I'm debating coil overs or air suspension. I have pretty bad winter and roads, I was wondering how the ride is with air suspension and how reliable it is? Any opinions?

I have a golf (just got it) and was wondering, if you put anything on to lower your car like coilovers or airbags w/e can you still drive the car when its lowerd? Not all the way of course, but just a little bit?
