  • I now stand corrected as far as my previous comment. There is now one dislike. One person is afraid to go out at night.

  • I knew this song was in a Beer Commercial, I just forgot which one. But NOW I remember Michelob was on that "Beer Of The Night" schtick. I think they used "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" by Genesis in another ad.

  • I'm delighted to see there are no dislikes to this video. That's rare. 261 people know what the night can do.

  • He looked so hot in this music video.

  • Oh boy! This brought back memories from the 80's. Back when real music and inspiration was made. I miss those days so bad, everything was pure and new.

  • Gah Winwood was so hot in this! I think I was in middle school when this first came out!

  • This is probably my favorite from Stevie Winwood, but has anyone else noticed that some of the people look like they are native Americans, like from Arizona, and some look they are from South America, like down in Argentina? I can't quite place where the scene might be taking place. It's just interesting -- I still totally love the video. Very expressive, and I love his voice. Love him!

  • feels so good, we're crying!

  • He was 40 years old when this was shot - not too bad

  • Love it, love it love it. How come songs like this get little or no air time...? I used to play it on my show on community radio in south-east London in the late '80s. It seemed/is such a great song - catchy romantic and atmosperhic....

  • Yes, Steve. We know that the night can do! Thanks for this sultry reminder.

  • I still get goosebumps listening to this song.

I just only wish that they had the Internet (as well as YouTube) back in 1988 (because I know I probably would have been watching this video on YouTube all the time back in 1988).

  • Steve hit #6 in Billboard, 10-29-88. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • such a sensual song

  • I wanna wrestle with you babe in bed,my night with you chuck, then, night takes its cost:))))

  • This music is perfect for the warm summer nights.

  • Reminds me of the great and good times of those Eighties nights Those were magical times. I actually heard this in 198, sitting at a restaurant in Six Flags Atroworld in Houston during a hot 4th of July. Boy, do I miss that place.

  • i really like this song, i like the mood & atmosphere it make you feel. great tune

  • Funny, this song is about the night, yet, it appears to be shot during the day. What's the logic in that? Don't get me wrong, the tune's OK, it's just the entire video should have been shot at night.

  • @kja427 The fire scenes "look" night... or at least they tried to fake it and it somehow seems to be.

  • LOVE this song....sexy, slightly haunting, gives me a few chills. And it's from a period in my life when things were fantastic...sigh.

  • Do you feel it? Were you there too? Evening in front of the TV, the latest episode of Miami Vice we've all been waiting all week for, the Michelob commercial hits....

  • @RacerXGTO It seems like it was better back then, when we had to wait for things. The suspense, and anticipation . . . everything was more exciting and enjoyed!

  • 1988.......those were some great times........

  • 80s MUSIC WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST:)

  • Now, THIS is real music! Not like today, unfortunately.

  • Billboard's #88 hit of '88. Steve hit #1 rock, #2 AC,#6 pop, in Billboard. God bless!

  • Conan O'Brien was a great signer back in the day.

  • great song and a multi talented artist

  • He is so sexy!!!

  • wow, Hugh Jackman can really sing!

  • A song that reminds me of driving the brightly lit canyons of Midtown Manhattan on a warm muggy summer night and thinking about what the night can do.

  • I've always liked this song ever since I first heard it when I bought an audio tape of "Roll With It" before it became popular. :)

  • I remember hating this song with a passion and now I love it...funny...

  • i ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS SONG, i ALSO FANCIED THE BACK SIDE OFF STEVE, BUT HE AS DEFINATLY AGED. BUT i STILL SWOON OVER THE OLD STUFF!!SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, i FORGOT TO TAKE IT OFF, AND TOO DREAMY TO START AGAIN LOL

  • Hit #1 rock, #2 AC, #6 in the US. How'd it do in the UK? God bless!

  • the winwood looks hot in this vid!

  • Makes me a crave a Michelob. LOL

  • This song being released as a single came about kinda the same way Genesis's "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" did. It's a really awesome tune. Steven Winwood is one of my all time faves.

  • The lad has one great voice! Love the background singers at the end.

  • :) tune!

  • I love this ballad!!!!....steve....your soul voice still amazes me like the very first time I listened to you.....I always dreamed of backing you up in this song....

