  • whats the name of this concert

where can i found it ?

  • @espMF

Its "Cream - Royal Albert Hall "

You can find it by Amazon

  • sitting..best cream song

  • Woohoo! Loving it. 5/5 for sharing zoso thanks.

    Also saved to HD ;-)

  • fab!!!!!!

  • Steppin' Out is amazing!

  • By the time of the RAH farewell gigs they had pared Steppin' Out down to about 5 minutes. Gone was the long Clapton solo spot from earlier in 1968. Steppin' Out was the encore for both farewell gigs.

  • Yeah Steppin' Out was amazing at the end of Mean Streets too - crazy ending!

  • @BunchofMovieVideos

Yeah dude, being a huge fan of the blues music and great bands in general, eg Cream it was a real pleasure to hear that track played at the end of Mean Streets (also one of my favorite Bobby and Scorsese films).

  • Jack Bruce with Cream doing Sitting on Top of the World ....SEXIEST moment in musical history......yumm

  • You're so right janey!! that performance just amazing, and that bass lines just great! and Im in love with that smile too!! so cute!

  • "Clapton is God"

  • what an amazing band!! and that smile at 8:43 of Jack is beautiful!:P

  • im so in love with that smile ! and it comes from a man who plays bass with EVERYTHING he's got ......bliss

  • You said it best ga6strings :-)

  • This band could kick anyones ass! and only three piece.

  • man i wish i could jam. i know clapton would dig it

  • Man Ginger Baker, Buddy Rich are my idols. I am about to be 19 here in sept, i play a Ludwig Vistalite Set its awsome to see some groovy licks on them drums and bad riffs on that lespaul. Havn Jack back that up is awsome in its own way what a soulful voice.

  • isn;t he using the ES?

  • you mean the bass the eb3 of Jack!!

    the ES335 is Clapton's guitar!!

  • he said riffs on that les paul, he using the ES (im talking about clapton)

  • oh,well yeah Clapton used his ES and his firebird for the farewell concerts!!

  • Indeed he did - Firebird for the earlier gig and the ES-335 for the final gig

  • where's the jonas brothers maybe they should start listening to some real music like this.they might see how instruments should be played and quit or their heads might explode from the sheer groove of this video.

    long live cream

  • One day Hendrix will come back from the place he went along with SRV, and we can all witness the ultimate Guitar God Jam.

  • Like it :D

  • maybe that was the real meaning of the biblical apocalypse. the universe would implode on itself if that happened haha

  • Don't be sayin you wish you were born in the 60's, just be glad you've had the priviledge to hear it at all.

  • Yes Cream and Zeppelin are awesome....and don't forget about The Who.... crazy ass players on stage, like Hendrix, man were they ahead for their time, wish all the great bands weren't so old, I'll cry the day Clapton and rest of Cream die

  • The entire world will weep with you. Just glad he quit smoking and getting high. Maybe we'll have him with us for a good long time. Read his autobiography. Incredable man.

  • Yeah the autobiography is awsome ! Clapton has survived of many of things... Incredible !

  • well im 16 and theres a few bands who obvisously love clapton and hendrix like the black keys are really sick hard rock blues band but i agree with what ur saying cream and zeppelin dominate

  • same cream, zeppelin, deep purple, very few young people like us , maybe we could bring back this music in the future :P

  • I totally agree with SmokinTactites, canno73, and fuefedahoidda, I wish I was born in the 60's, and you can't get better than this!

  • wished he still played like that!!!!!!

  • man im only 16 and i hope to be as good as clapton, screw music nowadays,

    clapton is god

    peace

  • i totally agree. i'm sixteen too and all these new bands have the same sound. i blame MTV and hair metal for it.

  • hi guys

im 15 and i have that strange feeling that i was born 40 too late:-)

nowadays there is NOBODY who can play like this guys in the 60s like clapton, hendrix,winter,gallagher...

today your only a good guitarplayer if you can play fast

  • i know. there's no creativity or soul in songs by dragon force and michael angelo batio. their music gets old and boring. Almost everyone at school plays guitar and everyone thinks the fastest one is the best.

  • yeah, I'm 16 too. Here in Brazil it's very rare someone who knows cream, and it's really very very rare a good band, and the last good bands that still exists, are not famous, and dificulty to find

  • Yeah that will all come crashing down one of these days cause it's apparent that they make alot of money and rip ppl off.. the Stones/ Clapton tix may be pricey but they PLAY their instruments! Bands who wanna play can make a living touring and thru MP3, etc these days but yeah i wish more guys like you would come out of the woodwork and be heard cause it would be awesome! cheers!

