it revvs so high cuz of the power chip ..is an older model wich made hp from raising the rev limitter. Nowadays the remap for the ecu doe the job more eficient in any way and protect the engine. And by the way mate...the car runs great...take care of it.

2st gear-100 km/h

@matte102 Because the torque plummets after 6500 rpm. U can see the curves dropping rapidly at any dyno graph beyond a certain point. Beyond that is useless.

If U shift up at the right moment ( right at 6500) the next gear will benefit from the all the torque the engine can give.

If u shift too late, u miss a few hundred rpm's worth of torque, thus U will go slower.

Revving the nuts off things won't make em go any faster.

@spl3ndr If you look at curves you also know that the torque is dropping after it's climax at 3500 rpm. maximum power is generated at 6500 rpm with the powerchip installed. Rev limit moved up to 7000 rpm. So the real question is not about the torque (power and torque is different things), it's about were you find maximum power. In this case my feeling is that i benefit of almost hitting the limiter. I have certainly not tested it on a serious level so it's just my feeling.

I dont know if u can take out any more horsepowers on buying an "effektanlegg" = "powerexhaust" Which usually increases the HP or torque (not sure, not really my field, but know its possible on most cars)

I havent seen one single Vr6 without turbo, doing 0-60 under real (measured/verified) 7,8 Seconds. I had a Golf VR6 2,8 and this strange Ruh Ruhh Ruhh machine was not impressive at all, 0-60 mph in around 8 seconds with manual gearbox,reved to allmost 7 Grand never ever was the Vr crap as fast as this BMW.

What the hell are you on about? M54 blocks are one of the most reliable engines of there times if maintained. And how the hell does a LSD help on a rear wheel drive car going in a straight line. It helps on front wheel drive as it eliminates torque steer. The drive shafts on a rear diff are equal length. Equal power to both wheels at the same time.

LSD on front wheel driving cars also eliminates the spinning of the wheels because it transfers some percent of torque to the wheel with the most traction, otherwise the wheel with the less traction whould spin too much.So the car has much better traction on quick starts.Now did you understoud??

The time itself is not impressive but the fact that the car should run 0-60 i 8,5s but in this case do it in less then 7,5s is impressive for a stock with (at the moment) 310 000 km on the meter. The only thing done with the car is an installation of a chip from a tuning company.

I do run 0-60 mph in around 7 seconds (7,03 is the record). I measured these runns with a G-tech Pro.

In these tests the car has been running on 15" wheels. The temperature han been below zero so the conditions han been the very good.

Many engines can handle more than the designated redline. I'm sure the people at BMW marked redline where they did for a reason. I guarantee power output drops even before redline, so you're just needlessly overrevving the engine, causing extra wear and tear. But had they marked the tach to 9,000rpm, you'd probably think it necessary to rev it to that too. Sigh...

max power output is at about 6k revs but after shifting up the revs usually drop below 5k and you can also reach 100KM/H in second gear if you rev up to 7k, thats why the time is so different from stock engine, so its not that stupid to rev beyond the factory rev limit... but you are right about the wear and tear.. wouldnt want my 525i to rev that high....

It's just the brakelightsensor. It's a common defect on this model. The brakelight is working fine, but it's sending out this warning anyway.
