  • no idea how he didn't break his neck, the human body can be damn resilient

  • Reminds me of the Alonso-accident in Brazil, who had HANS and was completely knocked out. How the hell was Schumacher able to do qualifying on the same day?

  • I never knew about this accident. So lucky was he!

Probably the heaviest outright impact he's ever had and hopefully ever will.

I know the crash in 1999 broke his leg, but at least the car stopped in a straight line there. In this incident, the violent change of direction is what put him in serious danger of a concussion or neck injury.

  • @Ferrariman601

He also had an accident in practice at Suzuka 1991 were he suffered a minor neck injury.

  • probably his worst crash

  • @DarudeF1 nah, I think his crash at Silverstone 1999 was even worse, because he broke a leg there

  • @MidaETC Good call, and I cant believe I forgot about that one - however I still think this one was worse in the way that he could have broken his neck judging by the movement in the cockpit, similar to Hakkinen in adelaide of that year. 1999 he was in no danger of losing his life whereas I feel he got somewhat lucky in the crash above

  • A casual persons neck wrould probably get a crack. Just look at the HEad movement.

  • Holy hell! Very lucky not to be seriously injured.

  • wow watch how his head/helmet bounces in the cockpit when impacting

  • hmm god how lucky he was there!
