@rohanpogi That's why the song is so popular amongst progressive musicians, because Tomas is using them to the point of extreme exhaustion, it gets insane after a while, but its not easy, but definitely isn't the most challenging.
@rohanpogi Yeah, Tomas is a god of polyrhythms and honestly, there are way more "harder" songs by him instead of bleed, like the polyrhythm snare/bass section in Spasm.
@ShittyMcPoopyBalls i know. bleed was merely an example i gave because the topic was about hertas. yeah spasm is a very tough song to play. love the guitar solo on that song.
@mikeportnoyfan Bleed is not the first or only song where that pattern has ever been used... Its a good exercise and I can't do it without someone yelling BLEEEEEEEDDD!!!
@Pegathith i disagree with you my friend, i think that because Cynic really puts his heart and soul in their music, their music it's so sincere, they need something small, to connect with the audience, to get closer and even in touch with them, because a Cynic fan it's somethin unique, it's imposible to reunite 20.000 real Cynic fans in one place...
I was there. The venue was perfect. It was very personal and gave the concert a unique flair. I agree, that Cynic's popularity is far too low, though. Beautiful music deserves a proper audience.
Those traced in air headphones look awesome.

what's up with everyone's herta obsession? they're not that difficult, even executed with the feet.
britter88 7 months ago
@britter88 they're not difficult at all. listen to bleed by meshuggah. almost the whole song the drummer is using the herta with his feet.

@ShittyMcPoopyBalls the real challenge there is the time signatures and polyrythms. tomas is just a beast of a drummer.

@rohanpogi And about time signatures, most of Meshuggah's stuff is in 4/4

@ShittyMcPoopyBalls time signatures in bleed. that song was the topic when i mentioned time signatures. thanks for the info anyways.
