The National Endowment for the Humanities has previously worked for and with the Annenberg Foundation(which in turn has also worked with their channel, Annenberg Media(previously known as Annenberg/CPB because of the Corporation for Public Braodcasting, and some of their shows), in order to grant fund, and sponser shows from PBS affiliates in order to grant fund.