  • What is it about YouTube commenters? It seems a great majority of them have no musical history knowledge and even less brains. And I'm just talking Rock history here, not even touching on Jazz or Classical music. I was going to say it sounded like a bunch of 13 year olds, but that's an insult to some 13 year olds that are aware and have actually studied music.

  • i agree but you have to take into account that most people are stupid and they think that the music they listen to at one time is the only music that they should play or study. It's especially true for rock because so much of it is really old blues but people dont even know about or listen to the blues. My approach is listen to everything, literally. Take influences from everything i get my hands on... except metal. Metal is not peaceful in the slightest. Black sabbath is good though

  • I agree. I have gotten into way too many mindless musical arguments with youtube commenters. The worst is having to correct them on the really simple stuff. For instance, for a Stones video from 1965, "Hey is that Ron Wood on guitar?"..."Umm..no". At least those people aren't that adament. The worst are the ones who defend their position to the death. "Ginger and Buddy Rich suck compared to Travis Barker" At this point I just write, "Sigh".

  • true once you believe you have mastered yotube arguing you just realise what is the fucking point trying to proove these assholes wrong, the worse is tring to argue against racists, or people who complain about fictious police brutality.

  • Think of it as educating the 16-year olds who want to know these bands. I think it's great that they're watching and appreciating this stuff.

  • I don't mind "educating" but I don't like when some come across as know it alls even when they don't shite.

  • That's the way teenagers are. They think they know everything...But I am still so happy to see so many of them into this kind of music and recognizing how incredible some of this stuff really is. They don't know how lucky they are to be able to see all these old videos! Back then you had to go to the concerts to see these performances. I saw Cream live a few times, and I had all the records, but I have never seen many of the videos on You Tube. What an incredible treasure trove!!!!

  • To be honest I would have loved to be able to go the concerts and get the vinyls than watch them on youtube.

  • I can dig it. I wish there was such a thing as time travel. I would like to go back and reexperience some of the concerts I've seen, and go to some I missed. I grew up in San Francisco, and these guys hit town like a tidal wave....We knew, at the time, that this stuff was something extraordinary. I would always stand as close to the stage as I could!

  • vkuhl, u are very fortuneate to have seen Cream live. My sister saw "Blind Faith" in LA and I was so pissed cuz I didn't have the $!!!

  • HAHAHA i wished ppl my OWN age would listne to this stuff i riemeber during my junior and senoiro year i would ask all my frinds who was eric clapoton was... what they gamve me was an sad answer, even the guityar players i mean comon, i knew eric when i was 7, really do this ppl know what good music is????????????

  • if you look up eric clapton lesson on here you get a longer interview

  • what a terrible audio..its a pitty

  • THIS IS EVEN BETTER ON ACID..........

  • hell yah

  • one more thing,if you really want to know, ec hates to be refered to as "god" i read that years ago,he too knows there is only one god and it certainly ain't him,a great guitarist yes.

  • Yes, eric clapton recognizes the noodley appendage of Flying Spaghetti Monster upon his soul, as should we all.

  • i agree, as to the doors' dionescian wild man:)

  • Excuse me? I beleive you either mean Jesus Christ, or God himself. Choose one.

  • don't compare ec to srv or hendrix to ec, they were all great and each of them made a huge contribution.besides if you were born after 1960 you probably don't know shit about them anyway

  • the first part i agree with cant compare them

but i was born ALONG time after the 60's lol and i kno quit alot about them

o yea SRV deff wasnt in the 60's

  • CLAPTON IS GOD !

  • I think you might be confusing fuzz, distortion, and strummed chords with aggression. His playing style is about as driving and "aggressive" as blues gets.

  • stevie ray vaughn? you have got to be kidding! Every song he wrote was the same 3 chord progression! that same old solo riff he does bores me to tears! ugh!

  • sucks to be you

  • Agree completely. Alot of the percieved "agression" is in the tone of a Marshall cranked. He played more agressively in Derek and the Dominoes I believe, especially live. Back in Cream, Eric's musical vocabulary as a soloist was quite limited. You hear many of the same licks getting recycled. He is a far better guitarist now.

