I'm guessing it's not good for a unit like that to be stuck in defrost mode, is it? Can it be easily fixed? Can the compressor or coils be damaged of this happens? How are you going to fix the problem? Yeah it has been a bit chilly in Melbourne over the past week or so.
would the timer come unstuck if you smacked the side of the box where the controls and defrost timer are?

@Lachlant1984 no its not good. it can slug the comp. and it could crack a coil if unlucky.

wow haha something's stuck probably because it doesn't go into defrost much. I've never seen a portable heat pump like that over here
