    Dream theater has some of d best musicans..!!: D .. pettruci , mike , jlb , jordon :D :D

  • John Petrucci nails all the harmonies too! Nice to see :)

  • Whcih idiot disliked this vid? It was 0 dislikes when I viewed it a month ago.

  • this song hunting me arghhhh

  • ステージを去る時、「The end!」って叫んだらしいね。

    脱退を前に、何を思ってポートノイはこの曲を叩いたのか。

    そう考えると泣ける。

  • /watch?v=fABFDOcnlGo <<<< WHITER SOLO

  • one of the most beautiful songs from DT

  • Looks like HD when minimized. Full screen nopsies :(

  • petrucci the best!!!!

  • mto bom!

  • LaBrie and Petrucci's voice is EFFING awesome!

  • 0 Dislikes ! THIS SONG IS A MASTERPIECE !

  • People do not give Jordan Rudess enough credit. He is a great keyboard player!

  • @TheCyanic that dude is like magic. I don't know how Jordan does it, best keyboard player ever.

  • 3:58 For me best moment of This song -> look on Portnoy

  • I can't say which one of them was most awesome! :O

But I think Myung is more a great bassist than Petrucci is a great guitarist.

'Cause there are so many better guitarists.

But never fuck with John Myung! :D

  • @SeasideSymphonyOFFCL Better guitarists? Such as?

  • James... HETFIELD

  • I can't hear this without start crying

  • which DVD / video is this from???

  • Fuck,

    I didn't think that I have to explain, 3:35

    Damn, what's the fucking matter??

  • The way that John sings is very emotional.

  • @ServantOvDeth Dear, it's James... John Petrucci (Guitar), John Myung (Bass), James Labrie (Vocal)

  • @Nightwishfan234 I mean the way that JP sings on backing vocal (-_-")

  • @ServantOvDeth

    You mean James...

  • the though of dream theater without mike lives me paralized. but I must admit that mangini is really good :)

  • mike at 1:13 - 1:16....WTF!!!! AMAZING!!

  • @debartekde ummm that's not mike. mike quit.

  • @JewelvanDorp are you stupid of course its mike portnoy

  • @JewelvanDorp

This was before Mike quit. DT finished out their tour and Mike was touring with A7X when he decided to quit.

  • Got to admire and love the way Dream Theatre put SO much passion into their music, they manage to pull it off with so much ease, looking so relaxed yet emotionally expressing their passion ! awesome !

  • Where can I get this DVD??? It looks amazing!

  • I love it :) so relaxin'

  • Hate JLB if you want, but he's my favorite singer, and he's got an amazing voice. I mean of course singers have bad moments when playing live, but thats just the nature of the human voice.

  • @Stratocoaster08 no thats just a terrible food poisoning that happened 15+ years ago... he is god

  • @MoganFreeman1 Truth!

  • @Stratocoaster08 and he sings unaturally high for a man. I'm not surprised he has bad moments. When he does bad its a bit bad. but when he does well its incredible

  • @Stratocoaster08 Labrie sings every two days, it is understandable that your throat gets tired at times, is a human being .... but he has his great performances on stage and that we have all heard and appreciated

  • Did they only play 2 songs?

  • one of the good lyrics by JP

  • Only just got into DT and I really regret that! Seeing them live in July in London and cannot wait

  • 3:18 I would love a petrucci picture of that

  • This is a song that really touches my heart, hope they play it live at Night of the Prog 2011! So vulnerable. So beautiful.

  • Love the Brian May-inspired solo!

  • Petrucci`s arms are fookin massive!!! lol

  • do you have more vids of this concert??? (i already saw A Rite Of Passage)

  • Wow...

  • Petrucci sings well on this one.

  • DT are the dog's! JLB is the dog's! \m/

  • haters you arent welcome !

  • @jikarpert

luckily there aren't any dislikes :D

  • 0 dislikes, just the way I like it. haha. Keep on rockin'!

  • Is it just me who thinks the solo from 4:02 is exactly like a Queen solo? Brian May rules. (So does DT, of course.:))

  • @MartJaHu a bit of Bohemian Rhapsody there, yes...but it's nice :)

  • So Perfect <3

  • is this from a soon to be relesead dvd or something similar?

    WE NEED count of tuscany!

  • Uploaded on September 11...somehow this song fits on that tragic day

  • this is WITHA

  • such a great voice from a body you wouldn't expect, james labrie is such a great singer

  • Lol @ people thinking DT use autotune *facepalm*

  • @Charliee707 OH HAI CHARLIE. FANCY SEEING YOU HERE!

  • Fuck sake :P LaBrie is a trained singer, he doesn't even need autotuning :P

  • Does Dream Theater have a new drummer yet? I havent really been paying close attention to them for a while

  • damn gotta fucking love the amazing sound!!

  • Very good! Dream Theater is best in prog metal!

  • 2:01 HALP THA MAMARIE ESCEYPE! gotta love La'Brie!

  • It's obvious that John P's guitar is super auto tuned you can hear it at... 3:01, 4:30, and who cares if Labrie is or not enjoy a great song by a great band!