  • yeah well its not quite as effective when someones asking you to play with a specific emotion than when you're actually feeling it. Personally I prefer clapton's tone and phrasing with Cream, I am a huge Derek and the Dominoes fan though so nothing against that.

  • I actually don't think there was anybody better at that time...Page is great (and was on good form in '68) but Clapton is far superior...Hendrix different kettle of fish all together...sensational at times yet patchy other times. Clapton is effortlessly good the others are not.

  • Clapton in the Sixties version of Cream was awesome and fieiry, no question...However, the musical content of his soloing in Derek and the Dominoes and in recent times (Cream reunion and beyond)is FAR more sophisticated, involved and refined. It is the same with Ludwig van Beethoven. Sure, the First Symphony is youthful and enthusiastic, but nothing in comparison to the Ninth and the late string quartets.

  • that's how it was recorded actually. i don't think the sound was ever really remastered

  • how do i get -4 for this comment??? does anyone have ANY standards?? CLAPTON IS GOD, but the video sounds TERRIBLE.

  • I'm so glad too =D

  • The first time I saw footage from the Farewell Concert was I believe 1976. It was on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert! I've always loved the band and wanted to kill the filmmaker. All that acid trip shit, and how about a couple of straight on shots of the full band?? Oh well...I'm so glad someone at least captured the moment for the ages.

  • As much as I really love Eric Clapton, he just hasn't played with the same fire and intensity that he had with the Yardbirds, Bluesbreakers and Cream.

Always love the different versions of Steppin' Out!

  • read claptons autobiography, in 68 after leaving cream he had maybe a few bad months but he wasnt shit, he started up blind faith with steve windwood and ginger baker who basically pulled the same crowd as cream but with a few more. then of course theres his solo career and derek and the dominoes. so if anything he got hugely better after leaving cream

  • Clapton himself wasn't impressed w/ Layla and the crowded trebled guitars still make me cringe at the end. The rest of the album didn't exactly change the world. All I'm saying is that @ the point of the Cream breakup, there was the potential for this guy to be in something powerful and original (Jimmy Page, Duanne etc...) but mainly stuck to blues covers while developing a weak catelogue (Sign Language, Hello Old Friend).

  • Goddamn I want one of those ES-335 TDC's so bad.

  • i dont think clapton used the sg once at the farewell concerts why is that anyone know was the neck getting warped or something

  • As years went by, he started to move away from the SG, although I think it was maily after Cream. I think that still may have had something to do with it

  • I saw him use a hollow-body Gibson Byrdland guitar at The Concert for Bangladesh in 1971.

  • He sold it to Todd Rundgren.

  • he sold it before

  • he left it at some dudes house for 4 years, homeboy got it repainted, restored, sold it $150,000 i'm sure what year, i wanna say 2004, but not sure.

  • you're right

  • Clapton wasn't shit after Cream: Blind faith, Derek and the dominoes both kicked ass, and his new solo stuff is pretty skookum too, sitting on top of the world is my absolute favorite, thanks for posting it!

  • N0, not shit, just not what he used to be. When he got back with Cream a year or two ago, it was right back with him again. He needs that band to bring out his best, I feel. He's got some great stuff in btwn., but over all, I heard the difference immediately, after he went on his own. Not as inspired. Have you ever heard him do anything that matches Sitting.., or I'm So Glad as he played on Goodbye, Cream recordings?? Not me!

  • "Clapton wasn't shit after Cream..." LOL! Your'e right. He was excellent in this roll with Cream. A shame he didn't hook up with another type of situation that could of exploited his guitar virtousity mixed with some originally written classic blues. The 70's and 80's Clapton was actually boring by comparison- It makes sense though- the firey attitudes that made Cream what it was couldn't exist for more than that.

  • So you didn't hear Derek and the Dominoes ?

  • bedrocker,

Apparently you've never heard the little album he recorded with a dude named Duane in '70, which I'm fairly sure was after Cream. You may want to check it. There's some guitarwork tha may have you recanting your statement that E.C. wasn't shit after Cream.

  • Jack Bruce grooves in the bass!!!

  • Eric (IN Cream) was a monster! Then......?? Not the same no mo!

  • Let's put it as being young and being old.

  • Best fuckin guitarist! Fuck Clapton after Cream, but this shit can't be beat!