    Love you....and love your talent....

  • I Love This Steve Winwood Music Video, "Don't You Know What The Night Can Do?" From 1988, Which Was A Top 10 Hit In America.

  • the greatness that was the 80s.

  • Thanx for this vid!!

I love the 80's and 90's, but my god women were so f-ing hot in the 80's. They weren't full of tattoos, cellulite, and piercings. Maybe why I fly with the pink air force now?!?

  • @gravelandgrain100 I totally agree with you!

  • @gravelandgrain100 Yeah sure, videos are an accurate reflection of life.

  • hit #6 in Billboard. Did it chart in the UK? God bless!

  • I remember "Rolling Stone" commenting on the album "Roll With It".

It was interesting. "The most likable boring album of the year".

I thought it was appropriate. There were no big surprises. But the album had some good music.

  • Anyone know what the music video is before this song. I'm stumped.

  • "Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)" by Sheena Easton

  • I remember watching this on a beer commercial when I was a little girl. Had kind of a crush on Steve too!

  • Steve was performing at the Super Bowl XLIV pregame show and he has aged a bit in the past 21+ years.

  • @NightTracksClassic You think!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @NightTracksClassic Lol, I think anyone would age in 21 years ;) Did he sound good? What did he sing? :)

  • @CheekyVic1280 I know, huh. Unfortunately, most people in their 60s do not age well. It's simply a matter of taking care of yourself (eating well, exercising, etc) that makes the difference. Steve Winwood looked amazingly well on David Letterman a few weeks ago. Looked very youthful.

  • @NightTracksClassic I saw him on David Letterman not that long ago. He looked excellent for his age (60+). He looked very youthful and vibrant. Paul McCartney has the same effect on me. Add John Fogerty to that list, too. All three look amazingly well for their age.

  • @NightTracksClassic I remember Steve Winwood wore sunglasses while performing his music.

  • Ah yes, the famous Miller night time ad campaign of the late 80's. Another used was "Tonight, tonight, tonight" by Genesis.

  • @MaimedAngel I think you meant "Michelob - Talking Back to the Night" It's on YouTube

  • @MaimedAngel "The Night Belongs to Michelob!" I remember that very well because this song was used in those ads before the album was released, and I couldn't wait to hear the full version. The cassette single also had a very cool instrumental version on the B side. I should copy that to some digital form before the tape degrades since it probably won't be officially released again.

  • @MaimedAngel The song "Back in the High Life" was used for Miller Genuine Draft Beer commercial- for their "Miller High Life" brand beer- came out in 1987-88. I was in high school at that time and remember very vividly.

  • Song 5 Stars !!!

  • love his voice

  • Thanks Night Tracks!

  • '88 was a good year period!

  • There was alot of classy sophisticated pop music made by and for adults back in the mid to late 80's. I am sure that demographics in the U.S. had something to do with this. The audience was there for this kind of music.

A good song by an outstanding artist and vocalist. Well produced. Though he did take some flak from critics for selling it to michelob for a beer commercial. But those commercials were nicely done

  • PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Absolutely amazing song, incredible lyrics, great technically, melodicaly and musical intensity.

  • great songs thank you to steven

    theyed be missing wihou you

    inspiring societal comment songs

  • One of his best. Thanks Night Tracks. I remember hearing this in a restaurant in my favorite amusement park, Astroworld in Houston back in 1987. Brings back great memories.

  • Ahhhhhh....ASTROWORLD! Yesssss!! I have many great memories there as well!

  • I love this so much...always...

  • OHHHHH, Take me back!!

  • Love this project! Remember when it was a Michelob commercial?

  • yes i was in the 6th grade =) still one of my favorite songs to listen to on repeat!

  • @dmainfla

YES! I remember those Michelob commercials, haha! This song takes me WAY back! GOD, '88 was a great year for music!

  • For some reason I thought it was Coke...Michelob?? interesting (but clever I guess) song choice for beer, LOL..."feel the night music playing...don't you know what it's saying...we should feel it together, for FOREVERRR....feel the beat and just hold on, to the sweet midnight flowing...."

  • 名曲だぁね☆
