DAMN! That's a pretty big tank for 2 baby turtles. I keep mine in a way smaller tank. I don't want to put so much money into all of that when they're just babies... they could die anyday. I'm gonna wait till they're older and bigger to invest in a big tank, filter, etc.
you need a big tank when they are babies as well. this tank is really way to small for these turtels. i keepmy 2stink pots in a 19gallon tank and yes that is a bit to big for them at the moment (1 inch) but when they are the size of these ones they will need it.
2 days ago i got 2 baby slider turtles that are 1& 1/2 inches long. i have a 10 gallon tank, round flat river rocks, a basking lamp, an aquarum heater, food, water conditioner and a filter that was made for fish so i couldn't use it bcuz they will drown. can u give me a site fo baby turtle care? please and thanx 4 the video
You have a nice set up. Make sure the gravel isn't bigger then the turtle's head though... sometimes turtles will eat the gravel and it will get impacted, usually causing death. Also you can raise that water level a little... you were right about them drowning with too much water. They also need a UVA and UVB light-- its required for turtle shell growth and development. Hope this helps!
thanks for your comment.. I recently added more water.. the only reason it was so low was because i just got my new baby turtle and i heard that sometimes if theres to much water the can drown.. so i didnt want that happening. Also i had so it was twice his shell length.. Check out my other vid that i just put up

I'm pretty sure that fluorescent lights give off UVB and incandescent lights give off UVA. Not 100% sure on that though.

That tank is just big enough for them if not to small. Not to mention they will outgrow it anyways.

thanks yes i have taken out the gravel and raised the water to the top

Make sure it isn't? that doesn't make sense. If it is smaller than their head they could eat it, right?
powerman2442 3 years ago
Wow, there is barley enough room in that tank, fill it up more. your turts will be alot happier when they have more water to explore.
