I found this brilliant even when I was too young to get all these jokes. The animators do an awesome job lampooning "The Who" with great eyes for detail. Kieth's haricut is spot on and they gave Pete his red SG too! It's also funny that they put a question mark on the bass drum. Just more reasons to LOVE Animaniacs!

Slappy is an old xcartoon character that thrived on being an old character the Warners are 30s cartoons doing Marx Bros. stuff etc.Most of Animaniacs was inspired by older skits and cartoons just adapted and many times even improved
