I totally agree with you on the whole posting hate comments thing. Think about the way you would approach someone in person. You wouldn't go yelling 'You're ugly, your point-of-view is wrong and you should burn in hell' and if you would, then you've got some issues to deal with concerning courtesy and proper behavior.
