does anybody know who sings this song named praise ye the lord, it has a quick drum beat. some of the lyrics say praise ye the lord(x4) king of kings lord of lords everlasting father. i would deeply appreciate anybody who finds it.
Julia Mae Kennedy was the First Minister of Music at First Church of Deliverance, and then came Mr. Ralph H. Goodpasteur and Frederika Thorpe. All wonderful choral conductor's. If you really wanted to see a choir in order and singing flat footed, no rocking and sing under the annoiting, go to First church. O What a time.
A bit of History, Mrs. Julia M. Kennedy arranged this arrangement of the Lord's Prayer and she also placed it in the black church, First church being the First church to sing Mallottes Lord's prayer in any black church. You haven't heard it sang untll you've heard First church sing it. Rev. Nicks admired it so, he went back to Detroit and recorded it.
To My Brother - we are ALL enriched because of your most valued and sacred contributions to YouTube! All of these vintage St. James is priceless! Songs I grew up on as a child, buying every record that they made, emulating my most honorable tutor of Hammond Organ music, Rev. Charles Nicks. The voice of St. James yet lives on in so many of us, who continue to carry the torch for great foundational gospel singing that continues to reach the masses over the Internet! Is there a DVD? God BLess U!
are you serious? i'm from Chicago and even I KNOW YOU'RE TRIPPIN WITH THAT STATEMENT!! St. James in their heyday was THE GREATEST CHOIR PERIOD!! theirs and First Church Of Deliverance versions of The Lord's Prayer are quite simply matchless!!
First Church, Fellowship and St. James has and well always be some of the greatest ministry ever existed. These Churches along many others has been connected down through the years and never flet the need to out do one another. I agree all version are wonderful, but I must say! When St. James recorded the Lord's Prayer and on many many etc. special occassions recevd standing applas. I haven't seen nor heard of any other to recevd a standing ovation/acord
Lord I miss this church!!! i was a little kid and can remember the night services & waiting on my mother @ choir rehersal

I agree with titusone51, St. James' version of the Lord's Prayer is just simply original and tight.

Why is the director wearing gloves and who are the 2 people standing to the side holding hands.
Monk3597 3 years ago
he wore the gloves because of him having lupus. The illness made the nerves in his hands real sensitive.
