I've caught snippets of this production here on you tube and as far as expanding the cast is concerned it works in this Life Cafe scene very well plus gives those extras stage experience for later shows. Mark is GREAT!! Look out Anthony Rapp. considering this is high school a very notable presentation from all involved.

I say the same thing about profane movies they try to show on family TV: if you have to edit out things that add to the show's entertainment (i.e. swear words, references to sex, lesbian kisses), maybe you've considered the wrong show for your audience. Especially coming from a theatrical background, I believe this show is made more powerful because it's so raw. Don't get me wrong, this was a gallant try, I just think your cast is too young. Not the show for a high school cast

And I'm not saying that high school students don't understand the material, just that the parents of aforementioned high school students have in the past had a huge problem with seeing their children act out scenes of a provocative nature. Therefore, the show has to be hugely edited and chopped up, which, in my opinion, causes it to lose some of its power.

You know, I really enjoy the fact that RENT us reaching out to the younger people of the world, but this scene, or show for that matter, just doesn't seem to work with large casts. Like, I think you all were wonderful, seriously, but I felt the stage was very cluttered, and that it would have been more enjoyable had there been maybe sixteen - twenty actors. As for the acting, one of the best productions I have seen so far, and congratulations on being able to perform such a wonderful musical!

I love how Jonathan Larson based "RENT" off of "La Boheme", the opera. The word "rent" does not only mean something you owe to a landlord, but a rip as well. For example, the rip in the community that is America. That was his purpose, to repair the rent in America. "RENT" is about community, love, and living the way of the Bohemians: no day but today.
