Humanity united to fight back, and after fighting a losing battle for seven hours, Dr. Wallace Breen managed Earth's surrender. He became Earth's administrator, and the Combine took control of the planet.

@kisakushusaku well yes and no, you have the different factions such as the Xenians (xen wildlife that includes bullsquids, headcrabs, barnacles, the antlion species ect.) then theres the combine empire.

Really it was the combine who invaded and captured the earth within 7 hours, the Xen wildlife simply rocked up and cause a fudge load or terror.

@kisakushusaku Hmm I see your point, although a battle between Gordan Freeman and the G-man is impossible (since Gordan is in stasis for 20 years), some sort of game/official video would be great to close the gap in what happened in those past 20 years leading up to Half-Life 2.

I heard there was a mod called "The Seven hour war-Modification" being made by some fans but I suspect its dead.
