  • With the Liberal Socialist mob violence in Britain right now, it is easy to see how modern Liberal Radicals are a lot like those of the French Revolution days of the past. They don't care when they choose to go crazy and lawless and start burning stuff. The French Revolution was nothing like ours in the US. The French and their revolution suck!! btw,,Marats killer Charlette Corday was a girl from the country like most members of the Girondins, she wanted to stop the Jacobin killing spree.

  • Jean Paul Marat was a member of the Jacobins, the intercity far left radical socialists. They were middle class but pretended to be hard working blue collar people. Him and Rose Pierre led the killing of all opposition to their leftist efforts with the guillotine. Our founding was not gained by killing all who didn't agree or beheading a king. We wanted "informed" revolution to gain PERSONAL Liberty, not bloody Mob revolution for "social Justice". We fought an ARMY for it, not the people.

  • Bunch of retarded comments from retarded losers. LOL. I laugh at the stupidity I read on youtube sometimes and today is one of those days. RIP Marat. You might have been crazy, but at least you weren't a sack of shit like the Girondins.

  • Marat fucking lost it, but to say Charlotte Corday was any better than him is retarded. Everyone unfortunately got fucking lost in the factions and Terror. Shit wasn't even as bad when Marat was around. It got WORSE after his death, so fuck anyone saying he was the architect of the terror. A lot of things he stood for were GOOD. He was a bit vicious in some of his writings, but at least he spoke his mind, which is something you rarely see these days. PS David is the greatest artist from then.

  • very interesting film. You could build on this good video to make a longer one incorporating more of the classical paintings, but keeping the actors in the modern setting as well. I liked this video.

  • Marat simply took advantage of the revolution. He was a master opportunist and an extremely good writer. with such qualities, either Madman or Saint you can work wonders during a revolution.

  • marat mon amour!!! je t'aime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • a martyr?? Marat?? the author of a fascism matching Hitlers future insanity! Marat, and his boyfriend, Robespierre, were demonic creatures! and 55,000 souls posthumously agree with me! damn them both! Vive Charlotte Courday!! Hero of France and the cleanser of corruption!!

  • death of a killer...

  • so you know he never killed anyone given he suggested people but he had no control over the final decision.

  • If anything, Corday seems like the martyr taking out this monster knowing sure death awaited her.

  • martyr... lol

  • martyr .......... LOL

  • David was awesome, the greatest painter in his time

  • you look gay with the towel on your head!!!

  • Marat is a martyr you right!

  • where's Roberspier? wanna take a bath tube?

  • Martyr?

This guy was just like Stalin

  • kill and be killed....?

  • i'd like to thank everyone for their input. it was a one-shot thing and i apologize for any historical inaccuracies. the main reason for the title was just used as a sarcastic remark as to how Marat viewed himself. I am well aware of how much of a bastard he was, but I just used this video to view some points of his life and how it affected the French Revolution as a whole. Again thank you for everyone's input and if you would like to criticize this video, tell me how to make it better.

  • Marat was a blood-thirsty lunatic! The martyrs were the Chouans and Vendéens!!! Millions dead because of men like him!!!

  • Fair enough but we agree that Marat was not a martyr. And that's the most important point.

  • Well, yes, he WAS a Martyr. All what books saids about him being an assassing is pure invention.

But I don't like this video. As an Historian, I simply hate pieces with people dressed as XXI century representing something that happened at the XVIII's one. Ugh

  • Marquis de Laffayette got accuesed by Marat.

  • Martyr??? That sack of shit deserves to die a million times over. Your video sucks, by the way.

  • OKay, who the hell are you to say someone desrves to die? Are you God? Are you Jesus? You can't say some stupid ass bullshit like that! You fishy and you need to give me that neck. You salty. Got you. Shut the fuck up. You on hush mode.

  • He was not a martyr. He was one of the guys going nuts after the very good thing that was the revolution and transforming it in a terror time.

  • Well said. Long live the memory of Charlotte Corday.

  • You are right, Marat is not too different from some of the worst dispots today, and Oh, by the way, dispite that the Girondists were weak, they were going to create a government similar to the American Republic, Charlotte Corday was a heroine of the republic, long live her MEMORIES!!! As said by most of the Girondists toward their death, "We may have been doomed to die because of her, she taught us how to die!"

  • INDEED! As always, France saved by its women... Something to meditate upon...
