You should try to get him/her a little bit more "up hill" when you change the speed whatever you say in english... (hahaa)your horse moves nicely though and it looks okay to me.
Oh yes, our downward transitions were a bit messy and abrupt at that point. He was getting us to do it 'now' instead of taking forever and preparing to make it perfect. So, at first it takes a bit to keep everything together, when we got home everything came together proper prep and timing.
OK, so every Olympian ever to win a medal started out with a perfect half-pass right? WRONG. Hehehe. You guys look good together. He has a nice cadence. Although I know very little about dressage, I do know he looks relaxed and willing, and you have a good rhythm with him. Nicely done!
sounds like a good trainer to ride with. I like how quiet and nice he is while still instructing. I miss riding in rings like that!
I've been working with my horse on half pass, and now I want to run out to the barn and try it off the circle. I'll just have to add it to my notes. :)
you have a lovely horse. The two of you look well together. Good luck in your work!
Thank you! He is a wonderful clinician, firm and helpful without being harsh. Wish you well with your half passes, circles will absolutely help - you can set up you and your horse and already have the correct position coming out of the circle. ^_^
I got to work with the idea just yesterday, and it was remarkable how much easier it was to do! He's already set up, so all I have to do is move him over. Very cool.
What a nice place to ride! You are so lucky to be expose to such great horses and trainers. Awesome job - I would love to be able to look like that on the flat :)
wow! that was a great first half-pass. much better than my first....third, and fifth try :) your horse is just gorgeous! love him and his movement. great job!! my trainer had me try the half pass of the circle too. it helps! keep up the great work!

ur schoolguy has a funny voice lol ^^ is he swedish?? ur halfpass was much better than my first *claps* its reeli amazing especially that the horse was a novice too !
Ah yes. It doesn't help my strength was still recovering from being off for 2 months being sick, but I felt confident enough to hold up to a clinic ride.

I was impressed with the half-pass; I bet it takes a year before my little horse and I get it.

Do you find it easier, when a horse that plays up to ride them like in a riding ring?

Who was the clinic with? His voice is so soft i wouldn't be able to hear him if i was riding hehe.
MarshmellowManda 4 years ago
The clinician is Volker Bromann. Each rider rode with an earpiece and he spoke to them that way which is why everything sounds so soft ;D.
halfpassgal 4 years ago
Oh well that makes it much easier!

I think you did well. As you say you gotta start somewhere. =D