  • truly amazing

  • yea clapton's appearance always changed, not only the clothes and hairstyle but also facially. does anyone else notice that?

  • Yeah, you got a point, the guy is a chameleon!

His face just looks very different from year to year especially throughout the 60's. I remember looking at Creams farewell gig (Royal Albert hall) for the first time a few years ago and not beleiving that the fresh faced guy in the red shirt was Eric. I think drugs has lots to do with it too, sometimes clean looking sometimes bloated and filthy looking!

  • it had more to do with his guitar god status; he would often change his look because he was tired of dealing with all the attention.

  • haha well out of all the looks this one i'd say was my all time favorite. I grew my hair out long because of this look. I personally like the long shaggy haired look

  • Clapton played the fuck outta the ES335 by yolly

  • This is is w/out a doubt Cream's best Jam.

  • I so agree. But the version on Goodbye, Cream is by far the best attempt they ever made on this song. Everything sits perfect! The tempo, the bass lines, the vocals, the burning, biting guitar sound, the expertly placed drumming, and, of course, the ripping guitar solo at the end is the finest. What amazing feel!

  • ACID haha

  • this is it

  • Janey The Brit Said It ALL!!!!

You Know The Cream Shit Over Modern Music!!!

    E xxx

  • well, we know this wasn't what they considered one of their better performances....Spoonful on Wheels with Live 1 and 2 were really it for me....any video's available on those?

  • "Sittin on Top of The World" = s.u.b.l.i.m.e.

    close-ur-eyes , sit-back , soak-it-up , THIS IS MUSIC..Woah...

Jack BRUCE is just AMAZING, could listen to that voice FOREVER (& he's SO bloody finnnnnnnneeeee.....mwah!)

  • your funny ive seen your other comments. haha cream is fantastic! eric clapton is god

  • i agree on the comments about jack :)

  • November 26, 1968. To whoever asked...

  • Anybody know the date this concert was filmed! Lawdy, Lawd, can them cats play!

  • What's the DVD?

  • cream farewell concert i bought i for 14 bucks at a FYE, ive seen it at best buy and you could probably get it at sun coast and also while your there pick up the led zeppelin box set DVD its only like 20 bucks and it will turn your brain to shit.

  • Pretty damned awesome. Not so sure my neighbors liked it, tho.

  • yeah me too. i've got the dvd and the quality is much better

  • The BBC sessions recording of Steppin Out is so much cooler. But this still kicks guitar ass bigtime

  • Wow.

  • is it just me or does eric look like he is 40 in this? jimi looked old too.

  • That's heroin for you

  • JACK playin' & singin' the blues ...i dont need drugs , COS this SENDSSSSSS me...BLISS !

  • has anyone else noticed that jack bruce and eric clapton look completly different now?

  • UR right - Eric & Jack 've both been thru SO much . JACK : drink drugs cancer losing one of his children

ERIC : drugs losing his child

LIFE IS BLOODY TOUGH ...but they're BOTH STILL brilliant and talented musicians who STILL have a wonderful mutual admiration

  • Man fuck the US, you get every band in the world passing thru! lol

  • It's the Fool SG - the same guitar that Clapton played on the 'Wheels of Fire' live recording of 'Crossroads'. The live footage on this video IS the ES 335. And you can hear the difference. Compare 'Live Cream Volume 1' (SG) with the live tracks on 'Goodbye' (ES 335).

  • oh god... i just love them... never gonna stop being my favorite band... thanks for the video!!

  • he has such a killer tone with the SG!

  • It's an ES-335 semi-acoustic not an SG. But he sounds pretty much the same on any guitar when cranked that loud. :)

  • The guitar is playing in the interview is an SG!

  • eric clapton was still sporting that long hair of his. you can almost see clapton's greatness with his visage alone.

  • man the quality has gone to shit, but its still cream, and you cant really complain cuz its so good anyway. must have been insanely loud to0 up close at that concert, jack has two marshall stacks and so does eric, and you know they probably turned them up all to 10. wow that would be great to see them, hopefully they do another concert, somewhere in the us.

  • nah, hopefully someone will invent the time machine.

  • This is from a VHS copy I think so you don't have to worry. The DVD editions of the farewell concert are far better in quality.

  • i have the dvd copy, quality is much better

  • although the sound quality isnt great in this video, being at the show must have been AMAZING.. those marshall really put out a low end that you can only get when seeing it live!