  • @DirtyCleAnDRuMMer92 how can a guitar be autotuned? and why would someone autotune a guitar?

  • @DirtyCleAnDRuMMer92 Your an idiot

  • @DirtyCleAnDRuMMer92 you don't really know the guitar.please fkg shut your mouth up

  • Only person who have autotune in voice is Petrucci ...LaBrie is great !

  • @Pohrobek That's mostly because as awesome a guitarist John is, he's a terrible singer.

  • @kazetehskylord Yeah I agree with you... I dont have any bad thought about John... I´m only try defend James.

  • @Pohrobek Yeah, the members do what they do best...

  • At 3:00, LaBrie goes out of tune. It proves he is not using autotune.

  • @rodolfostanic

When he sings 'lure it out' after 1:58, I definately felt that there was a pitch bend. I didn't mean the part you specified.

  • @StevieVaibanez he has a studio/church reverb on his voice, if you listen to the vocal track on the wither instrumental mix it sounds the same, he always plays with a slight revert and your hearing the note he sang before plus the note he was singing

  • Where's the auto tune part? In 1:58 he sings "struggle to relate" and I can't hear a thing. I'm a producer, and actually, I can't hear a autotune part in the whole song, but wherever.

  • I love Labrie and Dream Theater, but Im afraid there is definate autotuning at 1:58. Don't even try and deny that there is, because you know ;)

I still love DT, and if it helps James with his voice, I dont mind the autotune.

  • @StevieVaibanez waths a auto tune ?!

  • @jikarpert

Autotuners correct pitch in the voice, any off key notes will be rounded up or down to the nearest semitone, thus making the singer sound it tune. The part at 1:58 sounded too artificial to be a normal pitch bend.

Again, to avoid flaming, I absoloutely love DT, they're probably my favourite band. This is just obvious autotuning.

  • @StevieVaibanez LaBrie stated on his own forum that autotune was not used. I think it's just the tone of his voice.

  • @StevieVaibanez If there's autotuning, how is he able to sing with a vibrato? There's clearly no autotuning used in any of Dream Theater's live performances. You're crazy!

  • @StevieVaibanez At 1:58 ("Lure it out") it's absolutely not autotuning, that's how James sounds when he goes from soft tone to a rough tone. Listen to more DT songs if you don't believe me.

  • @RockRulez124

Thanks for the advice, but I already own every Dream Theater album and song ever relased, including B sides and Bootleg albums. To me it sounded like autotuning- and my opinion isn't about to change on this one- no matter who contradicts me. We all know about the struggle James has had with his voice over recent years (and the unfortunate food poisoning accident of 94'-95') so it's not completely out of the question that he'd use such technology to assist him.

  • @RockRulez124

P.S He's my favourite singer, so please don't start hating.

  • @StevieVaibanez I know right, his voice is back to flawless nowdays

  • The beginning of the song remindes me lifting shadows of a dream bass line

  • Labrie's amazing idk why some ppl bitch about his voice so much

  • James LaBrie is the best singer ever!

  • @bleulabrie I disagree... :( In my opinion, Russell Allen is the best singer in progressive metal... not only in prog... he's the best vocalist I ever heard!!! XDDDD

  • @VicaCOBHC Russel Allen is another singing animal. I guess it's a matter of taste :)

  • @VicaCOBHC He's not THAT good..... Labrie in his prime >>> Allen. Period

  • @VicaCOBHC Rusell is amazing but he doesnt have that vocal strenght like LaBrie when singing high notes..that's why I like LaBrie more...

    1# James LaBrie

    2# Russell Allen

    3# doesnt exsist :)

  • @GuitarAndWow Yeah, but Labrie can't hold notes very well, and he doesn't have a very powerful voice, Allen has a lot more presence.

  • @tokiwartooth95 HAH, Listen to his old voice, or awake album , u will be blown away when u hear his voice and see it's more powerful even than allens :)

  • it's so beautiful see how inspired it's petrucci playing his song, the vocals and guitar as well

  • A GREAT BAND ! 5*

  • this song gives me chills everytime I listen to it

  • @thefoosa72: easiest song? I don't think so=) maybe it's 4 u.. How 'bout, Hollow Years? Isn't that so easy 4 James 2 sing in a live Concert? =) I think what jikapert meant, is what do u hear on the album, is what will u hear from live.. And that's everything, not only this Wither song..He meant that James is so good that even in live that u can't recognize if that's a cd playing or it's a live one w/out luking at it. =) Mike, pLeaSe come home...

  • I need the entire show man!!!!!!! Where did you get this DT treasure???

  • wtf is with the auto tune songs.

  • To who still stupidly repeat saying these live videos by LaBrie are overdubbed and auto-tuned ARE WRONG! James LaBrie stated this issue in his own forum and said he never used auto-tune while performing live.

  • the best part is from 0:00 to 5:24 :))))

  • Oh my god >.< If I just stayed a week longer in Tokyo at my holiday, I would definitely go there, no matter how much I needed to pay to see them T_T

It's really emotional to see Mike Portnoy drum one of his last live performances by Dream Theater...

