The rich, powerful, and tyrannical: always w$nn$ng. Governments or multinational corporations; there is no difference. It's all about money and power. None of them truly give as shit if push comes to shove and that's the truth all fucking day long. The real war in the world is rich versus poor. Race, color, creed, religion is all smoke and mirrors; excuses. It's all bullshit hype. They want the money and the world to be the way they want it and to be at the top like a "god". End of story.
This is some real shit right here. Whether you agree with the war or not we all (soldiers) are going over and doing what we are told. We fight this war whether we agree or not cuz our opinion isn't asked when we sign that contract. Too all my Brothers overseas and not just the Army but all branches, I pray you come home safe and for those of you that make the greatest sacrifice I put every round down range for you. HOOAH!
@kateywilliams32 Do you believe that soldiers killing people are somehow redeemed when the bible says that you should not kill? I have some family members in the armed forces who are far more devout and religious than I ever could be, and these are the thoughts that plague them.
"We all wind up on the same side, cause ain't none of us doing God's will." I think that is a very prolific statement from Everlast in this song.
@Edgar25704 In God We Trust was not the national motto and found on currency until 1956 as an effort to undermine the communist state. Same goes for the Pledge of Allegiance. To me, the quoted part of the song says that he's doing things that go against his nature for a so-called greater good, and he hopes his government is doing the same, but that's a mighty tall glass of hope.
my father-figure, a close family friend and my uncle wayne are all in the army,and my best friend cousin and my brother are going to join. we should be very grateful to our soldiers,some of them AREN'T proud of the unneeded deaths that happen..but they risk they're lives to keep us safe ndlts face it, a lot of people over there want us dead.
forget everlast. u fools cant comment if u never been there. bitch ass weenies making $ off this song, Forget that las shot of the vest with chevron and other corporations-u bitching about how we roll then go live in thier country;
Your wonderful peaceful and I really destructive that America destroyed civilization lived thousands of years has destroyed Iraq and is in need of thousands of years, to return once again this is the failed Bush policy in Iraq
i love this song but it makes me cry everytime i hear it because the men and women that have to go over seas and fight see things that no human should have to and my fiance is an mp in the army and i am so scared for the day he comes home and says im getting deployed
My husband and I called a radio station a million times last night trying to hear this song, via radio. He is an infantry man in the Army, and when I finally heard it and read and listened to the lyrics..I couldn't feel happy about it. :/ I like the song, but it is one thing to hear the lyrics and read them and know that he can relate to them. He leaves again for Iraq in March...and it pains me...I am PROUD of this amazing man I married for what he goes through.
@mollyinda2856 As a soldier myself I can't say I like the "I don't know the man that kills me" that much. War is an ugly thing and this thing portrays that. No soldier (marine, and others) comes back the same person as when they left
Powerful song; profound insight, I think, into what happens to men and women who go to war.

@shootthis123 I believe that if they feel sorry and repent for the things they are "Made" to do then God will forgive ALL sins.
In God We Trust.

I hope my government can say the same"

What do you mean "till the very moment?" Or, since when? since 2003? or since Saddam took power?
If you meant since 2003, then it is estimated that over 50 thousand Iraqis are killed; nevertheless, that is still a huge loss.
satoofi93 1 year ago
@salmaeldaly LMAO
whered you get those figures?
its a mere 50,000 and half of the dead iraqis were killed by your fellow countrymen during the secterian violence.
