It's true. Hatsumi only uses ukes that "toe the party line". Unfortunately the training teaches the students to be compliant. The training sure was fun, but not beneficial for self-defense.
@ozbluei Really I beat up a ABA Boxing Champ on the street as a Bujinkan Brown belt and a friend of mine has had lots of wins on the street as Bujinkan martial artist
@FabrizioBiondini not haters, just people who have done trad MA from Japan and know a little about the history of different ryu and know there wasnt one called ninjitsu...its made up from a collection of other arts fairly recently and dressed up for people who think black pyjamas make you invisible...many modern ryu are similiary made up and have adopted made up mysticism for the gullible!!
@greyzorro1 wrong, ninjutsu is/was real, and they really were the best warriors at everything, the only problem is ninjustu is a "lost" martial arts, meaning you cannot find anyone that teaches the authentic ninjutsu, and also to master it you need a lot and a lot of time, time that we modern people simply do not have because of our busy lives.
Read some history. Ninjas were never "warriors", they were paid assassins in ancient Japan. If they had a formalized martial art or not, you can ponder over til the cows come home.
But don´t glorify these people. Basically, Ninja = mafia.

Yeah, silly hatsumi, showing these silly "theatrics". If he had a tribal tattoo I'd take him more seriously.

@gekiryudojo What I said was a joke. It's sarcasm. It doesn't translate too well online, though. Sorry!