By the way, kanon146, is this a dvd which you ripped or something?

I want this so badly! Please tell me and my fellow DT fans :(

  • Where can i get the entire show?

  • Come on mike the drums are waiting for you... where are you???? we miss you

  • @guayo1982 he is with avenged sevenfold

  • @guayo1982 sorry bro, I don't think he'll ever come back

  • BEST BASSIST, BEST GUITARIST, BEST DRUMMER, BEST KEYBOARDIST, MAYBE THE BEST SINGER, BEST BALLAD!! BEST BAND... thumbs up if you agree

  • don't wanna be the grinch here, but no matter what labrie stated on his forum, i hear off-tune vocal crosstalk at 2:16 and some autotune fuck up at 4:50.

and it's fine with me. let them edit, let them overdub, as long as it gets a new cool video

  • @elvancor I don't hear it, and I always hear that kind of shit... I seriously doubt they overdub with concerts because I hear that LaBrie makes some pretty bad technical mistakes here. I think an overdub would have been more idealized, don't you?

But, the fact that he lets so much breath escape through his mouth that you can't even hear the notes at some point aside, this is a killer performance. :3

  • @Lilitush as for overdubbing, i was referring to score. and well, i'm a sound engineer and i, too, always hear that kind of shit, doing this kind of shit myself after all. so let's start scratching each other's eyes out x3

besides, i watched so many mobile phone recordings of this song, why would he suddenly hit way more notes as soon as it's on tv?^^

nonetheless, it IS a great performance!

  • @elvancor mate, you cant hear any auto tune in this performance, as for autotune fuck up at 4:50??? its a vocal technique called Vibrato!!! christ , i wish everyone would stop being so fussy and critical! He doesnt use autotune, you can Blatantly hear if someone uses autotune! Labrie is an awesome singer, those that can't do, critisise!!

  • @zentera1

i'm sorry. i tend to use the popular term autotune when what i mean is melodyne or similar stuff. i know what vibrato is, i know about singing as i know about the means of postproduction and their commonness, why i wasn't criticizing james' singing at all, just noticing that whoever mixed this - of course - applied pitch correction.

    also: whoah man calm down

  • is it portnoy's final concert with Dream Theater??

  • @hendras2010 yes:(

  • @NoPretending too bad....

  • Beautiful song...

  • thank for upload

    gooood

  • Anyone needing more evidence that Labrie is still a great singer? No? Thought so

  • Amazing!

  • DT should definitely have a few songs with this sort of vocal range on the next album. James sounds fantastic!

  • I just love that way John Myung plays the bass, so relaxed

  • @SuperGuitarNewbie everyone is relaxed while palating dude..=)

  • @SuperGuitarNewbie

jordan rudess, very excited :O as well

  • As a big DT fan, this sounds amazing. Shame about the very slight autotune - audible on petrucci's side, but tasty, very tasty.

  • @demite JLB specifically said on his forum that this video has no autotune in it at all.

  • @2008ol Groovy. Was that on his vocals and/or petruccis? Doesn't really matter as its DT at the end of the day.

  • hysd66 r u serious? Watch Budokan DVD, Score DVD, Tokio DVD(The best performance of James) Chaos in Motion Dvd,Scenes from a Memory DVD! James always sang completely equal to cd in live performances, even after his throat trouble he's still one of the best singers of whole history,he's tenor, enjoy!!!

  • this song is so much more energetic live

  • Quite Everyone!!!! God is singing!!!!

  • NOT TO MENTION A GREAT PERFORMANCE!

  • Great quality! Thanks for posting this

  • I have never imagined Labrie could sing like he had done on cd. I realize I need to change myself and say thank you to DT than I could share the very good time at Summer Sonic

  • Is this the performance that the music video was filmed for?

  • One of Labrie's finest performances... ever... 3:45

  • Comment removed

  • James Labrie sings just as on the album! :P!

  • @jikarpert yes its so bizzar hehe... We miss Mike... come on Mike return to your place

  • @jikarpert Of course he sings just like the album. It's the easiest song ever.

  • @jikarpert petrucci's version sounds tons better. cleaner tone, better singer. LaBrie is too rough.

  • @Shaunyrawrs That's down to personal taste though really, personally I love singers with rough voices :D

  • @Shaunyrawrs Petrucci has used autotune on the high notes. He never gets even close to labries level. Labrie is a great singer, petrucci is great with guitar.

  • Enjoy this. This is the LAST perfomance of DT with Mike " takeyourtimetocomeback" Portnoy on drums!

  • Thefoosa72 don't burp ignorance!Wither is a great ballad!

  • miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiike >.<

  • Sorry dt but I think this is perhaps the worst Dream Theater song ever made.

  • Comment removed

  • @thefoosa72 Then you have a taste issue or clearly lacking emotional feelings! no offence

  • @kevintje82onboard I just think that for Dream Theater, this is absolutely terrible. I don't like a single part of it. There are many emotional dream theater songs but I definitely do not consider this one of them.

  • Portnoy =/
