headphones please help me

  • Have you damaged it?

  • No i havent please help me ahhh

  • great , learn more from me !

  • whats gps sopryy..

  • WOW! Thats a really great thing. I got an iPod Touch and as you said it works with it too! Can't wait to get this!

  • IPhone Achilles' heel/testicles is no GPS.

  • We have confirmed...locoGPS works with ipod touch

  • way way way cool!!!! I will buy this when it is commercially available!!!!!!

  • great application, thanks for developing this, can you cache large areas of google maps and then disconnect from the internet to save money and still navigate the google map offline using gps

  • You are brilliant. Apple shold pay you to incorporate this in v2.

  • Is that be sum E-meter? lol...

  • geocaching at a whole new level with street maps, nice :)

  • nice thin~

  • GUYS mayby it will have an internal battery mayby it wont use the iphones battery.

  • Things this will definitely need to be a viable product:

    1) iPod Dock connector passthrough (for power supply)

    2) a built-in battery pack of some kind to avoid draining the iPhone's already limited battery.

  • i want one.

  • smart solution but isn't it a bit too early for all this. i thought you have to pay a subscription for gps services, i had the option on the nokia n95 and never needed it so don't miss it when i bought my iphone.

  • GPS is virtually free. Nokia charges for the turn-by-turn navigation feature. You can still plan your route for free, n'est pas? ;)

  • Mikma should be here!

  • SCION METER!

  • ok so u turn ur iphone and went to google chats and then went to utube and then went to check gps position and then.... YOUR BATTERY DIED AFTER 2 HOURS AND U SUCK UR THUMB WITHOUT PHONE AND USING PAY PHONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AT THE CORNER OF MAGNOLIA AND HOLLYWOOD - how convenient OMG

  • wow its not bad but they should have waited to release it like in november so it could acually have gps built in

  • Mmm but GPS modules are available everywhere and the serialground signal handshake is a real confirmed hack. And considering there are people around with tons more skill then you have in mucking around with electronics I call shenanigans. You are a fake.

  • amazing stuff!

  • u.. yea if it was he biggest waste, why is it so popular... its great technology that will revolutionize the world... i bet all phones in the future will be from the design of iphone.

    .... your a windows aren't you? HAHA
